It's not exactly unrealistic when it's basically a proof of concept for a rotary GT3 car. Everything about that car is based on real technology. It's not some Tomahawk spaceship with physics breaking aero.

Honestly, it takes ten minutes with you people. Can we have a new car be out for ten minutes?
The engine is real of course, but I just wish they would just use the real cars in the game.
There are so many cars that exist... Even if they put a Tesla in Gr3, idc but at least Teslas exist

Well, the Chiron became real, and the FT-1 became real enough. Hold that thought for a couple of years.
Knowing the high standard of Bugatti, I would highly doubt they have inspired themselves from a video game. Of course they made one Vision GT but pretty sure the Chiron was designed before and it's GT Sport who inspired themselves of Bugatti

It's one of few VGTS that was actually built, using a pre-production Chiron chassis. The VGT program involved actual designers and engineers from the manufacturers. I'm sure there was some crossover between those that worked on the VGT and the Chiron.

Also, Bugatti's standards are Audi's standards and Lamborghini standards. A Bugatti is a steroided-up Audi dressed in as much luxury dripping as possible.

I think we are a long way past the point of automakers disregarding video games as pointless. They have PR value for automakers as well as the potential for actual product development - see the GR Supra/GT partnership.

I suggest you to go to Bugatti factory, you will realise that even though it belongs to the VW group, it has no link with Audi or Lamborghini.
You could maybe say Porsche but even though, very far and very unique.

Autopolis is cool, cooler than Monza

I don't know, you'd have a chance of overtaking others there but you'll have a chance of massive SR- too due to dirty drivers, so it balances out as both being not that good. :indiff:

Autopolis is not the easiest to overtake at + Gr2 + less slipstream + same dirty air = just how many seconds a lap faster will you have to be to actually overtake, lots I'd imagine. :nervous:

If you are running this event you'll have to spend longer qualifying than racing.

Are you sure about that? Take a gander at the Veyron; the chief designers were all Volkswagen people. The engine is VW derived. The transmission is descended directly from the Audi DCTs which debuted with the TT - same goes for the AWD system.

These are not marks against the quality of the car - it is a jaw dropping feat of engineering, but this is exactly what Volkswagen Audi Group are good at, having multiple brands at different price points that retain their own unique approach using a shared design architecture based on old school German technical superiority. This is true for VW and Audi as much as it is for Lamborghini and Bugatti.

Porsche are a beast all of their own, forced to seriously rethink their entire very traditional German business model in the early 90s after scraping with bankruptcy. With the help of some Japanese gurus, they have shifted to a lean management style close to that of Toyota, but I'll grant that this does represent a wider trend in the motor industry with most companies moving the way of lean production these days. However I've now strayed far from the original point.

Considering the RX vision was pretty universally drooled over when it originally debuted, and is now being used in this GT partnership, I'd say it's highly likely we will see something like this come out of Mazda in the next few years.

Wow. Just wow. Had a really nasty DTS race. Got bombed repeatedly by the same person, who would promptly run off somewhere, get behind me and do it again. He rammed me into someone else when he tried to make it 3 wide at the final hairpin 1 lap, and slammed another car in the esses in front of me, so they spun out and bounced off me. Got penalties for both. Lost 49 🤬🤬🤬🤬 SR from this in 1 🤬 race. I only entered to have a cruisy run and run my SR back to 99 from the mid 90s. :banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

Oh yeah, after them destroying me and running at least 2 others off, they get a blue S.
Yeah, TT driver.

Seriously, this is what the races are getting to be about every third race. This is 🤬 when someone can use me as their brakes, pass me and knock me off and I get penalized for running them off the road. Now I am in SR B and trying to find a way back.:guilty:

The RX-Vision IS real though. NOw, there's a virtual racing version. Not like Mazda have a new GT3 type car in their stable they can race. As much as I love the GT300 RX-7, I rather this brand new car, than an RX-7 made into a Gr.3 car.

About the rear stability. R1600Turbo suggested BB -1. I'm finding it much better when braking. I'm also trying 2nd gear out of slow corners.

ANyway, I had IM on after doing a GT League wet race at Tokyo.:banghead: Didn't realise until I got through Eau Rouge. Finished dead last.

MUch better. Excellent battle with that 8th place GT-R. Trading piunches all race, even when I got a penalty.

Some believe that @05XR8 likes it that way... :sly: :p
Literally, talk to the hand. Hands are shaking. Not because I'm near 50yo. either. This car has me on the edge. DOn't know if my heart can take it.

Close. The competitoon is too close. Lowered my time by 1 second(2:19.784) from my Atenza time. Seriously, some clean racing and this is at the back!

It's no joke out there. Again, seriously, hard, clean, fair racing! Stopping on a high.

Glad some are having good nights. Helps to make up for the 🤬 going on for me. Trying to recover SR. Started the night at 92, currently down to 38:eek:.

Last race I was at 76, clipped the entrance to the chicane lap 1 and don't ghost until the car 0.8 behins hits me. SR down and a penalty. Now driving from the mid pack with people 3 sec a lap slower, blocking like crazy, pushing me off when I try to go past. SR down every time. Get to someone near the front, following for p5, they screw up the chicane and don't ghost, SR down. 4 laps in a row. :banghead::banghead::banghead:

I should know better by now.

Next week's races are up (brace yourselves):

Race A: N300 @ Willow Springs, 5 laps. Sports Hard tires.

Race B: Gr.4 @ Lago Maggiore GP, 3 laps. Racing Hard tires.

Race C: Gr.2 @ Autopolis, 12 laps. Fuel x2 Tires x6 Hard tires.

Edit: oops, saw it was posted already. Back to my cave

Might be time for me to take a break.
SR really taking a hammering at the moment.
Just haven't had the pace to be at the front this week and the constant SR penalties,
while trying to keep it clean, is not fun.
Tried a couple of races last night where I let cars through and attempted to run clean at the back.
Even then people make mistakes, go off, and then punt me on their way back.
I give up.

Don't knock it till you try it. It takes a fine touch there, and there are lots of spins. Keep it on track and give it a go, at least for qually. Race A looks good to me as well.
Willow, Big Willow... Beacause of this week combos I didnt do even single race(just dont like FF cars and mostly Im doing Cs, so not very interested in B) only did kudos targeted times. I decided to gold every track in Hamiltons challenge. I gotta tell that I did 7, only 3 left... One of them is Willow... Im struggling with this track, 2 days? 1:12.000 is for gold, I did 1:12.010... Just cant do it, I dont "feel" this track. Nurburgring Nord was easier in this crazy C9 car than this....
Im stupid, its not Big Willow... Anyway Im avoiding desert;)

Can't get the hang of Autopolis, and I'm not very good with Gr2, might give it a go anyway next week, have been doing Race C a lot more lately, and it might force me to get better at both car and circuit. As much as I love Maggiore, I'm not racing Gr4 there without big tyre wear, interested to see what the Race A car is, hopefully something a bit unusual, they've been better with that lately, and I can't remember the last daily at Streets of Willow. Looking forward to it, although it's not going to be good for the DR, will just have to sit back and enjoy it.

It seems that race isn’t kind to your SR, why not try a different race to bring it up to a more suitable level and therefore (hopefully) better competition/drivers?
