Race A is a delicious combo this week. I spent a good chunk of my day there yesterday, and hope to do the same all week. Nothing special to report though, lots of hot laps, and a decent amount of races, that were clean enough and lots of fun.

Yeah, I decided to try it out after I finally realised it was the GP circuit :dunce: (I thought it was at Indy which I don't find as fun). I did 3 races in a row which is rare for me, especially Race A. Satisfying car to drive and clean competition so far.

One downer is race length, so short at 3 laps/5.5 mins and a 10 min wait for the next although I'm sure I'll be back for more.

They really need to start penalising people who ignore the blue flags, the dirty air is bad enough when it's for position but that's just racing so you deal with it. When it's from somebody running a minute off the pace and without the respect to pull out the way there needs to be SR drops/time penalties.

It takes practice, just like anything.

Make a custom race with the AI on the highest difficulty setting on a track and car combo you know well and go out and practice driving close to other cars.

Learn how much earlier you need to brake, get comfortable being close to other cars.

As for being punted you can try being aware of them and going wide to stay safe but you never know when you get divebombed from the back of the s/f straight. It's just one of those things. Don't let it mess with your head.

Every Race, Start middle of the pack, get punted off the track, finish the race 14 out of 18. But if you think about it realistically, if you find yourself getting punted, you need to be the punter. Its only a few seconds of penalty versus getting punted puts you basically out of the race. The punter gets to go on his/her merry way staying in contention. With the current penalty system its a no brainer really, it pays to be a super aggressive MoTard and drive through the whole crowd. I mean lets get real....

In my opinion, after getting hit a few times and ending up at the back, by the time I am under the gun of getting lapped pretty much I am in no mood to be victimized more. I always race as hard as I can until the end, I am not giving up a lap after I have been punted 3 times in a race by some MoTard. Why should I? As I explained in another post, as someone that doesnt get penalized but often gets victimized by idiots at the end of the race (which is over for me) why do I have to move over? The penalty system is set up to advance racers who race dirty not clean racers. Once you are out of the slipstream your finished. One punt off track and your done, if you leave the race it hurts your DR so ever racer has the right to race 100 percent to the end. You need to race accordingly. imho

Finally had a solid outing at RB Thunderdome today, but still getting killed by lap 1 crazies and variable track limits. Had a decent race anyway, but lag issues are killing it with the SR down for me. 3 of those where the car lags into you at the braking zone. From 0.8 gap to touching in a blink. Now to try another one and see if I cam keep it clean and survive.

Anybody got a CRB there yet?

The effective K' speed score gaps for those formulae definitely prove it, too. While I am typically within 2% of the Gr4 cars, I'm working hard to get within double that on the SF cars. The edge is much harder to find, and much more challenging to live on, than wringing out speed from the essentially docile Gr3 cars.

The fact that’s is a short lap doesn’t help the K’Speed Scores either. 1s off pace on a 100s(1:40) lap is 1%, but that same 1s off pace on a 50s lap is now 2%, or .5% on a 200s(3:20) lap. The longer the lap, the better it is for the K’Speed Score. :)

I think it's a cultural thing, in American racing to keep on the lead lap is a thing (Ryan Newman, etc), in pretty much any other country blue flags mean it's not your race get out of the way. With the high downforce cars the dirty air is so bad that you're losing a load of front end grip even from a couple of seconds behind, the blue flags come early enough to find a good place to move over. As for being punted off, it sucks but to end up a lap behind it's probably the wrong person you're getting your own back on.

Unrelated, new PB lap for race C:

Got called a divebomber for doing the same exact move

here’s the move

i left him ton of space since i saw him retaliating to another player,

You can clearly see i backed off the outside because i knew i couldn’t trust him,,

we exchanged messages onwards , and ofc i told him next time i wont leave any space bcs he lost my respect,

If you are on somebody's wing, it's no divebomb. And, you didn't even touch his car. He's just salty because he messed his own race up. I've had it happen many times before. Some people have forgotten what the meaning of sportsmanship is.

got caught in a race on the last lap because of this.

mind you, I binned it to let the guy win, but he wouldn’t have been there if it wasn’t for the dirty air for the half a lap prior.

Its crazy esp those people who start first row and lose some positions , they believe they shouldn’t fight their way back , like everyone should just let them go, they get frustrated when they get challenged hard, i believe they cry “they fight me so hard”

Oh well.time for some demo derby lobbies. Just had a race where 1 muppet decided to simply shove everyone. And going through some vrap outside the game I just lost it and let the red mist of hate descend. After much retaliation and poor punts I am reset again to B/C. I dont get it though. They side swipe me on the straight and I end up with the penalty or SE down? This is ridiculous. Was having an ok race until then.

