Yes and no. Lap times on hards already reflect real GT3 times so you cannot make them any faster. Why they CHOOSE to run hards so often is beyond me.

Because we need to "challenge" the players.
Honestly sprint races should be done on the medium tyre, no questions asked. Maybe have more strategy Race C's where you have only mediums and soft tyres too, and no required compound, with just enough race length for both a one and two stop to be viable. Would be much more fun and realistic than having this malarchy of pitting for one lap for hards because the game wants me to or else I get a 1 million second penalty.

Do you also notice the huge skill difference between SR.B and SR.A at Seaside?

I was only one race at B. I finished fifth because they hit me, got crb tho, held it on track but they got past when they hit me lap 3. Poor racecraft there.
The A races...Got a couple wins in the Ferrari but it was from pole on one and the other a guy binned it in the chicane so I took second then passed the TT for first and held it.
Last race was low A S I was 84 and changed to Viper and won but it took all my skill to cleanly hold off the Viper in my slipstream. The American behind me was a very strong racer. He pulled side by side I think 3-4 times but my line was more advantageous so he couldn’t complete the move...I was able to put him to the side I wanted him by thinking a couple corners ahead and always held inside at the crucial corners. I shared that one probably some of the best defending I’ve ever done against someone so fast and aggressive. Kept it clean. This was the chicane of insanity final lap all top 3 through flat and clean. It was crazy!

In the 99 rooms I’ve taken a third, but folks are much faster. I notice at A people can turn a good lap but in general lack consistency.
I had to channel Jean Girard to win Viper to Viper tho...”no no this way also closed!”
“Ricky back off he’s like a Viper!”

Edit if I go back in at 90-99 I’m taking the Ferrari. Imo better for midpack start with the A and plus 99 people

Completely given up caring about DR and SR and just enjoying the races. It's refreshing.

On race B, I've had too many penalties for incidents that wasn't my fault. Adding me revenge punting meant I ended up getting another reset. So, once I am at the bottom, any intentional blocking swerving results in a mega punt retaliation, it's rewarding!

At least now, those that punt you out of nowhere get a 4 second penalty as standard it seems. Back upto a B DR very quickly but I don't care.

Anybody else using the Veyron Gr4? I' e been using it mostly this week on race B. Never really used it before, it's a monster on the up-hill uphill sections!

I'll play. Newcastle/Hunter, I see plenty. Most to the least and least is still a high number:

86
Mustang(I see more than the Mazda 6 below)
WRX
Atenza(Mazda 6 fwd)
Megane RS(even my neighbour has a white Trophy+)
M4
EVO
If the Citroen brand is counted, I see plenty. ;)

single digits:
RC F
Scirocco
RCZ
458
4C
GT-R
SLS & AMG GT(there's an owner of a repair shop with one parked near the main road)

I rarely see new TTs. More Older ones than I see new in the Audi dealership!

The British Bulldogs are like unicorns outside of Sydney. Can't even remember the last time I saw a Vantage where I live.

If I still lived in Melbourne, a 650S would be like seeing a Corolla.
Next week's dailies:

Race A: N200 @ Alsace, 2 laps, SH
Race B: Gr.3 @ Suzuka, 4 laps, RH
Race C: Gr.1 @ Nurburgring GP, 10 laps, RH, Tires x6 Fuel x2
AAAAAAnnnnd, I was just going to ask if Gr.4 have ever run Nurb24 in a Daily. Has there ever been such a race?

That Race C looks like trouble. TS050 One Make.

Edit: I used the Okayron in race B. High stakes was ahead of me in a TT. I could have him, but wasn't pressing the issue. Once he got a couple slowing cars between us, it was over.

Interesting.

What Gr. 3/4 car do you see most in your area?

OK. I’m done now. Entered and wasn’t paying attention so went in A 99.
Field of mostly Viper, what a fun race!
4 Vipers and me in the top five. They were driven by some of my friends from South America. Put up the replay tpc is the search in case people think certain cars can’t work for top five.
I’m shakin still! Calm during but after I’m shakin! That’s all I have time for today!

Gr. 1 at a place that's not Le Mans?? Am I dreaming?? Granted, NGP is one of my least favorite tracks in the game, but Gr. 1 cars make even tracks I don't like enjoyable.
ALSACE?!

PD I LOVE YOU!

Gr.3 at Suzuka without tyre wear / fuel consumption?!

PD I LOVE YOU!

GR.1 AT NGP WITH STRATEGY?!

PD I LOVE YOU!

Next week's gonna be fun!
NGP should be a straight sprint; no strategy. The Hards should easily make it 10 laps with 6x wear, and 2x fuel consumption should leave more than enough fuel in the tank. It would be a bit more interesting if we had to pit though.

Thought I read 20x fuel cons. Damn. But at least we get to race at hyperspeed.

Me too. I just finished a race where I started 3rd in my Subie, with 2 Vipers in front, and 2 Vipers behind. I can do better in the turns, but they can do better on the straights. Ended up 4th. Clean racing. 👍
Definitely cleaner than Monday and Tuesday. :scared:

I'm typically using that time to check out who's in the race, what cars they're driving, and saying hi to my friends. And, on occasion, threatening certain people. :)
*And also drinking beer. 👍

Next week will be cool...I won’t have qual times. I knew goin in Seaside is tough and after qualifying you are locked in...Gotta be ready...For me, can’t start thinking. Kind of a quirk if I sit my goldfish concentration can wander.
Next week will be chill :). Lookin forward to it.
This weeks racing tho by far some of the best I’ve ever had. #tpc

Do any of you guys do the pre-race warm up, before Sport Mode races? I don't think I've ever considered it.

