in that scenario, you'd want both drivers to be penalized for something YOU did? An incident that was entirely out of the front drive's hand??
That's just insane...

It sounds unfair but you need to look at the bigger picture and I think this is a failed realisation of when the penalty system used to run under shared blame. The driver causing incidents is likely to consistently stay at a low SR because they're penalised each time. While with the current system, they'll continue running rampant at SR S because many times, the victim is penalised instead.

I agree about roof cam, it's just that, a preference. I find it pretty funny/sad that people still take a 'high horse' approach over it despite several WT finalists using it.

Swapped to the Pug for C and lifted my quali lap by 2 seconds,
but holy hell I can't race it. Burned the tyres off it and got punted to oblivion.
Will switch back to the Beetle and try to get a decent finish before this ends.

After a few more races in Kyoto, managed to make it to A-Level!!! Now, the conundrum for me is whether to keep playing and chance going back to B or keep at it, lol... I guess no more races for today, already did a few and I’m toast (last race, was comfortably in 3rd, but 4th was catching up quickly because of a couple of small mistakes, second to last corner the pressure won and ended up messing the exit and giving 3rd position away...)
Me too!! I stopped as soon as I got to A. I didn’t want to chance loosing it :cheers:

Just looked up the guy that has punted me off of T1 at the start of every race at Spa that I've seen him at this week. Been starting 2nd and 3rd, and usually end up last and playing catch up. And he's climbed to DR A+ while doing it. Well, he just lowered his Q time to a 43.1, which means he'll now be starting in front of me. Maybe it will be my turn for podiums as he makes his way from the back. I don't have his skill at wrecking people without penalty, but I'm willing to try to improve...on him.:mischievous:

So take that instance on the last chicane where you missed your braking point and purposely drove into the car ahead, in that scenario, you'd want both drivers to be penalized for something YOU did? An incident that was entirely out of the front drive's hand??

It’s not though. On day 1, sure it’s gonna suck, but you learn to just avoid the dive bombers and you slowly move up to lobbies where that doesn’t happen. In iRacing you get out of rookie class by simply starting at the back and waiting for the carnage to subside. It happens like clockwork and you quickly move up to lobbies where it happens less frequently.

If roof cam had a rearview, i’d feel different about it, but I always have an eye on my mirror, in the game, in real life. Without it, it’s a black hole and the radar only helps when they are right up on you.

Karts!!! I'm up for that.... :D
Yeah, I know that karts only use RS... :(

Karts are always groovy. I think you will find that although when you try doing the kart thing on your own, you don't get a tyre choice, I'm pretty certain that for the dailies, PD changes that. I'm sure the last kart race was on sports tyres, which makes no sense for a purpose built racing machine designed for the circuits.

Karts are always SS Tires with no fuel/tire wear, even in FIA races. :)

Driving in the Daley B race this week was a eye opener took me 6 races before I could finish in the top ten the problem was going in the turns at the right speed mostly to fast. Most contact was in the first turn as the problem in most racing . There was a bit of bad driving but on the whole they finish way behind the good.

This weeks c races have been more about survival for me. It hasn’t been ‘dirty’ but it has been good hard racing, and I’ve seen aliens heading up the field.
One race I got knocked around a bit by a faster player, it happens, you just gotta keep bringing it, you’ll survive...

Need to map my turn signals and start using them to indicate if I’m letting a guy through...
If I’m on a straight, moving inside and giving up racing line seems to be taken as an insult?
Maybe using the indicator to tell them hey go that side, I know you are faster...Any of our resident aliens wanna confirm if that would be understood?
I’m tired of moving off line on a straight only to get harassed and shoved. I want to tell them “IM LETTING YOU THROUGH” lmao
I really like the top rooms and I’m looking to avoid needless battles mid race depending on tire situation...

I tend to stay outside, and leave the inside open. I find that if they're faster, they look to the inside anyways, and if I leave it wide open, maybe brake a bit early, they make the pass. Another up side is that I can usually get a good drive out, and at least have a chance to latch on, and maybe they'll pull me towards the front.

I've had some great races at both B and C this week. B is a bit of a crap shoot but can be lots of fun. Had an awesome night on C two days ago, STACKED room with almost entirely A+/S and a lowest Q time of 2:16 and I was starting P19-20 on my Alt for fun. Made my way up into the top 10 but knew going in that top 10 was my goal at best. Very clean group and some fantastic racing. Coming from the back is great fun in that type of room, you're under constant pressure from front/back, love it.

Here's a quick vid for race B so far. Gotta do one for C still.

Yeah, I’m just lookin to see how to handle some of ‘those guys’ . They seem to take it as an insult if someone chooses a clean defensive position sometimes, and racing line is the fastest way round.
Like t1 c race. The fastest way isn’t way inside...Plus tbh I tend not to trust that players can not run wide there, even good players...
I’m gonna try signaling and see if it fixes that situation. I can cleanly defend inside, but if they are faster I just want them off me. They tend to get desperate and argh bargy against someone that can hold a line.
It’s always a gd GTR.

Aye, it's always a GTR, they only seem to have one line and it usualy involves the bit of track you're on
As a mediocre driver I have tried to use indicators with varying success. Even signalling I'm going into the pits seems to confuse some people.
T1 at Kyoto, if they're not good enough to pass around the outside, bugger them, make them work even harder for the pass

Love how you are taking the lines even on the last lap! Pretty smooth!

Thanks mate, I love the RSR, very dependable, decent in all areas....

