I've been keeping it on FM1 (I find it too much trouble to try concentrating on driving, switching between radar and fuel map, and changing fuel maps). I shift up almost as soon as the revs register on the bar, and try to keep it in higher gears till the tyre wear forces me to use lower gears on corner entry. Even with the Jag I've been able to no stop.
Now thst's the kind of info I want! I agree about all the switching back and forth. Sure way for me to bin it. I did run one race, early on, in the 962 where I started at FM3, ran there for 3 laps, maybe some minor short shifting in the curvy bits, then FM1 and mostly WOT for the rest of the race. It really would be nice it you could change FM in practice to see what works. I guess custom race with BOP is the only way. BTW, how does the 92 compare to the 962 on fuel. Anybody?

There are definitely a large number of drivers who are using the idea of 'no penalty no problem' in their justification of their driving.

I have been rammed in the rear in acceleration zones so many times this week as people aren't aware of the hybrid vs gr. C differences. Same with many swerving to block, they don't seem to realize I am going 20mph faster, not 3. I have given up on retaliation unless 100 pct warranted, for instance after multiple infractions. I was working hard the last couple nights to play tactically and not take some overtakes when I could as it was setting up a massive punt risk heading into a slower turn with a hybrid favored exit. I was getting less penalties that way, less contact, and I often got to watch the others make massive mistakes due to the pressure of me riding right behind them for a lap in a supposed uncompetitive car.

Also had many in the META go for a wildly optimistic overtake thinking that because their car is more favored in the race then the pass is a given. Had to just get far more aware of things and space, realizing the kind of moron trying like hell to take me 2 wide in tertre rouge because he made up 0.7 seconds from corvette to there is the kind to let go as i can easily have them on the straight and more than likely they will take that aggressive driving straight to the penalty zone.

Drive what you drive best, keep your head on a swivel heading into braking zones and know your limitations, including those of the car. Exactly why I am driving one of the 'wrong' cars this week. I am safer, more stable and overall faster in the thing, thus better results.

Also avoiding Dragon Trail Seaside this week. That place is a death trap for me lately.

All very true, and has been true for a long time. It's driving to survive though rather than racing :/ Most races go like that nowadays until you finally meet someone you can actually have a bit of a race with instead of avoiding them or waiting for them to make a mistake. I love the close side by side action but it's so rare nowadays with such high risk of BS penalties putting a quick end to it. While the (revenge) punts got out of hand without the penalty system, there was a lot more actual racing going on. That week on N24 without penalties was the best week of close racing for over a year, despite some trolls trying to make a mess of it.

Side by side with a 787B through the chicanes on the straight, contact free, awesome close racing. Mazda speeds away a bit from the 962C, I draft and get slightly ahead, we both brake again on time, Mazda has slightly better brakes so side by side through the next chicane again, repeat. Fun stuff. Mulsanne no problem, then single file through the rest to get side by side action again through Dunlop. Meanwhile we're flying by Hybrids on the straight :)

Treasure the good stuff, try to forget the rest. Maybe one day PD will finally split GR.C of from GR.1 and/or change the settings finally not to always have R92CP / 962C do no stops and the 787B, Jag and Sauber having to pit to be competitive. Enough with the copy paste race settings.

Next week's races are up.... Sort of

Race A
Tokyo Expressway South Outer Loop - N200 - 3 laps - Sports Hards - Grid Start

Race B
Nurburgring Nordschleife - N400/One Make - 1 lap - Sports Hards

Race C
Not up yet...

I know some people here who'll very much enjoy the Nordschleife with Evo

It’s weird actually...they are both labeled as Race A and the dates are 2020/4/15 and 2020/4/16...

Just had a weird experience on race C. End of lap 2, last chicane, 2nd car behind me out braked himself, punted car in front of him into my rear. My car slid across the chicane exit / front straight entry ghosted but while still ghosted pushed the original culprit off the track. I rewound the replay five times to make sure there was no other collision that could explain it. There were two other cars involved and neither were affected by my ghosted car, only the original punter who also received a 1s penalty.

Edit: Got a clean race bonus in that one too :D

Sarthe dropped me to SR.E today thanks to the crash kiddies, then the races finally got clean in SR.C. There I had a couple awesome close contact free battles with Argentina and Brazil. No TS050s down here, plenty GR.C cars and TS030s for whatever reason. I ended with a second place finish with clean race bonus after drafting and swapping places with a 787B for the first 3 laps, still starting from the back. Half the field quits down here though....

So still possible to find good races, but it takes a lot of tries to finally get matched with the right people. Meanwhile my DR was reset to 7K when my SR was all the way down to 6 from BS penalties getting rammed off. Now back to 9.5K and 51 SR, back in SR.B where there were zero clean racers before. So good time to start on dinner while downloading Uncharted 4.

