I'm going t
It's a shame that race has all 3 compounds mandatory as it actually reduces strategy options

Everyone is pretty much shoehorned into the same 2 stop strategy

Everyone is just going to do a single lap on the hards and split the other 13 laps between softs and meds

Should have only made the hard tyres mandatory to open up the strategy options.

On the other hand it's good to see PD trying new stuff with daily race C so I commend that.
I'm going to try 3RS/3RS/3RS/1H/4RM.:D

LOL SR.B is wow. Just had a battle with a Brazilian, punt back and forth, then he caught on he would simply get punted off again after ramming through a 3rd time, T1 L4. So he kept brake checking on the way to the second chicane, going so slow in the end he ghosted and I went through him. So I did the same, bump bump, managed to get through the chicane slow enough to absorb his bumps. Then after the chicane I got him to slow down enough to escape ahead out of reach. Still finished 5th

No penalties for all that bumping, punting and brake checking!!! Back to SR.A. Drive clean, end up with penalties. Dirty fighting, here have some SR, go try your luck back in SR.S. Monday Monza Madness.

Two races, from SR S to B....
I better go dirty...

What a joke tonight - my 1.21.9 quali time has put me on pole in almost every race, but boy I binned almost every single frickin' time...

I managed to increase my DR today from 21.6k to 24.6k but I should have been around 28-29k at this time. Managed 1 victory, but the last race ruined my whole racing evening. Started on pole, on mediums, managed to build a gap of 2.5s from the Beetle behind after 4 laps, then explored the grass and wall at the left hander after the hairpin. Of course I got 5.5s penalty(0.5 from track limits as I was sliding and trying to avoid spinning, 5s from the wall). Then, pitted, changed to Softs - had a real nice Stint and moved back near the group in the lead - 4 cars with around 3 seconds in between. Lap 12, changed to Hards, again about 3 seconds behind the lead group - when they started battling. I tried to push a bit, waiting for a mistake and it came: took a bit fast one of the right handers in the middle sectors, a bit if grass then the wall. 5s penalty, than I managed to spin 3 frickin' times trying to get on the tarmac again. Lost more than 40s there + the penalty. From 5th to 15th in 60 seconds...

And I can't even blame dirty driving...

Since they completly messed the penalty system up, this was my first attempt for the Daily Races since weeks.

Monza, Race B

Started in 8th position with the Jag and in the first chicane it went as excepted. All were civilized and I only got a very slight bumb from the back. Ended up with a 1 sec penalty... Served the penalty and fall back to 10th, then I fighted my way back to 4th and started for the last two laps a excellent fight with a Veyron. In the last lap I made a really huge mistake and overshot the braking point at the 2nd chicane. Really, really huge mistake by me, as the Veyron was shot straight into the city of Milano. So I was gifted with 3rd position and got: Exactly, NO penalty for that...
For sure I let the Veyron again pass at the finish line and ended my attempt to have fun with the daily races at the deserved 4th place.

Summary: Nope, I will not drive these races again till this penalty thing is fixed. As much fun Monza is with the Group 4 cars - without a working system Others and I are a virtual danger for each other.

Two races at Monza today as I found I got my chores done early. Driver in front of me both races glitches. All I can do is chuckle and pucker up for lap 1. Here is the start of the first race.
Danger Danger! I can say my driving isn't exactly spot on here, but in that pack who knows what I could have done other than stop before the chicane and let them all go.

On the plus side I had a fantastic clean race in race 2 where another driver and I traded place for 3 laps. I kept passing when they would get a track cut penalty, but they were faster so would catch and pass back. Clean driving, side by side through first chicane no penalties or bumping. Ended up winning a 3 wide drag race out of parabolica at the end to come home 5th. Some good stuff out there.

The 2nd chicane at Monza is so damn strict. In 3 races I’ve gotten through it once without a penalty. Anything from .5 to 2 seconds.

BTW what BB is everyone running on the Veyron ?

That's awesome. I'd love to be in one of those glitched starts at Monza. Someone would definitely be mad at me before the first chicane.

BB 1 to the rear. I was consistently getting low 159s in race at +1 compared with low 200 at +2 (both races were identical in that started 3rd and ended 3rd cleanly). Exit speed felt more alive at +1 vs +2. Same thing with maneuvering chicanes: +1 seemed to produce better grip. Any benefit of +2 feels negated by having 7 gears. On DS4 if that means any difference.

Eyyyyy I was in one cheeky race this morning before work trying to get a cheap win :scared:. That glitcher was in my races last night too and has shown signs of dirty driving. Is it a known bug or is it something that can be "exploited"? Not that you can get any benefit from it other than griefing people. Turned the race into a 1v1 effectively.

I was also on the wrong end of the amazing penalty system. I was side by side on the outside of the FSR guy in parabolica, we touched, no one went off, I got 2 seconds. I had a good chance of a win but PD had other ideas. I get the red mist, overtake after the first chicane and I drive erratically at curve grande and get punted (I don't mind actually my race was done anyway) into the second chicane but no penalty. Now my SR is 88...

