Gee the Toyota is a handful with the D-Pad. I know, I know, it is what it is OK. y default controller sensitivity it turned to the max, with this car it's like minus 2 or something to calm it down. It's still tricky to turn a little, i either understeer or take a massive turn in.

Managed a 57.7 in qualy so not bad but when i race i won't .... race. I am too scattered so will yield, avoid battles and hope to make up places by not falling off he road.

I'm the "joker/clown" that "blocked" you last night. Which led to you punting me off track on the final turn for your win.

Last night was the first on-line race I'd done in GT in over two years. Unfortunately, not much has changed... The race you took from me was my third of the night. Admittedly, I was SLOPPY on the final lap. But, I didn't get a Sportsmanship Rating of S by being an intentionally bad driver. I've been playing since the original GT came out, I've been on many tracks IRL (including the 'Ring) and done a lot of track days. Dirty driving makes me mad, IRL and on-line.

I'm trying to give you some background, I'm not a kid. I've done this a long time and I've done it virtually and on actual tracks... Am I the best driver in the world? No. Am I a dirty driver? A joker? A clown? No. No. No. My last lap was not pretty. But, from my perspective, I did my best to stay on the racing line, your job is to figure out how to get past me. I never made more than one move on a straight and it was always to get back on the racing line. I understand that this week's Race A has a brutally slow and underperforming car. But, it is what it is. If you can't pass me cleanly, you have to wait for the next opportunity. On the final lap, you were able to close the gap when I screwed up on a few corners. But, I always maintained a lead thru the corner you caught me on and had pulled ahead by more than a car length before the next turn.

You literally just ran into the back of me and punted me off track on the final turn. C'mon, you behaved exactly like the people you are complaining about in many of your posts here.

Here's the final two laps of the race from your perspective. Again, I know I was sloppy. I can do better. But, the way I see it, I only ever moved back on the racing line if I veered off it. You couldn't get it done in a legit manner so you took the easy way out. I'm a big boy. Have a look, point out where I was in the wrong. If it's there, I'll admit it, accept it and improve on it. BUT, I'd ask you to do the same.

Well written. So glad you caught the post and called out what you perceived to be B.S. The video you posted is genuine proof of the problem with GTSPORT’s current penalty system. It rewards poor sportsmanship and ruins the game for honest gentlemen/women that are looking for a fair race. These aren’t time trials, they’re races. If someone can’t pass the person in front of them without making contact, they don’t deserve the position. If they’re not okay with those rules (rules they agreed to when signing up for GTSPORT’s online competition), they have no business racing in online lobbies. Had I been racing you, you would’ve probably won the race, and I would’ve been grateful for the spirited battle. I’d be honored to compete against you, and assure you I’d never subject you to this unfair garbage that’s destroying the entire online racing community. It’s a cancerous behavior that spreads in the form of retaliation. And apparently, for the author to which you responded, it’s behavior that’s not only tolerated, but justified! It’s downright disgusting in my opinion.

THANK YOU!!! Thank you for taking the time to read the forum; your response along with providing evidence to support your side of events is invaluable. You ran a clean race. Mistakes that allowed the following driver to catch up did not entitle him/her to your position. You had every right to defend your position in the clean matter in which you did. That punt at the end was the epitome of what’s wrong with online racing.

If we could eliminate the type of behavior that’s been exhibited, the entire community would gratefully benefit. Shameful behavior like you showed us, combined with the entitlement attitude of the author you responded to, presents game developers with the incredibly difficult task of programming some sort of referee system that can accommodate for, and balance the playing field for those with honest intentions, and those without.

I’d like to think your post will help the situation by shining a light on the problem (although I’m skeptical when it comes to humans changing their behavior - but we can hope!). If other racers could just have the decency to hold themselves accountable for their actions, so much could be solved. But as long as poor choices are tolerated, and really rewarded in this circumstance, I feel the temptation is too great for some to choose the honorable path. Especially when the odds are extremely low that someone will publicly call them out on their immoral behavior.

Again, well done @cbock ! ;)=👍

I am a second slower than you, but have the controller sensitivity set to max. Brake balance at 2 and TCS at 1. It's consistent in steering as that.

Nobody bump drafts on the Daily B Oval in Europe, I absolutely cannot stand it. A/S lobbies, even had a French me brake check me going into the flat out T2 when we were p1 and p2 breaking away from the pack.... because of my bump drafting :confused: Maybe it's NASCAR or something but on my North America account I've had better luck oval racing. On EU just seems to be guys constantly driving below the apron to break tow, drivers attempting passes down the straight when the guy ahead of them is also in the slipstream, divebombing T1. Never anyone working together, so bizarre.
Your name looks familiar, I might have seen you yesterday. I did alright out of bump drafting, but it does vary.

Just done an oval race there. 3rd with a South African behind me. He's refusing to bump draft me so he goes down the inside into turn one. I get 4 seconds and go down to 15th.

I ended up finishing 5th. I came back up behind a Spaniard who was also refusing to bump draft. When I got a better run out of the last corner on him I moved to the right to go past him. He slammed me into the wall and got 7 seconds for it. What is wrong with these people?

Are D-pad or stick? With the D-pad i need to wind sensitivity WAY down for this car, normally I am at max too. I am use TC2.

They don't understand.

