Hi! I broke my rule and raced two C's on friday evening... It was refreshing feeling, I donk know if I was just very lucky but drivers in both races were clean. Of course **** happens and in second race some german punted me and I spinned, dropped from 8th to 20, but guess what? He waited for me! So I think he just made mistake. Thats not the end, now Im 19th with 3s gap to 18, I doing my best and quickly gap is getting smaller. When Im on the bumper of 18, he let me pass, not only giving me space but probably lifted a bit. Next 3 players were also very kind and doesnt block me or defend too much. This kind of situation happend to me maybe 2,3 times since playing gts and its over a year. I made new friends:)
Incredible sportsmanship by the other driver, 'tho incredibly frustrating for you both.

Sure your race was ruined, but he gave up 7th or 8th place VOLUNTARILY to do the right thing by you. Great attitude by you both. This example should be highlighted to as many people as possible.

Can you post a replay?

Of course I have, everyone has. But I do not venture into something where I know I will bump others. If the guy ahead suddenly makes a bonehead move after have been consistent before then it's an accident but if you are following him and he is constantly making what you think is wrong then it's on you. And that's not even an opinion, it's a fact.
I say, sure, run from behind and have fun and yes, it makes you better. But then take it as a learning experience and sacrifice a few spots for a safe pass.

And I don't need to chill. When you tell me to chill inspite of me being rather relaxed you diminish my post as if it's just me being annoyed and you refuse to take responsibility for your actions.
If you instead read my post again and realize, or contemple that I might be right you get a chance to grow.

Edit: before your edit it was not the guy that was 20 seconds to slow, it was you who was too fast. If you are at the same pace as the room then there is no reason to run from the back.
He's CHOSEN to start from the back, knowing that the guys at the rear of the field are quite slow. Venting frustrations about slow drivers' behaviour seems disingenuous when his rightful position should be at the pointy end of the field.

I'm just here to see who gets the last word between these 2 protagonists!

As for the no qualifiers who are fast, my biggest issue is when they moan after the race about the difficulties passing the field. Easy solution fast guy, is to qualify. Otherwise you're just trying to be a professional victim.
Spot on. Disingenous, at least.

No problem:) Yes, midweek, which seems unlikely I know. But I've previously noticed less wear than we've seen with the Pug VGT in the FIA races tonight, whereas now the red bar is between a quarter and a third of the way down for the front tyres.

i can't put it down to me being more aggressive in my driving style because I've been the opposite, trying to recover my rating fom the depths of the pre-maintenance penalty hell. Just seems like 'stealth-tweaking' whether PD intended it or not.

Are you comparing tire wear between two different tracks? That could be the issue.

I never vented any frustrations of any kind regarding slow drivers.

So no I wasn’t disingenuous ;)

I don't know, I am starting to think it's not a language barrier bit a region barrier. I understand that in the Americas region and in the Oceanic region it's much more common with mixed DR in lobbies.
I am in EMEA and I rarely see a lobby with anyone at a different DR. To see an A+ or even an A is very rare at low B where I am.
So when I see someone starting from behind with no quali, often in a car that's not meta and then being in mid field in 1/2 or 1 lap 1 know I have to pull over. If I defend I am pushed off. Every single time.
Not once has I stayed to defend and survived. So now I don't defend, if I pull over it costs me a spot, sometimes two because the alt has a pilot fish tagging along, if I defend it costs me a trip to the gravel.
So it's not a surprise that I don't like people doing that.
I don't really care if it's for a challenge or to get the trophy or what.

I have no problems with people who Has an alt to keep their main clean, and the alt is almost or at the same level.
Neither do I have a problem with the one that races clean, but I very seldom see one (perhaps because I take that away by pulling over and signalling them past, but track record makes it sane) but the entitled spoiled ones who put their"fun" over our racing I simply loathe.
Same here. If I spot an obviously much faster driver in the rear view, I pull to one side, and OFTEN get side-scraped as they take the inside, and it is ME who gets a penalty for colliding with another car.

That's 3-4 seconds in reality, for a 2-second penalty, not to mention the time lost for pulling to one side, when I know damn-well they are too impatient to try and pass cleanly. My good sportsmanship is penalized, and their 'good' racecraft and superior driving skill is awarded, seemingly. They teach me, alright, but not the way the lesson that they often are quick to promote as guiding less-experienced or talented drivers.

Honestly the appeal of the Alt account to me is with the goal of reaching A/S with no qualifying. Racing at equal footing but from the back has a different dynamic to fighting at the front. And depends on the crowd that night and if I’d rather race up front. Like say a room that night only has B/S or below.....that I’ll use the Alt. With a bunch of A’s I’ll use my regular account.

Or if say I wanted to race last week with the penalty fiasco without hurting my stats, Alt would do the trick.