Over 31K DR down, but I did finally find two clean races in a row!
that is why I will not race (especially now with all schools closed) between 6pm and 10pm.
only racing I do is late after say 10:30 and 11pm and very early starting at 5am to when I have to go to work @ 8am. weekends not unusual for me to start at 11pm and go to 3 or 4 am sleep for a couple hours and right back on 6am until it starts getting dirty around 10am

Wide Open Throttle :).

Jmo but one advantage of c cars is the straightaway performance. I want the maximum ‘easy’ time on those straights, I figure might as well conserve in the twisty bits...jmo if you no stop.
Plus, conservative through turns means better tires.

962, fm1 wot shift before flashing bar, 3rd for mulsanne chicanes, 4th for porsche curves, third for twister bits...
No prob no stop.
I prefer r92 flat with stop tho.
i will give that a try I go down to 2 for chicanes 4th for Porsche curves 3rd for twisty bits, but i do tend to over rev coming up thru the gears will have to be smoother. If I can get the 962 to no stop that would be a game changer i think

@Rexracer702
Nissan can no stop but you can only push the straights 2 laps on fm1.
What’s worked for me is flatout but watching tires in the sweepers and splash gas only lap 4.
Or you could also go tires too.
You could push max and go tires and fuel lap 3 too...
I found best times lap 4 put fuel only.
The key is not getting any .5
Gotta stay close to the yellow line...

First go with the 962, fuel lasted great, but overzealous TS050 crashed into me right after Arnage on L1. Dropped from 8th to last. Then a few minor mistakes meant I finished 18th... dropped 1k DR. Have to restart
EDIT: 2nd try, sitting comfortably in 5th halfway through L3. Game decides to DC. No lag on my end at all. Guess this is not my day... waving goodbye to SR and DR as we speak, never going to reach A at this rate. Get up to 29.5k and then immediately get screwed back to 26k

Complained yesterday about a superb race ruined by a stupid pass so today will post a superb race that was just superb.

Qualy times were crazy close, it looked close on paper and so it proved to be the case. A little fender rubbing but all passes were OK to me, I did nerf the Merc in the rear but didn't expect him to change his line at the last second and he was good about it after the race, had no idea i was there.

This is good racing. I love Seaside.

Using and have always used the 908 Peugeot. For me it’s hard to switch cars back and forth since I only use cockpit view, not to mention different gear ratios etc. so I stuck to the same car.

Anyways, doing FM1 flat out in race C. Stopping at end of L3 to get fuel only. This has worked when I start up front and manage to get at least 5 secs ahead. In races where I’m in the middle with fast drivers in hybrids, there’s no chance.

I was almost broken at the beginning of the week when I started on mid B/S. Had an absolute punt fest on dts but stuck at it and climbed upto A/S!

3rd attempt. 2nd DC in a row. Q6, door 9. Crashed into at Mulsanne Chicane 1 dropped to 14th. Got back up to 6th and halfway through L5 get DCd. CBA with this game... went from SR 99 to SR 70, and from DR 29.5k to 25.7k... I can't see the reason to play if it's either a DC or a ramfest. Thanks for the help though

RACE C WILL BE AT MONZA GR.3 LET'S GO
I'm so excited  :lol::lol::lol:

10 laps on medium tyres with probably mandatory Hard Tyres

Can't wait for T1 carnage and the frustration that comes with it

Although my DR has taken a hit, racing at DT has been decent this week.

But in half the races, there has been bickering before the race and the one doing all the bickering has bumped me off fighting with the other car they accuse of being dirty. After watching the replays, the ones doing the bickering never bother to look at what else is happening on the track and are ultimately worse than what they are bickering about.

Bickering pre-race is sign to others that you are angry and not focused. Use that time to relax and focus on racing instead.

I’m not going to be able to race any daily next week even tho I will be out of work omg.
I can’t drive any of those tracks at all, bad luck indeed.

People say hybrid hybrid hybrid but when you end up in a pack of them and can’t escape and none of them have a brain you end up off and sr down. To them it’s a Nascar event.

even when i start in the pack i still manage to get up 5-6 spots , hybrid crashes always happen :D

I've seen pre-race threats be pretty effective at throwing the other guy off his game.
But you're right. Entering a race when you're angry usually doesn't work out very well. Might as well skip the next race and go have a beer and a smoke.

An eye for an eye. I live by that (in gaming).

I think same discussion was here 2 months ago? So I repeat my opinion:) If during the race someone punt my back in braking zone for example, I go wide or off track, loose position, I DONT CARE if it was on purpose or by mistake or by lack of skill. Result is the same. I understand that everybody makes mistakes, so if really it was by mistake just be fair and give position back. If dont I treat it like dirty move and give it back. Very simple. Some may say its childish, but isnt more childish believing that punter will changehis behaviour without beign punished for his actions? I dont think so... Why we dont put our hand into fire? Yes beacause we felt pain:)
BTW there are new races on kudos only 2 now, tokyo and nordschleife
