Practiced a lot in Catalunya, started P4 and finished P2 with a clean race bonus. However, the guy in first was so much faster it was disheartening. Like 2, 3 seconds per lap. I'll never win lol.

Buut I don't mind, it was fun and I'm finally back to C. C/S now.
If you got a P2 finish from 4th, you'll get a win. What if that guy wasn't in that race, or isn't in the next. Keeping it on track, and staying out of trouble put you in position to win. It will come!

Please, feel free to criticize me battling this Ferrari. I want to improve, maybe I should have waited? I felt like he punted me on purpose. Anyway, I got a clean race bonus at the end.

I linked the exact timestamp.

Has it been really smoky down there? The sunlight has just been orange here today.

Morning was horrid, ok now

Adding edit:
The only race I cared about today I was brutally brake checked and given a pen when a very fast teammate had gotten one early for 4 sec allowing me to slip ahead from the back up to maybe sixth. I had turned some good laps and got caught up in the cheater sr b people.
I lost several spots and then my teammate got back past.
Yeah that was me.
F u to the player whose name starts with z. You made the list, buddy.
I was pissed at the brake checker so I gave him some dirty moves.
The thing was I lost a chance to compete against someone new who was fast.
That sucked.
Oh well next time I will maybe get to go head to head with ‘secret Santa’ :)

The thing about Monza is, when it’s clean, it’s really a blast. Couple of really run four-car scraps for the win in the first two races I braved today. Out braking or getting on the throttle before the guy in front of you to get a run, it’s pure racing, and when played fairly, what this game should be about. But I don’t expect it to remain that way as the week goes on.

Today was bad, but not at yesterday's level. The heat is supposed to continue tapering off throughout the week but not sure about the smoke... it just goes where the wind pushes it. With idiots starting more every day, not sure when it will abate (eg: baby reveal/smoke bomb fire). PurpleAir.com has good localized AQI readings.

Also, very few homes in the Bay Area were built with AC. Grew up on the Peninsula and never needed/wanted it except for a couple days (maybe 3) a year. Now, in SF there are at least 3 weeks/yr where it is 85+. The fires over the past couple of years are another change - glad we invested in a couple of IQAir filter systems for the house a while back. Replacement filters are expensive but well worth it.

Racing Tokyo from the back. Best was 2nd, up 14 spots. This evening was tougher than earlier. Back of the grid is all about brake checks and blocking after penalties. Had one where my tires were shot at lap 6 (about 30% red), and I was fighting for 13th. I pitted and finished 12th with the fastest lap and a red E. Last race of the night, start 18th of 18 and nothing but penalty flags by T1. I stayed out of trouble in 16th until we hit the zone, and I was in 10th. Top half of this SR-E room was 24's and 25's, so moving forward wasn't a given, but I managed to take 4th, 4 seconds clear of 5th, but down 12 seconds to 3rd. So much wasted time from people who would rather smash anyone who goes by or gets along side, instead of using some skill and re-taking the position. Their loss.
BTW, back to B/B after that final race. It's amazing what a good finish and a few clean laps will do.

Anyone doing Race C? It’s pretty fun! :)

Yeah, it’s one of the best Race Cs! It feels like a sprint race, though Bathurst was more challenging. What’s your quali time? I’ve just moved up to B/S and would like to compare my time with others on GTP.

Also, anyone have any tips for consistency on this track? It’s something I’ve struggled with before.

Looking at my friends list it seems most are in the 1:23-1:25 range. As for consistency, just keep running qual laps until you can do laps that are within a few tenths of each other. Also I would recommend you watch some of the top 10 laps and try to mimic what they do. You can learn a lot like where to brake, turn in, etc. Also check out Mistah's lap guides here https://www.youtube.com/user/MistahMCA .

What’s up with penalties? I was away from the game since October and am just back on a lighter level now. On my return SR dropped from S to B in first few races but I put it down to my not being race fit. After getting ST back to 99 I did 3 races at Monza yesterday and found myself with 34 points and SR C. On L1 T1 of my last race I came to a virtual stop in order to avoid contact and got a 1 sec penalty when someone else hit me from behind. OK, that happens, but when serving the 1 sec I pulled to the far right of the track off the racing line and earned another 2 second penalty when a car rear ended me while I was un ghosting. It seems the system is overly punishing cars that are hit from the rear as though it detects the move as blocking. Oh, and I also missed my brakes on T1 later putting the guy ahead right across the run off area and I received no penalty. Is this a recent change?