Nope, it's kind of pointless since it's over so quick. On some tracks like Interlagos and Laguna Seca, it takes so long to drive out the pit that it's almost over by the time you're out.

2 laps??? Oh great. A 5 minute race. :indiff:

Yep and I think all races should similarly match the interval for Race C. A 10 min block between races, especially for a 2 lap race is kind of dumb. It's more waiting or hotlapping than the actual race itself.

That said, one of the reasons I do come back to GTS is for the scheduled racing (awesome idea, other devs should follow suit) so I shouldn't complain too much.

Getting pretty sad looking at my friends list this week. Never seen so many SR C/B/A.

99% of the time everyone on the list is at SR S. Most are friends I made specifically because they're clean drivers. And yet I still see many at SR S behaving recklessly in Daily Races. SR deductions right now are way off. The quality of races is declining. SR is punishing the wrong drivers.

In an effort to keep my SR good, I have chosen to race less often. That’s the reason that I only raced on Tuesday night.

Back to the last of us for me next week. Although GR.1 is always fun, NGP isn't though. That's like getting stuck in the baby pool next to an epic water park. Skip the fun part of the track :banghead: One of these decades we'll have GR.1 at N24.

Might be worth the fun to watch people driving cars that are too fast for the track & they for-go the water park & head straight for the beach.

I typically do. I like to get one last warning for how the cold tires on lap 1 will act.

Last time I tried NGP I took the chicane all wrong then turned left straight into the wall at the Nord entrance  I don't do warm-ups or practice anymore. First race at Sarthe no chicane I also took the first chicane like normal (luckily no car close behind me and no barriers)

I like long tracks, Suzuka East, Brand's hatch baby circuit, not for me. Sunday has the fun version of Tokyo in FIA. I had to chose a manufacturer first to find out so I hope Lexus can hold its ground

Racing this evening started out very good, double CRB at Seaside, which put me in the max SR.S lobby, thus back to SR.A. Why can't people drive clean in SR.S. Maybe it was the time since after that race I switched to Monza which got worse every race (so much lag) So after 6 races, SR up to 90+ after the first two, and ending at 51

Yeah. I'm back to not caring about my rating. Was A/S. Did a Race C in the Atenza. Lancer pulls alongside into T1. I'm like c'mon. The race just started. Vantage ahead of me pulls up short on the inside. Lancer pings the Vantage ahead. I'm navigating the turn. Lancer tries to squeeze me more inside. I'm on the kerb and we side connect, sending the Lancer off sideways. No penalty for me.

Cruise around by myself. Run to Lap 7 take the lead exiting the pits and win.

NEXT "race". The GT-R brigade. The players that had other cars before, have now switched to GT-Rs. I'm in the RX-VISION.

I Pause entering T1 as I have the same Lancer player (now in a GT-R) behind me again. The auto-drive sends me on the kerb and I drop some spots.

From there, cars have no grip. I'm having to be careful Nope. Cars behind don't care. SMASH!BOOM!"ME COME THRU YOU!" SMASH SMASH!

Enough! I start offing and punting back. I pit last on Lap 8. RSR is behind me after the first chicane. K go outside it takes inside. Starts tapping me on my right rear. I'm already left! Taps me on the edge of the grass and I have to slow while losing control. I save the car and have a bull's eye on the RSR.

I let a C7 go by. It catches the RSR. RSR proceeds to not give room down the front straight. Moves the C7 to the right and backs off. Into T1, the RSR doesn't want to give room coming out, RSR is now wanting to shove the C7. Bump that. I help the C7 and hang up on the RSR. I bump bump bump it off. No penalty for me. RSR goes of with a penalty. Down to A/red B for me.

Race A. Me and 2nd place were fine until middles of the lap. P3 barges past P2. Coming out of the final turn, same car nudges me and I'm unsettled. Allows the previous P2 to pass me. By Lap 3, I catch and pass P2. Bulls eye ready for P1 revenge. P1 does the normal wide line at the final ess bends. I stuff it up the inside with no contact and dude has to run wide.

I get FL and stay ahead for the last lap. A/red B for me. It's getting tired. I just want to race without the blatant tapping.

Oh man been having some great races on race B. Finally reached A/S (this was my first GT game so I was learning for a while) and was having some great clean battles with other drivers. Apart from the occasional penalty system truck-up I've been surprised at how good the racing has been! In any case, super happy to reach A, thats been my goal since I got GT and my wheel, so thats super cool for me.

I’m watching a replay right now of probably the best race I’ve ever had online. It was race B. I was running a Ferrari facing a Chilean and a Brazilian, both in vipers. It was unreal. I overtook the Chilean driver around the outside at the bottom of the hill because he caught a tire funny entering the uphill esses on a curb and I got a run.
123 wheel to wheel the entire race no contact running under 46.4 all laps!
I’m amazed at how incredible it’s been on B race this week under this penalty system!
Online racing is amazingly fun with people with good racecraft and strict penalties.
I can run dailies from high DR under this system no problem and I did.

This is the best the penalty system has ever been, BY A MILE!

After the total desaster of last weekend this week has been hard work but fun, not really had any unfair penalties but not gotten much for slight rubbing either, had some outstanding racing with flags that have seemed to be the bad boys on track in the past, yes the odd idiot turned up but soon disappeared, the penalty system seemed to work this week for the races I was in but think most of that is down to the guys on track.
Have cut down on the racing trying to only race at set times and it has seemed to work so far with the quality of opposition, making the game loads of fun and well worth the time spent, no matter where I start and finish on the grid. :gtpflag::cheers:
