I had almost given up hope for gaming my K' Speed Score with this week's race A, stuck in the mid 59s. I took a break, and ate some chocolate. Was about to move onto trying Gr.4 Monza, but decided to try a bit more at race A. This time I was down to a mid 58 almost straight away! Ozzy said "Wine is fine but whisky's quicker", it would have been interesting to know his opinion on whether chocolate is even quicker.

Are you short shifting it?

A sea of little Peugeot RCZ's just slaying the field...

This isn't any fun this week. I only ran 2 races last night. First one in the Lexus. I was an ok race... Started 7th. Finished 6th. Got dive bombed hard on the last lap at Ascari by a Peugeot. Total silly move that should've warranted a penalty. Dude was at an impossible angle to take that turn, chopped my nose and, how he didn't end up in the gravel trap, I have NO idea. He made it stick tho... Whatever. DR up a little bit after that race.

Next race, screw it... Jumped in the Peugeot. A very meh  car. It's BOP'd with an afterburner though. Geeeeeez! I started this race 7th. Finished 6th. Made a stupid error at the first Lesmo, went off in the gravel because that car likes to understeer on throttle... Ohhh yeah... It's a FF car :banghead:. After my trip to the gravel, I rejoined about 9th but getting back up to speed and trying to stay out of other guys way, I found myself 12th. Had to make up spots and, between this rocket powered car and guys making mistakes, I got back to 6th. DR up a little bit.

PD needs to look at the BOP for that Peugeot. It's just...... odd

The Pug just got buffed in the last update, I’d imagine it’s gonna be that way for a while now.

I tried race C. 11 AM EST race, pretty clean, all pros, not a single 20 sec penalty at the end. I started on hards, changed to mediums in lap 2, then to softs in lap 9, that worked fine. The slippery change to Porsche from the RCZ tank caught me out in the beginning, I went off once in lap 1, the rest no problem.

I finished 15th (4 positions up) in a field of mostly A/S, half the race being chased by the same guy, we even pitted to softs in the same lap. I left the door open for him to pass in lap 11 after which he slowly ran away from me, deserved. My best lap was only 1:24 ish. I'm consistent on Brand's, but not fast enough to play with the big boys.

Kinda boring tbh compared to Monza Mayhem lol.

I've pretty much given up on daily and FIA races, the combo's are OKish but they're just not fun! gtplanet leagues and events for me.

Same here, probably played my last daily race right now. Got hit and pushed during all first lap, then i got so pissed that I started obliterating everybody. I received zero penalties and did leave the race with an S lol

I hope FIA stop endorsing the game with this ridiculous penalty System, although FIA is a joke organization nowadays too (see penalty for Ferrari team in the WEC race in Bahrain).

I'm going t

I'm going to try 3RS/3RS/3RS/1H/4RM.:D

Does anyone know the time for a pitstop? It might be worth the 20 seconds to run three stints on soft...
That's what I did. ;)

What’s the favourite car for Race C this week? I like the RS01 for Q, but it tries to eject me from the track after about 4 laps on the softs - I’ve no idea how to control it in a tire wear race!

I definitely have an issue with not being competitive at Gr3 compared to the other racing classes so need to focus on 1 car and master that for a while. Any suggestions?
I'm using the FT-1 VGT. It's great on tires and corners really well- predictable and stable. It can be a bit tail-happy on exit, maybe because it's TB. But I usually use the AMG or Rc F and this one has become my favorite.

I wouldn't be surprised if the FIA's constant meddling is the reason why PD tinkered with and ruined the penalty system for the last 3 updates.

I decided to give race A a try. I didn't do any practicing. sometimes it's fun to just learn as you go.
I hit the wall coming out of the chicane, then hit some more while I tried to turn around.
I ended up with 20 seconds in penalties. I understand that the wall penalty is supposed to take away any advantage gained from wall-riding, but is the A.I. really that stupid? Oh, whatever.
I was laughing my ass off.:lol::lol:

Funny you mention that. In the race I did with @NosOsH last night, someone ALMOST got away with the 20 second penalty by doing a Racing Soft only race (1 stop). The nail on the coffin for them was that they almost binned the second to last turn on the final lap. Starting on that final lap, he was about 20.1 seconds ahead of me, but because of him sliding, I was able to finish 19.2 seconds behind him, putting him 0.8 seconds behind me after the penalty was applied. I think the question of "Can you get away with it" will depend on the tire order those around you run on, and if they fight with others for long periods of time.

In my races yesterday I have seen a player do this several times, he got at least podium everytime and one victory(High B lobbies). He started every time position 3-4, and I for sure helped him with my tractor plowing the grass around.

Today had the same joy - at Brands Hatch rarely I can do a race without binning it. I have a very good pace for my level, but usually is either I push to hard or completely relax and lose concentration. I had a very nice race today with a British and a Portuguese driver - we kept it clean and had nice close racing. In the end I binned it in the last lap in T1 after pushing to hard to get P1 - as I was on Soft and the leader on Hards so I had to be happy with 3rd place. At least my DR is going up - got to 25.9k - +2.3k from the night before...

Atenza is looking great to me, I did 10 laps on sofs and pretty constant.
Thanks. I only had time to try a few of the cars suggested today, but I clicked with the Atenza straight away so good choice. Going to spend the rest of the week trying them all then stick with one for next few weeks.
If I’m feeling adventurous I might even try and wean myself totally off TCS, but that could be a depressing few days to get through. Baby steps...

I totally messed up someone's race strategy at Brands Hatch.
I start P11 in the Jag on softs.
1st few corners everyone good, then I start to pick up places.1guy pits at end of lap 1, up to 7th.
Lap 3 up to 5th.
End of lap 4 the Porsche I've been shadowing takes a wide line into final corner, I keep it tight & slightly behind ready for them to cut in or bin it.
BUT NO ! They want to pit, tap me, obviously I'm blocking pit lane in my bright purple car. So they hit me harder because they must change tyres NOW, force me into a wall then a reset. Finish P10 get 30 DR
I really hope they got those tyres, eventually

Someone did that in a stream I was watching yesterday too. It’s as if people forget that they have brakes and that they can just slow down to let the car go by before turning into the pits?

Finally made an account here, but I usually followed gtplanet for it's great coverage on the world of motorsport and the car industry in general with the news (they get recommended to me over Google). Anyway, I've been an avid fan of motorsport, cars and motorcycles since I was 4 and I've played a lot of games, amongst them, the Gran Turismo series. I love these games with a passion and tried out Sport at a friend's house after work; safe to say I loved it! I could finally save up for a PS4 and the game after some time and now here I am. I love the physics of the game, the details on the cars, the updated sounds, music, everything about it. I made the jump into the online racing Sport mode today, under my new account which I will probably only dedicate to this game as a whole because I am loving it so far. Here's a link to it, and I would be very happy to hear opinions on my driving, I've had most of my time around N class cars and I honestly find them pretty nice to drive, especially this new 180SX. Been loving the car! It feels so natural for a game, it's incredible. :dopey:

I would especially appreciate if one of the more veterans of Sport mainly could help dictate where I can be faster in a lap (my fastest lap is lap 2, I left it on the outside camera only so it's easier to look at; but I love the replay angles in this game!) Thank you all and happy racing!

Looks pretty darn good to me. I hit walls in both races that I did there, today.
If you just started sport mode today, I guess you're E rated. You appear to be doing pretty good, so I suppose you'll move up quickly. 👍

As you do, you'll discover the importance of playing defense and anticipating other people's moves.

It gets more challenging as you ascend, but will still be fun if you don't worry too much about your ratings.
The people who place too much importance on their ratings seem to be miserable all the time. :dopey:

See you soon.

Welcome aboard with GT Planet and GT Sport :gtpflag:

I would say it looks like you are working out some good stuff with keeping smooth but be ready to get into some close racing. As you move up you'll really need to be more aware of what the other players are doing as well. Be ready to stay calm with penalties as well. Enjoy it, have fun and enjoy the racing. As much as we grumble I think we all enjoy it most of the time even if some of our results suck at times.👍

Just decided I didn't have time for a race but ran a few QT laps at Brands. Scary. :nervous:
Never had Softs on there before, and in Gr.3. Bit ballsy trying to set a lap, but looks like it could be fun if I am not just spinning and shredding tires. Also trying to get used to that chicane on tokyo. Never tried it before so had no idea the line there. Still not sure to be totally honest. But now to come up with an 80s livery for Friday:cool:.
I might be slow but I need to look good doing it.

I have been having a great time there.
I qualified on hards... Started p19 with door number 14. Took one lap on hards (might need to do 3 or 4 next time) ten laps on medium and 3 laps on soft. Finished p8, SR Still at 99, DR up 800.
Edit: Porsche, BB at -2, TCS 0.

You can do easy 7S-6M-1H with the 911. Last lap on Softs might be a bit slidey, but 911 is pretty predictable and times will still be better than the mediums.

I always spin at least once, but not the tires are the problem here - just me overdriving the car :).

Thanks. I don't think I can though. I am running AM and are not so good at conserving tyres. But I can certainly go a few more laps on soft. I was thinking 2/3H, 6 mediums, 5/6 softs
