Just ran a race A on my USA alt. What amazing driving. Started p11 was p6 end of lap 1 with no contact. End of lap 2 a couple of 1 bar wifi wonders punt me clean to the wall to give me a 4 sec. penalty. I am straight enough to catch them, line it up and send it no brakes into turn 1 in a bid to get them both since they both hit me. . . And their internet is so bad neither car is affected. But it does add 2 sec to my penalty.:boggled: o end up catching and passing 1 but the other stayed ahead for the finish. I am logging in from New Zealand and I have a better connection than they do. Man does it make it hard to pass when they dance all over the place. One of them actually caused a crash penalty on the grid as it didnt register their start and the person behind was credited with hitting them before they teleported back to their actual position. Manages to drop from 95SR to 79 with those 2 hits. Only contact all race. It is weird to race when it is so quiet you can hear the car crush the grass.

Definitely not a combo for anyone working on improving their SR.

Added: so I went for it I. SR A.:crazy: The punts! The punts! Now down in the low B as I dropped another 25. Might have to do a C from the back. This is like a semi silent demolition derby. I did screw up 1 person's race twice by clipping a curb and that sucks, but the only thing I could really do was give them the spot back each time. Of course I was only near them after serving penalties for getting punted at the end of each of the first 3 laps but it doesnt help when I become part of the problem. They did nothing to me.

Even the best the Planet has to offer, says "Lol, no"

When you chastise others, per the "forum rules" as is your duty...

And you want, NO, you DESIRE to be one of the regular racers, or the family outside of GTPlanet.

I knew Jordan before this was a thing.

If you wanna be one of us, Oh Great Lord Fam1ne, come down to Daily A.
I'm... not entirely sure what you're getting at, but I've been racing in Daily Race A on and off most of yesterday and today:

There seems to be a good number of South Americans using USA accounts nowadays. I don't blame them. The majority are good racers and some may want to avoid being prejudged. A lot of them have poor connections. I'm not sure why. Maybe it has to do with their local infrastructure.

When I use my Asian account, I normally have 3 yellow bars, which I don't believe causes any lag. Is that the same as your connection when you race here?

Yeah. The best I get anywhere is 3 bars. I can show 4 in the loading screen but have never been in a race with more than 3 in either Asia or NA. It seems a bit crap that the regions are organized that way but oh well.

Had a great race with a Canadian in race A at SR B. Fantastic fun and completely clean. I slid at the left to go downhill on the last lap so finished p2 but it was good to have such a great race before heading out for errands

All of the issues people are having above is why i'm not racing this week. Oh, and the race combos of course. In my opinion, your best chance of a clean race is with race cars and not road cars in this game. At least with sticky tyres and downforce you can maximise your laps, drop them behind and build a lead. And when Race C features a bit of strategy to work out, that can help a lot also.

PD have the racing incentives to only win, wrong. The abysmally coded broken penalty system all wrong and they only break the game further when it's in an "acceptable" racing state.

GT Sport? More like GT Lack Of Sport(smanship). Too many ramming kiddies playing bumper cars thesedays eh.

At least they had a glimpse of how utterly crap the penalty system is when Jimmy did his FIA drive. Get some more average players in that sim rig and show PD some "W T F, why did i get a penalty?" Footage.

Cos they sure as heck ain't listening to World Tour Players or us.

Sloppy coding. Sloppy management. Polyphony Digital.

👎👎👎👎👎

Got to hope the next update includes revisions to the penalty system.
Given the current situation PD could be bringing more prior onboard, instead existing players are bailing. Lots of people being vocal about it. ACC coming soon, PS5 on the horizon, PD need to sort this before it does damage to more than just our SRs.

There is a real danger that the current state of GTS will hurt the next game serious.
What do you do before buying a new game? Google. And if all people find when googling gran Turismo is complaining that will seriously damage sales.

I still can’t believe that the biggest GT site on the internet and the WT Drivers have no pull with PD, it doesn’t leave us with much hope for positive changes. :(

Not just that, how many current players will be put off buying future products?

I've had numerous breaks from this game because it's too much of a head ****. I can't justify the expense of iRacing but it's becoming more appealing. I have ACC on the PC and I've been playing that instead of GT Sport.