If I’m the only A in the room with a good speed margin. What am I learning driving solo? Rather work on strategy.

EDIT: Had two fantastic races:

First I would have preferred my other account as the pole sitter had similar pace so that could have been an amazing race vs me just chasing him down for 2nd.

Second race went from 15th/16th to 6th by end of lap 1. But stuck behind 6th till maybe lap 5. He was a very cheeky Brazilian, the kind that skirt that fine line of legal lol. Like Rosberg in braking zone style maneuvers. Fair enough, I’m up for the challenge. Sat on his bumper tested for weaknesses, and was able to pull it off in the final sector with the right left left. He went wide in the start and I stuck it in side by side through the next section with some light grinding but leaving each other track space, the fun stuff.

Now to chase down 5th who ended up crashing out in T1. Up to 5th pulling in 2nd-4th 2sec down from 2nd but 1st is long gone. Ended up finishing 5th right on 4ths bumper.

Maybe that race would have been more fun with my main account, but damn that was still a fun race regardless.

Quick question: Since I am trying to get my DR back after the ****show this week.

Over race B, what benefit do I get from doing race C if it last almost twice as long. Assuming the grid is larger, should I expect 8 more driver’s points if I’m in the podium positions?

Why do people write massive posts about the epic feats they've just achieved rather than just posting the video.
I think it is fun. Some of the stories are great, you get the emotion and excitement of the whole thing. You can get put in the scene much better than just watching a dry video. Besides, it is a lot like telling the story to your buddies after the fact. For a lot of us I think that is the reason we come here. To vent, to share and to discuss strategy, racecraft and have fun with friends. I am celebrating a fantastic night racing and I hope you all have one again soon.:gtpflag:

@pwningstone the big benefit is time to move ahead in the field and a bigger field to get points from

So if put if I’m pole all the time, then there isn’t much incentive to race C over B?

those using alt accounts who say they want a challenge should get one on the EU servers. NA and Asia servers are somewhat easier especially on a night. if you really do want a challenge then EU is the place. i have an NA alt account and it's higher in DR than my main account. a qualifying time for me at a track on NA that gets me a top 3 grid start is a top 15 grid start on EU servers.

Do you accept the challenge??

because not everyone can post video . If u only have a ps4 and no YouTube Chanel how can you share a video ? Can't even share a picture lolll

Videos you need a YouTube yes, but not for pics. Screen shot the photo you want and send it to yourself on PSN Messenger, then screenshot that picture from the PSN Messenger app on your phone. Or share photo in game and use the GT App to open it and screenshot it to your phone that way. :)

Making a YouTube account is as simple as making a new gmail address though to share videos. :)

I already have an EU account, I don’t use it much though. But you’re right, the competition is much stronger there. :)

No, sorry, I maybe wasn't being clear. I'm referring strictly to the current Toota 86 GT race at Autopolis. Tyre wear has only become an issue mesince the penalty update. can't say I've noticed itin Race B and I haven't wanted to try the Tesla - too twitchy for my liking.

Whenever you get a few racers together, you get their stories of the "epic feats" in their best races. It's a racer thing.
Wanna hear about the time I was trying to reel in GR at Loudon, over cooked it into 1A and lost the front? I was on my hip, and I cranked the bars and pushed off hard with my knee. Best save ever...got me a standing O from the cornerworkers.:gtpflag: just sayin...

Because some of us like to read and write.:p

In all seriousness though, I don't necessarily want to watch someone's entire 45 minutes or so of racing to find the 'good bits', so it's more entertaining to read their own take on things. Sure, you can edit the video in Sharefactory but that takes time and frankly I can think of things I'd rather do than edit more video, plus (correct me if I'm wrong) you can't do a highlights package, just trim the front and back end of your video - unless you want to spend a lot of time using the share button to record all the bits of action and splice them together.

I don't know how many people enjoy my occasional reports (but I'm grateful if some do), and I read some of other people's too, but I rarely sit and watch someone's 45 mnutes of racing as I'd rather be racing myself. Each to their own. But I think the forum is better with a mix of both written and video reports.

Maybe I should have just put all the above in a video...:D

Honestly, for me, I'd rather read a short summary than watch a 20 min video. If it's particularly epic and the OP wants to do a short cut up, great. But most just post their entire race and I have little to no interest in watching that.

I’ve occasionally used video, but it can be time consuming to do highlight reals. It’s far quicker to just write down the highlights that stood out.

It’s also quicker for the audience to digest than to watch everyone’s 20Min race. Takes maybe 1min to read a post.

I still might post video of my battle with the Brazilian, but it was 4am and I was tired lol.

I’ll give this a try too. Time for a EU account too eh. What’s required? Just saying your in the EU at the start of new account?
