I posted about the tyre penalty going up a couple of weeks ago during the last Monza Gr3 daily. I crossed the line 5th but got 3rd place.

First...don’t you dare touch anyone at Willow:

I’ll share the replay of my first lap today (no qually) and you’ll understand why it’s annoying. I went with the Megane this race. It ain’t it this time around.

I ended up running one qually lap in the TT cup and went to do some SR repair. CRB is worth 24 SR for those who need it this week. TT is much, much quicker than the Megane, but it chews tires. 7m/7m/1h is what I did but I won by 36 seconds in the penalty box lobby so I’m not sure if it’s a good strategy or not. Pit loss is around 8 seconds.

My guess is, in no particular order, 86, Trophy, 4C, NSX and 650S, for racing anyways.
I was thinking NSX for some reason at first too. Gotta find a nice livery and head out on the track. Don't forget everyone to Qualify on Mediums! Unless you are wanting to start near the back. :dunce:

Edit: I think the 458 might have to come out on track too.

Managed win number 18 at Suzuka, that's out of 2273 races, for perspective
Started P2, got a slightly better launch than P1 held the inside line through T1 & 2 no brakes through the S's and away. :nervous:
For once I didn't blow it, finished 5 secs ahead of P2
The wife is going to complain about being a PlayStation widow this week, ha.

I didn't race at all last week, thought Gr.3 at Red Bull Ring would be a good race... I can't remember the last time I've seen this level of aggression in this game. I don't know if it's still just early in the week or what, even in a lobby where half the drivers are A/S, it's a ****ing mess. Every single corner someone tries to divebomb. I can either go defensive and get rammed, let them through and pray they still don't hit me or worse, let them through and they go wide, rejoin and slam right into me, and I get a penalty.

Maybe if I switch to a car with a bit more drive I can escape the idiots. I get that divebombing is an actual part of racing, but people in this game rarely do it properly. If you can maintain the inside line throughout the corner, go for it. If you dive up the inside and sweep across the entire width of the circuit because you don't know how to trailbrake, you're just cheap. I see the latter about 95% of the time.

I had an Aston going slow and wide into Turn 4 on the final lap, I took the inside very conservatively and made it past cleanly, and they just casually punted me off into Turn 5 and I lost five or six positions. I might check in later to see if things calm down and maybe try to find a car with a bit more pace to see if I can avoid these situations, but if it doesn't improve I'm just going back to racing the AI in ACC again this week. Not worth the frustration.

I tried a couple laps in each of the rear-wheel drive cars at Big Willow. The fastest one for me was the BMW M4. Someone who's really good could probably crack the top 10 with it. I got it within .283 of #10.
Of course, I used an auto trans. I'll try it later with the manual, but I'm not sure how much it will help. M/T usually only makes me faster in street cars.

That's a good suggestion- it does seem light, and will especially seem light compared to the AXC TrueBrake piece I am going to install shortly... but the mapping is strange to me. I didn't notice it for a long time, but when I looked at the throttle bar compared to where I thought I was, I realized that it's really offset and also much narrower than the pedal itself, so the 'window' is not only small, but not where I'm inclined to think it is. It's not as much a problem in getting on the throttle as it is modulating, especially under trail braking scenarios, or trailing throttle when carrying a corner. Wish it was adjustable.

This will explain what you're feeling. https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/non-linear-throttle.366409/#post-12038910

Takes a while to get the hang of it in race A. Such a big HEAVY car compared to what we usually get, and still HARD tires:mad:. Once i started to drive it like a muscle car, cuse it kinda is, i put a decent time down and got more consistent. It really is feeling better almost each lap now.

Ended last week's Dailies with 9 straight CRBs, the most I've ever had. I guess the massive starting gaps at the front at Spa are good for something...

I wanted to try to get to 15 to get the final CRB achievement, but had other things I wanted to do Sunday so I didn't get to race anymore. I somehow doubt I'll be able to get another 6 in a row this week.

For Big Willow, the Audi is noticeably faster than the VW to me. I ran a 1:15.437 in the Audi with about .16 more possible while only a .853 in the VW with about .21 to gain. I can run a .8 in the Viper and it out accelerates any FF car from the start line.
I may stream last to first challenges in the Viper once I get some more practice.

Had a single run out on Willow this morning. Pleasure to share the track with @adokeeffe and also @pantherjag going incognito. Was a messy race, could have tried to race the Womble king had I not binned it the lap before my pitstop with a 2 sec-ish lead but almost 5 to the already pitted group. Still a messy race even in the good rounds. And apologies to Mr(s?) Blur, at the time I didnt realize I tipped them wide getting it back under control. Pack racing at the start leads to some craziness, need you head on a swivel.

The best I've done in the Viper (this week's fastest ATM) is a 1:16.425. How the hell am I going to find another half second? :boggled:

Was a good race, especially sending Lamboss (the bright green car) off at the first corner, after he did the same to me the previous race.

Yeah, there is some definite chaos and revenge playing out there these days. Was debating doing it to a lambo who pushed me wide last night, but was saved by him sorting himself out. As far as I know this guy still cant make that turn. He was missing it all night. Sucks you spun on the last lap though.