Saw @D_Dragline in there. Unfortunately one of my failed punts ruined what was left of his race as well. Time for a break.

Hell, I'll race if I'm in a position & can do it cleanly. Sometimes my car's tuning causes some less controlled maneuvers & I might make contact, but it's not intentional. And I just binned a race B where I started on pole & had a 4 second lead. :banghead: SR bucks in B/C lobbies are pennies. Slowly climbing.

those B/C lobbies got people braking in weird places which results to many unintentional punts and penalties, be careful or its gonna be a downward spiral

The SR drops sometimes make no sense. I did around 10 Race C yesterday, most of the time I did not have contact with anybody, but sometimes just some light taps from people behind into heavy braking zones, no penalties, but SR drop after the race.

These Super Formula cars are cool, but I can’t seem to find more qualy time at the Red Bull Ring and racing in the back is just too tense. I really like the Max Verstappen livery, but I don’t deserve it. Gonna search for a Romain Grosjean Haas and I might get back out there.

4 good races at C tonight. Once you get through the first lap, you can have some really awesome racing.

My alt is finally back to SR 99. It was a journey lol

same bs happened to me too, grinded so hard and yesterday I have finally reached DR A again. It was very discouraging when I got the reset as I was punted so many times in only two races and got the massive SR drops.

How to drive and annoy everyone else. I've left out the clips where they do stuff like shift to 2nd in the final coupe of turns and park it just to give people behind SR downs.

And yes, I am responsible for my reset, but this guy was horrific.

Shoot, I raced with this dude yesterday but mostly he was clean, I think he got upset?

Race C was the only one that I was interested in and it's been utter chaos for me.....I managed to get my SR up to B/A this morning after a few painful races that got me down to B/B from B/S rating. I'm now ending the night with B/C....I failed to record save some of the replays so I have no way to explain all the carnage that I've been a part of. Penalty highlight for tonight - I got hit from behind and the guy somehow spun into the wall and I'm the one who get an SR down with a 4 sec penalty for forcing another racer off the track...eeh..what???. In another race, I got pushed off the track and i got slapped with a 3 sec penalty for causing a collision....I just don't know anymore :irked:. I'm well aware that the penalty system is not the greatest and as frustrating as it has been, it's not even the main problem....the main problem is the racing which is just downright disgusting in the lobbies that I've been in :yuck::banghead:....yeah, I think that's it for me, I'm giving up on this week!! Hopefully there'll be a better combo next week so I can get my rating up :indiff:.

By the time you hit me, I had already been a victim of his 3 times. Lap 1, and twice on Lap 2. My race was ruined by his filthy driving. I was absolutely loving that you had lined him up and my only disappointment was that you didn’t quite nail him. I appreciated that you waited, It wasn’t necessary.

That race was the epitome of why the penalty system is so broken. The guy simply pushed or punted every single player in front of him and ended up with a blue S. Those of us who got punted/pushed all lost SR. Frustrating madness. It seems that the system considers driver level when attributing blame for contact. So if you’re level 40+ you are much more likely to be penalized than someone at level 20. The problem is lower level drivers game this and use it to give double the penalty to higher level drivers. PD should remove this from their systems for it will improve things for everyone.

Like most fantasy tacks in reverse layout Sardegna A feels awkward like it was never designed to go that way. The braking zone into the first hairpin (T6?) and the last braking zone being the most awkward of all imo.

Back to RBR.

@charmcharmchu and @D_Dragline I had been in some clean races with this driver as well so dont really know what happened. I was a bit upset that I caught other drivers in revenge attempts, but the 2 best attempts I had, the game ghosted me. And penalized me anyway.

For whatever reason this driver was all over the place during the race, and would defend to the death, as seen by them pushing others off when he has a bad exit. He kept shifting in the braking zone as well, leading to pile ups behind. Just a total disaster of a race.

Only 1 driver wasn't ranting about them post race. Sad thing is that until they started really doing stupid stuff there were 5 of us having a great back and forth race at the front.

Oh we. Another day another muppet. I think I win muppet call for engaging them.

I do agree with your assessment of the flow, but I'm sad to hear you say that it's less entertaining than RBR.

And with that 36th win, my DR on my main account has crept back to the highest of my 3 accounts.

FIA day. Probably grinding for DR.