3 races last night being a pleb

1 race this morning with the same glitcher behind and the usual penalty BS, ignore my unsportsmanlike driving after getting the penalty :nervous:

If anything, use my qualy lap a guide for a "decent" lap.
(Also changed the thumbnail, it's kinda mandatory if YT gives that as an option )

To be fair if you keep it on the track you will prob still get a top 6!!

Just did 2 races and the amount of people binning it is hilarious. Given its top split EMEA you would expect better!!

I genuinely made a 4 stopper work last week at Suzuka to get track position and subsequently the win.

It was exciting and fun that time, not so much the second race when I was starting p6 and it was p4 that glitched. But different when they are all coming from behind.
@schnick you were in my second race this morning when I had a good race near the front. As far as the glitch, I think you can create it if you want, but why would anyone want to? Once I got through the lesmos on lap 1 I got clear as all the penalties from the start were getting served.
And watching your replay realized it was p4 that glitched, not p4. They just drove away from us anyway.

In my last race I pulled over at the start before the chicane and gained 5 positions cruising past all the ghosts/wrecks. In my case it was better to let the herd fight among themselves than join in. Also less risk of taking a trip to the sand or coming out with a random BS penalty.

The way it's going, I'll likely continue using this strategy.

I’m on a T500 but I greatly appreciate your info and I am running right now. The difference between +1 and +2 is exactly as you described it

Sooooooo happy.
My first "first" place!
And my first race after months of not playing.
I was ready to do tge Type-R race at Tokyo highway but it already expired.
Instead there was a 240sx race at Tokyo.
I tried it anyways, what the hell aaannd 1st place.

Tried several different tyre tactics at Brands Hatch in the Jag and Mustang.
The mustang is much easier on the tyres than the Jag, easily get another two laps out of the softs.
Best combination for me is start on softs, 1 lap on hard, rest on mediums. Been getting good results in both cars with that tactic.
I did try going softs throughout and taking the tyre penalty as I was in P3 but I came out in traffic on 2nd stint and wrecked the tyres with the Jag, had to go for another set of softs for the final lap or or would have eaten gravel on most corners, ended up P8 in that one. Seems to be worth it if you're on pole and can create a good gap.
Increased DR and several clean race bonus'.
Enjoying reading everyone's Monza reports, but don't think I'll be venturing there much :)

I'm not on top of all the glitches and exploits (including how to give someone a penalty) but as mentioned before it could be a way to grief people if you are so inclined. Only way to avoid it is to qualify well and I was able to improve my time just before that race. Just annoying for me because I'm still slowly trying to get wins towards platinum.

My pleasure. I'm still very new to GTS so it's nice to know I'm starting to understand the vehicles better.

Only area I don't like the Veyron is entering Parabolica. Feels sluggish from initiation through just past middle apex. Braking earlier doesn't seem to help at all either.

Seriously, this is really getting out of hand in “Sport” mode. Most of the races today have had me and one other guy sticking to the tyre regs. Most folk are just flat out ignoring them. The penalty system is now operating in reverse pretty much all of the time and everyone seems to have decided to wallow in the mire of “attack mode” constantly. The game is now in breach of advertising standards for all three words in its title.

Someone seriously needs to find a way to express our concerns to the powers that be.

Going to lie down now .......

I'm sorry, but it's as good as it's gonna get. :indiff:

The Veyron is a BIG brute, she simply wasn’t made for cornering. You just kind of make it around the corner and then let her stretch her legs before trying to survive another corner:lol:

Another high ffb fan has seen the light.
I am running a Logitech G29 and previously has the wheel set at max ffb.
I thought ffb had to be set on max to be realistic but it was too strong.
At 2, the wheel felt more responsive.

But she does so well through every chicane at Monza. I just don't get it how the car can be some quick in tight spots like that but feel like it's in a coma for the final corner. Even downshifting early pisses her off.

For those who enjoy the Veyron but want a 6-speed version with more "pep", you may like the Mustang.

That's the problem when you're allowed to get away with dirty moves, punts and contact in a "non-contact" sport. The current penalty system contradicts the sportsmanship videos because anything that makes you look bad is fine since you're often not being penalised for it.

Maybe I'm looking at this with rose-tinted glasses but older iterations of the system like shared fault taught me how to become a safer driver with more awareness and that making contact with others is bad and you would be punished for it. Newer players are taught the opposite of that under the current system.

I'm kind of surprised there isn't more of an outrage over it and I don't understand PD's philosophy or thought process behind such a ridiculous system. Making it appeal to Wreckfest crowds? I've no idea.

Learned the hard way tonight that the ghosting trick doesn't save you from penalties. Simply no way around it other than not play.

Hey! I was up to 6th by Lap 2! My final stop, I was 6th. The RMs couldn't get me closer to the Atenza and RS01. Good stuff though.
I tell you, Big Lex, she's a keeper.

Im wondering if PD try the BOP before us ? The RCZ is way to fast in straight even a Mustang cant keep up with it in the slipstream so imagine with a 86 lolll . In real life TCR cars compere to a GT4 the GT4 is much faster in straight but the TCR (FF) are Faster in corners . And the RCZ is ugly and boring af to drive with a wheel
