Wow. I thought I'd give Race C a shot being that Autopolis is one of my better tracks. (Maybe that just because I've raced it so much. What'ya think PD?) Holy Crap. I was one of maybe 5-6 DR.B drivers in a lobby of A and A+'s. And my DR's just above 14k! Man, I thought jamming to the inside was bad in lower lobbies. I lost count of how many times I left people zero space to the inside and I got t-boned at the apex anyway. I somehow ended up P13 after all that and gain ~100 DR for being probably the lowest rated person on the grid.

Yeah, F this race. I think I'm pretty much doing FIA practice this week.

Wow, this thread is dead for a Monday evening, the races must be really bad this week.

Yep, no surprise. I did a few Race Cs to recover my SR and it's very dull as expected. No strategy with 40+ laps of fuel and tyres aren't an issue. It would be a boring Race A combo, using it for Race C only makes it worse.

I like Maggiore reverse but side contact penalties are dampening the fun.

Gonna be cheeky, but seeing the dismay of the Dailies this week, as some of you here already know, there's a fun race taking part on Friday in the Renault Magane "OPmobile" at Catalunya, run by @Bivittavus88........I think there are a few spots free!! I'm sure we could have some fun, and fill the room!

There are some practice sessions being run this week, before the big race on Friday.......

......Don't shoot me @Bivittavus88 for the potential influx of requests to join! :D

Yep, GT Sport can piss off.

My enjoyment level has rapidly went downhill these past few weeks. I’ve went from ~45000 to a reset of 7K in a few days all because of shoddy penalties and the perils of being forced back into SR B and lower.

I’ve forgotten why I’m even playing GTS these days, it’s sure as hell not for enjoyment anymore, just the endless chase of getting the numbers up only for it to be unfairly taken away through no fault of my own. An example; 3 x 7 second penalties on Race C this evening for brushing an overtaking car in one race and getting rammed senseless into T1 after putting the hours in qualifying.

I was 11 when the original game came out and I’ve had every title since. I sweated, sweared and cried going through those licence tests to try and get gold in the days of Gran Turismo 1, grinded the “coffee time” challenges, paid extra for the Lewis Hamilton DL and now I’ve had enough.

GT Sport is the only game I have ever owned for this console, I stretched myself to buy it and then the extra £50 a year to play it online in the pursuit of some gaming satisfaction - right now it is not offering it due to the ridiculous penalties and stupid incompetent programming. I’m now looking for another racing game.

Does anyone check out the YouTube channel of those who mention it in their greeting message? :indiff:

Nope.

Looks like I’ll be stuck at home racing now. All my jobs just canceled over Corona. Insert lots of expletives here.

Typical response to cancelled/postponed events because of Corona: "If these nasty mother ****ers would wash their mother ****ing hands, this mother ****ing pandemic wouldn't be mother ****ing happening!"

I hope PD has some analytics tracking to see which combos result in the most player participation and use that for future combos.

Who am I kidding, of course they don't use that info.

They might find that the SF19 races are highly enjoyed by most of us. I didn't get the chance to race last week, but I get excited every time they come up in dailies.

Unplayable right now. Got 7 Seconds twice is Race C for inconsequential side contact in a corner. Saw people behind me with 14 and 22 seconds penalty after the third corner (and no one got shoved off, just because they were 2 or 3 wide). I'm done with GT Sport for now.

I'm strictly doing race b this week as well as trying to grind through the last bit of horizon zero Dawn (that game goes on forever). Had a couple good races last night and have chosen the Citroen as my car of choice. Pretty well balanced with great speed. I have been a part of two start glitches which were awful. Back half of the field basically did a standing start and at T1 the leader was already 15 seconds ahead. :yuck:

I had 2 weird penalties in Race B earlier today.

Coming into the final slow esses, a Ford dive bombs into the corner, and misses me on entry, but as we go both turn left they hit my right rear with their front left. I get a 1 second penalty yet was the inside car.

Race 2, 2nd lap, coming into the left hander that is T13. A Mazda dive bombs me as we're in about to turn left, we're both in the middle of the track. I get a 1 second penalty as I'm the outside 'aggressor' and we drive off, but about 1/4 second after the Mazda hit me, I hear a car go off behind us, and I suddenly get a 4 second penalty for forcing a car off track. WTF?

I check the reply, and indeed a car (A Beetle) did go off behind us, but was nowhere near me or the Mazda, yet I somehow got the penalty. Just weird. Bye-bye SR, and the reason I'm staying away. I know the penalty system is messed up, but we're now appearing to be getting ghost penalties!!!
I got a few ghost/delayed penalties last week as well. I got a couple penalties at Blue Moon Bay after someone lost control or touched a wall SEVERAL seconds after we made inconsequential contact. I also got a phantom penalty at Nurburgring in the last FIA race for something that I didn't even see. I have no idea if that incident was in front of or behind me, all I know is I got a 1s penalty for it.

Nope.

Are you a gamer or a racer? The points are meaningless unless you're seriously, seriously good and fighting at the top end of nations cup. otherwise, enjoy the battles each race may bring and save the replays.

Race C is incomprehensibly bad. You can't follow anyone, because it's a 7s penalty, and side-by-side is definitely out of the question. I had one actual contact in an entire eight-lap race and went down to SR A (don't know what score, not willing to find out) from 99. That's 23 clean sectors from 24 and at least a 20pt SR drop.

Has PD said anything to you guys about the situation with the penalties? Like even a slight hint of trying to fix them?

I put my GT Sport copy for sale.

I haven't played it in ages and I'm not inclined to come back to it after today.

I don't want to play it anymore, came back to it today and decided to go for a Race C before leaving to work...I got spun out on T1 and got a penalty, then later on I overshot a apex and hit the wall hard, and got a 5 seconds penalty.

Then I tried to salvage whatever of the race was left by at least trying to finish in a position higher than what I started and got 7 seconds penalty for a harmless side contact during a corner.

My B/S rank went to C/B.

Maybe all of this is on me, maybe it's not on me and the penalty system is just way too severe for it to make any sense(I don't understand why head-on crashes against the wall gives us penalties, the time lost and tires damaged on it already give us quite a disadvantage already), but regardless - This game has reached the point of being frustrating, it doesn't "do it" for me anymore at all.

I'm done with this game, now I remember why I stopped playing it altogether.

I hope PD is taking notes from this game to do better on the next game but as it stands, it just doesn't "do it" for me anymore.

Honestly, I'd rather have the free storage space than keeping a game that I won't play again.

Another week off for me.

If PD don't get their butts in gear to fix these basic penalty issues, and get some decent combos on, for me GTS will just keep dropping down my playlist. Online is completely broken, and the physics /ffb isn't good enough to keep my interest in time trials. I can't be bothered to grind to get new cars, and the wheel of N200, duplicates, and GRX sucks so much that most days i don't even get my 26 miles in.
And in 3 months ACC comes to PS4 and GTS won't get a look in.

Not sure PD are that fussed about GTS now honestly with GT7 round the corner - i don't know if they actually understand that turning people off from GTS is going to affect GT7 sales. With all the issues, it seems not.

Early morning GR.3 race. Started 3rd, finished 2nd.

I kept up with the two lead RSRs until I went wide and hit the Toyo Proxes fence after the Liqui Moly underpass.

P2 went off track on the left side down the bowl hairpin. The cheeky leader pulled into the pits at the finish, 1.3 seconds ahead of me. I thought, it too went off.
