Sounds like it's been a "good week" to be busy with other things...

Really hope there is something sensible coming Daily Race wise, I really want to have another BMB week where I can do race B and C and actually have some racing.

EDIT: Just saw the posts above mine and totally agree, such things should not be said to anyone in online game chat, I deal with vulnerable people in my day job and I know that's exactly what can happen if someone gets triggered by what someone else perceives as just general reaction to a bad race.

A little something serious I do have to say, as I saw this in post-race chat, and it angered the 🤬 out of me.

For the love that is all holy, DO NOT tell someone to kill themselves. I was doing my Daily Race C testing, when someone told another person that after the race ended. I know that wasn't aimed at me, but that is an insanely cruel thing to say, and hits too close to home. What if that person was questioning on doing it, and being told that was their breaking point? It can carry a huge weight on that person, which can lead to someone actually doing an attempt to end their own life.

Surely a case for report and ban.

Had an R92 and 962 in my race, but they got the smackdown by some LMPs, recovering from early offs on Lap 1.

I've manage to come 3rd in a DR 'B' race with the R92CP. The guy that won was about 40sec ahead in a TS050. I really enjoyed the challenge and will continue with the old Nissan for now. I am heavily reliant on people making little mistakes and I have to be very consistent with my laps.

The main issue with using a Group C is that there are many with the LMP's that feel I am holding them up out of a slow corner (which I am naturally) and respond by late breaking into my inside, or just punting me off to ensure they are in front on exit. Ince you get a good race going it's great fun as the cars have different strengths at different parts of the track.

The R92CP is great on the last corner of the last lap. Exiting directly behind a LMP car you can just pass on the straight before the end of the lap as long as you don't get blocked.

Started with the C9. One initial lap each

Watching the replays, look like I was "...granny shifting, not double clutching..." like I should.
Running the C9 without a warm up, I felt the most comfortable. Definitely vision from the cockpit is way better and I could sight the corners better.
TS050 still feels twitchy. Driven the car so much, but each time I take it out, feels like the first time.
I can go faster in both. However, I think the C9 would come out on top again. I had to slow it up the most and the live driving, "felt" more hectic than what the replay shows.

Daily Races:

Started good and then, I caught an RSR into T1. Stayed behind into the chicane. Coming out of the chicane, I had awesome exit speed, moved the steering slightly left and the car snapped the rear viloently. RIGHTLEFTRIGHTLEFTLEFTLEFTRIGHT!!!! Off you go!(not quite, the car behind tried to go past on my right and felt the fury of the right rear corner. Whoops!).

Fun race.

Geez, Louise! I started dead last. Madce sure to keep clear of the inevitable. Cars were spearing off ahead. DId some of them have wets on or ice blocks for tyres? Ridiculous.
Moved up to around 13th heading to T1. I stayed WAAAYYYYYYY right, because I knew the 919 was going to be later on the brakes and faster through the corner. Dude still hits me in the rear.
Down around 17th, kept my pace. Was 1.5 seconds slower than the leader. Pit Lap 9 with 0.8laps in the tank(shifting at redline). Tyres still barely worn. Players at the back, I don't know how they were losing grip with that awd. Crazy. Anyway, kept my pace and managed the gaps ahead and behind. Good car.

Great race with the C9. I think you had a much tougher lobby than myself. I'll give the C9 a try today.

While I am disconnecting from FIA races and so not gaining DR there, I thought I would try to do something constructive and gain DR in daily races.

Here is how it goes...

Win the race = Gain 200 DR
Get punted off and finish a horrendous P4 = Lose 400 DR if not more

So yeah, this is why most top drivers (some are now over DR 90K) don't go anywhere near daily races.

I've recently been promoted to B, and I can tell you it is every bit as dirty as C. I reckon that a large number of B racers, in particular, have an aggressive streak. I put this down to an inflated sense of their ability, having risen from the depths, and they see their trajectory as being on an upward curve.

Icarus comes to mind, and I am fully aware that my own abilities are rather limited, and C beckons. LOL.

The worst rooms to be in are on the cut line from B to A rank those guys are nuts. B drivers fighting to reach A meanwhile A drivers doing everything in their power not to fall back to B. Gets pretty crazy out there you better be starting up front! Get a great qualifying time and be consistent with that time.

Once you get a good foothold on A rank lobbies get much better, cleaner and you can actually start applying some of that race craft you've learned and have some fun with it.

How my daily races went yesterday about 5-6 races finish top 2-3 every race then get a disconnect and there goes the momentum back to where I started 3 hours ago.