I don't see anything that has the accessibility and variety of GT Sport but PD's mismanagement of the penalty system is a massive issue. We've now got a racing game which actively encourages, and rewards, divebombing and ram-to-pass as the way to reach the front and punishes the victims of the behaviour with illogical 7 second penalties.

Jimmer got a rogue penalty in his recorded race yesterday (I wonder how many takes that took, and I wonder what he was thinking, rather than saying, when he got that penalty). As aside, his second shed worked well as a studio.

SuperGT is meant to be doing the next round for Gran Turismo TV. He himself had a DR reset yesterday and was swearing about the game play, to the point of stopping playing it.

If these penalties were carried over to a World Tour event it would be farcical.

I digress, there's a whole thread on the penalty ****.

As far as dailies are concerned, I've had a clean race bonus on Autopolis. The clean race was worth 11 SR points (on a starting SR of 85).

Don’t hold your breath. Even WT goers can’t get PD to change it. If they didn’t have human stewards and let their game do the penalties, maybe then it would change....maybe.
I know. I'm assuming that the new GT FIA is live. I'm not sure if Jimmys was as I caught it after the broadcast. Imagine SuperGT getting all annoyed with an undeserved penalty in FIA on GTs own channel though. I'm hoping this does happen. If anything, just to show them that the state of gameplay needs urgent CPR.

I’ll be buying also.
I love GTS, and think ACC with more difficulty might be worse for racecraft due to people losing control but we will see.

Two points. Unpopular...
One, when the penalties are so aggressive it’s still valuable to race. There’s no way to learn racecraft except racing.
You can’t improve by quitting because of a bogus penalty. I say realize what that means and race accordingly.
Two, as mostly men we all believe we are great drivers but replays often reveal otherwise.
I will probably no qual c race later and you better believe I will be conservative...

Was playing race B and something really strange happened - whenever I had to hit the brake and make a left turn my right rear wheel locks and I start to spin - I've been doing this race for like 20 times and I have been applying the brake at a constant force but on the last race the car felt weird and I spun on almost each corner after applying the brake - someone else experienced this? Is this the so called ABS bug or ?

Sounds like the ABS bug to me. I got bit at BMB last week.

I get the grumbling as the penalty system is really becoming a disaster, especially with the combo platter on this week, but the racing in A and C can be good. The Tesla is ugly and drives horribly, but power sliding to nail the turns in a pack is fun when you get it right. Driving from the back in C is ok as well. Biggest issues as always are the turn 1 torpedoes and at Sardegna we get the same at the other end of the track. Was in danger of hitting SR C in USA so did a race from the back at Autopolis, and got 14 SR for it. Considering 1 penalty for getting hit at turn 1 can negate all gains in this race the only way to go is from the back.

Let’s hope so! Maybe that’s why we’re getting ACC on console now? I know I’ll be buying it. 👍

ACC is different in a number of ways (though it has DLC coming which will broaden it and bring it closer to GT Sport.

Firstly, it's GT3 only (with GT4 on the way) and the emphasis is on longer races - typically 15-20 mins at least. So it's like Gr.3 Daily Cs. However, it's meant to be more serious with an emphasis on the endurance type racing with even the single player offline modes having compulsory 3 hour races. Tyre wear, fuel rates, strategy are all much more important, as is some set-up and changing of more parameters during the race, plus day/night transitions and wet/dry changes.

Secondly, the rating system is far more comprehensive and it has some of the obvious stuff we have discussed here such as completing the equivalent of circuit experience before it lets you on the server to race that track. You also must have a minimum SR equivalent to get on the server. In this context the server is like a daily race set up.
I suspect, but do not know from experience, that ****ing about online and dropping the SR will see you back to building up your SR before you can get onto the competitive server again. In theory, this means that people competing in the daily race equivalent will either be clean or be banished. And those in the public lobbies are probably building SR to get into the competitive races. Those two things should equate to clean racing. Furthermore, the game will not match the equivalent a novice with a pro. The logic simply doesn't allow it - the matching screen will show you how many of the players on line you can be matched with and there are significant numbers excluded because you're at such different levels.

I am curious how the PS4 will work with the demands of the game, or what compromises will be made, as it needs a decent spec PC to run well. I think a wheel set-up will also make a big difference, as would a keyboard or some sort of PS4 compatible button box.

My second off topic ramble of the day. You can tell I'm not racing.