Messed up my start(3/12 to 7/12), but that 3rd gear, baby! It's money.

Also got a penalty for avoiding the le'Pewgeots train at the second chicane. CCR let me pass as we dragged down one of the straights. She's cool peoples.

Anyway, P4 was glued to P2 all race. Almost botched it by towing it into the parabolica, but jumps in front of me hard on the brakes while aim braking. I punt it, but it stayed on the track.

Last lap, into the parabolica. Three wide. I'm in the outside side. All three of us stayed clean. My Scirocco, in 3rd gear, stayed with them and pulled P4, while it was behind P2 in the draft! "Scirocket" it is!

Edit: I love SuperGT. Love going fast around Tokyo. People have to understand where to pass.

C race it’s funny when you start from no qual and the guy ahead of you at the start instantly spins sideways and hits you and you get a 3 second infraction less than 3 seconds into the race.

This weeks c contest is the first time I have ever enjoyed or spent more than a few laps at any Tokyo. This particular combo has a nice flow to it.
Sometimes from the back in low ranked rooms it’s hard to tell if the players are blocking swerving on purpose or if that’s just the way they drive...Either way I’m coming through...
On alt, I don’t care...at all...:)

EDIT In order to maximize enjoyment of GTS it’s important to let go.

Some good racing in the first chicane... I appreciated the clean racing amongst this four drivers in a few races at Monza... gifted a win on account of a track limits penalty after this move put me in second. The TT seems pretty good for racing as it has a little more grunt and brakes better, IMO. The draft negates the HP differential to the Peugeot.

The racing with the top 6 in this and another race right afterward proved really fun. Started 5th with a QT of 1:57.0 which was 'good enough' for me to step in and enjoy some races. (though I got a better time on my main account)

also noticed that I have (now) 10 clean race streak going... surprising given the latest penalty system logic, and at A/S DR/SR really surprising. Might have to go for that impossible trophy for 15 in a row...

...avoiding a possibly unintentional dive-bomb at Ascari preserved the win in the end:

you really do need to watch for these at Monza! Or else 50% of the races end in tears.

They actually do seem better at Monza this week, compared to recent races (see my 10 race clean streak!), but yeah, if you've been away from the game awhile I suspect it's brutal to get used to.

(PS: that streak has be gobsmacked... I had no idea I was up to 10 clean races in a row... considering they were all at the Ring and Monza, along with a long FIA race, all in A/S lobbies... I don't know how I managed that. Now I HAVE to get the 15 race trophy...)

Ha, he definitely punted you on purpose!

You were within your rights to go for a move there, the door's open and your nose is juuust alongside but he makes a fractional move towards you and you carried a little too much speed in and as a result used the side of his ferrari as a nice buffer to swing yourself round. If you look back at it, imagine you hadn't made contact at entry - you still end up quite wide on the exit which would have left him nowhere to go. Not a criticism by any stretch, just one of those racing incidents but always worth thinking about relative positions at entry and exit. In the grand scheme of things a move into turn T13 doesn't get you much though, he still would have had the inside for the chicane so you were probably better off focusing on getting a good exit onto the pit straight and then doing him into T1. He went very deep into the hairpin at T10 under pressure from the NSX just before this incident, so we can surmise that the driver might struggle with heavy braking in pressure situations so use that to your advantage, force him to defend and move him off line to where he's less comfortable - then get him into T1, T4, or T10.

I’m surprised no one chooses the Megane on A race.
It’s brakes are tremendous and it’s plenty fast.
I’m sure if a person knew the track they could win with it.
Like c race the 08 Nissan has been pretty wicked too. I like it’s sound and the cockpit has a usable mirror. Brakes are unbelievably good.
Dare to be different!
A lot of the lesser used cars are good if you spend time getting used to them.
@DarkSideNet do you have a gr2 Lexus with a black and white livery?