Time for an alt account for fun

Time for an alt account for fun

If the solution has to be 'create a second PSN account' then there is clearly something that should be improved for the next title.

Also I really only play GT Sport for FIA championship races which are (usually) much higher quality and more interesting than Daily Races.

Is that allowed? Or is PD strict on 2nd accounts? Hate taking a week off because I'm not competitive as I'd like to be on a certain track.

Also can I change my region? I feel like they're bunch of people doing this.

You can use a second account but it is against the rules to use it for FIA races.

You can't change your region on an existing account, but you can create a new PSN account with a different address/country.

I think there's a clause somewhere in the terms and conditions that you can't take part with multiple accounts in the same event. Because technically you could create like six accounts for six entry slots and have all of your races count towards the country's/manufacturer's overall score. Not sure if anyone is doing this or if there's even any kind of incentive to it but PD can detect this for sure. When I was in New Zealand for half a year I entered the Nations Cup once with my standard German account and discovered that the connection quality was insufficient. After that I created an NZ account and took part right in the next slot. Never heard anything from PD about it.

For those looking for an alternative to the modern LMP1s for race C, the McLaren VGT does a good job. It may not accelerate as quick out of the lower geared corners, yet it keeps on accelerating to reach a higher speed. So you will catch up to them right before the braking zone starts, or pass them on the main straight.

I wish 2nd 3rd 4th accounts were illegal. It would possibly clean up some racing since who gives a **** its a 2nd account. Or get that one banned and make a 3rd. The whole system is flawed and always will be as long as alternate accounts are allowed.

Was A+/A/S. I WAS A/S, but got bumped down to B/S. Think I'm on the borderline of A & B.

Lots of people share a console though, and there is no way to know who is on an alt account and who is playing legitimately on a shared console. So unfortunately Alts will always be a thing.

Thanks for the information!

I can see both sides of this whereas having 2nd account is good for not messing up your SR hours before FIA race forcing your hand into competing for lower point totals. Happened to me once or twice my biggest takeaway from my first season is DO NOT run a daily race before FIA it'll ruin you trying to scramble and gain back SR points and we all know once your SR takes a ding PD will but you in even more risky lobbies.

Then if I was a lower rank I'd be little upset that my decent qualifying time is knocked out by driver who doesn't belong with the group and consistently 10+ sec. Gap over the field. That would bother me.

Not so great! I try not to worry too much about DR, I can't see me getting into A unless I try, which means a bit less fun. I try and always use cars that aren't the favourites.

Tried the C9 and on average half a second quicker a lap than the R92CP...

Different folks, different uses for alt accounts. :)

I have an alt I haven't race in public yet. I'm building it up to use when/if I hit DR A. I'm using it as incentive to improve.

You can easily manipulate your ratings on a single account. In fact I believe that is one of the things wrong with the game, if you tank your SR and get a DR reset you are rewarded with easy wins.

Yes its always easy to force a win...just drop down your DR, but its not the same rewarding feeling is it.
My son reopened is old psn account so he could race online, as i wouldnt let on mine. I also thought you had to pay per account not console. Turns out not.

I jumped on to get him some money for cars. Got bored of the AI races so went online with no QT starting at the back of last weeks races.
Was mad to see were i was 5mts ago. Whenever i got into the top 3 i always felt quilty of robbing someone of there hard earned podium so dropped backed or quit.

The fun was moving up the field cleanly and not caring if i quit cos someone else messed up. Had some really good clean side by side sectors at Spa. Its also interesting and a good learning tool to run whole laps not on the racing line. Good clean overtaking lessons learnt and the replays looks amazing.

Edit.. On the point of an alt acc in a differant region i could see how that could be be the same. Last week at Autopolis EMEA i was 751st ( yes bloody good for me) America about 250th.

I am unable to join daily race. When I click on the green "Enter Race" button it takes me to "PS Plus" subscription page. I will appreciate any help. Thanks.

You need PS Plus to play online multiplayer in any full PS4 title with online multiplayer. You either don't have it, or it has expired.
Thanks. I thought I can participate in live daily races without joining PS Plus. Thanks again for the info :)

You don't even have to get a DR reset, just punt someone off in Race B because, say, they ram you three corners in a row, get your SR out of S and all of a sudden you too can be matched with a lobby full of D/S drivers with no chance of keeping up.

Absolutely 100% agree. No game is that important and if it is you need step back and re-evaluate life.