One thing I don't understand, my qualy time is a 2:18.5 in Race C, but am gradually dropping down the order for each race start, with people ahead on 2:15s, 16s etc, that I can quite easily beat in the race......I can't understand how they can do such crazy fast qualy times (I'm wringing the car's neck for an 18.5), but are then seconds slower in the race. It's been like that since I started my new account with E/B ratings. Maybe they aren't all that consistant, but they race well all the same, wierd.

Some guys driving style destroys tires, they forget to watch after their tires, and 2 laps of their aggressive line destroy the tires. That plus lots of little mistakes that add up over the course of a lap.

Daily A. Almost back to SR S. (4 clean races in a row) final lap. Dude with bad connection teleports into the back of me at final chicane. suddenly SR down 1.00 penalty and a ghost goes flying past me into the wall (???) I'm slowly learning not to care.

You made a bad start, pulled in and simply blocked the car that made a good start, you even made contact, the same car then brakes and just avoids spinning you, he then gets hit from behind from another car AND THANKS TO THAT HE HITS YOU and causes you to spin, by NO fault of his own. You then proceed to take revenge on him and another innocent driver, for absolutely no reason.

You should message these people and say I AM SORRY and the next time you race, be positive and drop the Judge Dredd attitude until you see the replay..

LMAO at judge dredd attitude

The track layout and tire wear multiplier invite high tire degradation. Sometimes the fastest way around those long sweepers is to drift the car slightly, and that absolutely destroys the tires. That is why the NSX is so good at one lap here, but cannot compete with the Beetle, GTR during the race, the tire deg is too much as that car loves to drift anyway, ditto for the R8.

Yes man sure about tyre abuse, but I drive in a flat out manner too lol. Maybe the 911 is better on it's tyres than others.

Yes, fastest for qualifying, but not fastest for race pace. It’s better to back off a little and preserve the tires with consistent laps vs going flat out.

It’s the same reason F1 are a few seconds slower in race vs. quali. Gotta protect your tires.

The 911 is def better on front tire wear, and the rear engine gives extra grip on accel. Though at the cost of understeer.

You can start on hards or mediums, but you must use both types at least once in the race
Thanks for replying to my Question, , I made a lobby and Practiced the Race as I was going to follow exactly how it was worded in Description. lol. Thank You again.

No. You only have to use each of the mandatory tyres - which are hard and medium in this race - once in the race.

I get where you're come from, but I think a system where both drivers are penalized is just a less unfair version of what we have now, but it's still pretty bad...
I personally don't enjoy the current system and I wouldn't enjoy that one either...

I don't know about you, but learning to avoid dive bombers does not sound like a fun activity to me... Especially if failing to avoid them means I get penalized...

Getting penalized for other people's misdeads is just wrong..

I'd rather have a system where dirty drivers simply get penalized... Which is something PD has been failing to deliver for a very long time...

If roof cam had a rearview, i’d feel different about it, but I always have an eye on my mirror, in the game, in real life. Without it, it’s a black hole and the radar only helps when they are right up on you.

I get what you mean... I drive in 1st person and all of the cars I drive have mirrors...
They're very useful for defensive moves...
But they don't entirely replace the radar...
Knowing exactly where my opponents are allows me to make very precise moves without any contact...

As for next week's race C car, I tested a few Gr.X cars and any of the following cars would be a perfect match for a >20min race: P1 GTR, Fittipaldi, Red bull x2019, Zonda R and the old F1 car (F1500T-A)...

Hoping its either the F1500T-A or the x2019... They drive wonderfully at Laguna..

The problem with all of these cars is that, while I don't doubt that they're great to drive, it'll be literally impossible to overtake since PD nerfed the slipstream but left the dirty air untouched :boggled: The longest straight at Laguna is already quite short which made it hard to overtake even in Gr.3 pre-1.57, throw in more downforce (and therefore dirty air) and you're basically single file for the whole race until someone makes a mistake or loses out due to strategy. Then again, I doubt PD cares

I think the RB Junior is a possibility seeing as RM tires are available and the track isn't a very high-speed one. We'll have to see tomorrow though :)

GrX and the corkscrew turn I am expecting to see airborne cars taking the punting to a whole new level.

This week was my first time having a crack at online racing in this game. Kinda surprised how a lot of people keep to the racing line at my level. Honestly expected the races to be more like "bumper cars"; shame on me for having such little faith, I guess.

Love the first Daily Race in particular, the one with the Peugeots. Very easy to get a feel for turns despite the understeer; proud to have managed three clean races in a row with it. Only gripe is that you can't use your own Peugeot with its unique livery.

Thought sunday night might have been calmer after all the racing last night but it is totally chaotic. Lag jumps from some guys, 3 and 4 wide bombs where the tracks meet on race C. On the whole it is mostly clean but still a bit cutthroat. Had 2 races both going well ruined by crashes. First I tapped a guy gassing it a touch early at the sharp hairpin. Drop from p5 to p14 waiting up, but still get back to p8. Second race I get the mystery touch penalty for 2 seconds while battling for p6, then driving grumpy in p9 after that I slip it wide on a curb and do donuts! Only screwed myself up that time at least. Dropped to the back and pretty much stayed there as it was near the end. Oh well.

Too many GT-Rs out tonight. Lots of banging from them as they struggle in the slow sections or just launch it at the track joins. But I have mostly seen them and dodged, and they have for the most part simply tried to keep it clean despite trying for wild passes.