True, they just don't know what it is. Well, the majority ofcourse. They merely think that you are teasing them when you hit them from behind.
I've tried it a few times. Only reaction I got was flashing lights and a real bumb afterwards:banghead:
But...even if I didn't know what bump drafting is, if someone kept pushing me on the straights, and I was gaining speed from it, and they weren't hitting me in the braking zones, I feel like I'd catch on pretty quickly.

my favorite races yesterday’s were 6 laps of bump drafting to get 5-6 of us to pull away, and then chaos the last lap and a half as we all go for it. Last night, people had no such patience, and it took a lot of fun away.

Well thought, but it seems they are getting nervous when getting hit, even when hit very gently. I tried it 4 / 5 times and stopped.
I don't have an alt region account, but it would have been fun to do it. Here in Europe it's a different thing, but there's nothing wrong with it.
Just another way of driving. BMB is still awesome. Close racing. One race you get real mad and in the next one you get a smile on your face.

I guess I'll be in the minority on this incident. I didn't really see either driver doing anything malicious.

I'm glad you posted a clip of the final 2 laps because at the final turn on the previous lap we can see how you normally approach the turn without any pressure from behind. You appear to both turn and brake right at the same time. However, on the last lap you swerve in front of the other car before hitting the brakes. You kinda made him run into you.

It appears that you brake a little sooner than the other car in most of the turns.
On the last turn, he was lined up on your inside, not right behind you in true punt formation. And he did hit his brakes there, but it was a bit after you. It looked like he was planning to dive to your inside.

I'd call it just a racing incident, resulting from 2 drivers having different plans for the same turn. Like any other race, mistakes are gonna be made.

You've been drinking again.

That final turn was a straight punt. The guy even said it was deliberate.

Normally I'd completely agree, but the driver behind said themselves:
So naturally, I bumped him around final turn for the win (no penalty no less).

Sounds pretty deliberate.

Personally I hope they come back here and just say something along the lines of "I misread the situation and in the heat of the moment did something I shouldn't have".

If we're all 100% honest, we've all been there.

Yeah it basically sounds like how it was back when you'd lose SR for BEING bump-drafted. What is it with PD and being obsessed with always penalizing the receiving party? First it was bump-drafting, now it's just being on the outside of a corner and touching someone.

PD: "We're the 'Real Driving Simulator' so let's make a penalty system that punishes you for being in front or making someone work for an overtake. That's how it works in real life, right?"

I race under Disparu- on GTS if you've seen me (Don't mind the French usernames, I used to live in Québec years ago. My French is quite **** now  ). I've had very similar experiences on the oval as you. Every time I get divebombed on T1 I get a penalty too ranging from 2 - 7 seconds. Thing is I'm pretty sure people know this and just nudge you up to the high side of the track to see you get a penalty as they gain a position. Now I will say the race is good fun when raced somewhat properly and race C is great craic if you make it out of T1 alive.

First win of the week from pole!!! :)

Had another race, again from pole, but got rammed at La Source at the start, and of course I got the 4 sec penalty.......Down to 15th with that, but then charged back to 3rd at the end! I think finally mapping the "overtake" button helped me a bit! :D

100% sober.

It wasn't a punt. I've done lots of punts, and I've never done it super softly where the other car just barely trickles off the track.
He didn't say it was deliberate. He was summarizing what happened.

I had a bunch of good races from the back at Spa this morning. First one not so great (punted off a couple times) but then with sharpened avoidance skills, consistent top 5 finishes and a couple 3rd places. DR up another 2.5K sitting at 39K flat atm.

My current strategy is survive lap 1, try to avoid all the pinball stuff around you, then latch on to a fast driver and use a litle boost to stay in draft range if falling back a little. I don't bother passing until I see an opportunity where I can break the draft as well after a clean pass. Let the car ahead use his boost to stay ahead while towing me along, then when he inevitably goes a bit wide, pass, full boost away, hopefully into draft range of the next car.

That first lap though, here's the chicane in lap 1

Hello friends,

I have not posted or raced too much for awhile, however I decided to run some c races last night.
I was in the high rooms and starting top seven and it was a bit of a bloodbath.
However it’s all good fun and although my sr is now B for the first time I can remember I will be out there again later.
I managed a fourth yesterday, but 4 of the five races I did I tangled with others or got run wide turn one.
It’s still fun and sorry if I tangled anyone who was running incognito.
Anymore it’s fun to just race my best and not worry about rating at all.
Racing is fun.
That is all.

Edit. I really enjoy seeing the replays and liveries shared by you guys online.

Welcome back. And I have to say that in Race B or C it is probably not the best week to be watching ratings as these races seem to be either quite good or you get caught in a battle to the death bloodbath.
I ran great one race B I mentioned earlier, but while racing closely for top 5 or 6 I got a crap penalty because there was a slight while we were side by side on last turn. Nothing wrong, clean race, massive BS penalty. But that's not going to take all the fun away.

Dude, read his post, as repeated elsewhere above. 100% deliberate.

Have to say, Just did a daily race B. Raced together with a German from the middle of the pack who worked with me as I bump drafted him up the pack and eventually up to first. At the end of the race on the final turn I was being overtaken on the outside and inside seemed a certain p4 for me. Said German came down off the racing line to the middle of the track to give me the draft and pulled me along for p2. Whether or not it was deliberate I'm not sure, but if you post here you beautiful German man I want you to know you're beautiful. Great race that!
