You would be better racing anyway as you can just be sensible and take any really slow guys making your DR drop as small as possible.
It can be tough when you're following slower drivers who start doing crazy things to each other, right in front of you.
Another common situation is when you go past a fast driver who went off track, or is serving a penalty. You end up stuck between him and the slower cars, and he usually wants to get back ahead you pretty badly.
Even when trying to be as clean as possible, you can wind up in bad situations.
That's why I was wondering if the pit strategy gives you points.

It’s VERY tough in the lower rooms to get crb. Especially GR2 Fuji. I dunno how people find so many ways to make the most unpredictable mistakes. It’s ridiculous.
At low sr also half the field quits after wiping out a few cars (c c D E etc)
Honestly the game causes me NOT to enter when I’m saving both accounts for FIA.
You better believe if I run across my nemesis I’ll be trying to annihilate him twice if possible.
Anyways tho it’s SOOOO PAINFUL to go to low sr anymore...Most dailies I wouldn’t dream of entering because it’s too easy to get SR down.
It’s not protecting DR in my case it’s SR.
I would have liked to try some A races this week, but not if I can’t control the SR.
No way is it woryh hours of grind to recover SR just for one lap at LeMans. Same with B race and C is a Tilke track and those are just horrible for online.
I’m over getting bombed five times a lap in GR2 and getting mad and taking revenge then getting reset and spending hours grinding. Just done.
I’ll race only sensible races.

Race B is great fun but doesn't work well with the current penalty system. I'm quickly running out of SR. I lost 18 SR in 1 race. Car ahead hit the wall then quickly changed his line to swerve block my path, SR down for me. Car slid, lost control and I tapped his bumper (nowhere to go and sandwiched) and got 1 sec. Then another 4 secs for grazing his door before he went into the barrier. I'm not sure what I could had done in this situation other than hit auto-drive and ghost myself.

It really depends on where you start.
I began the week by doing about 20 A races from the back. I probably got about 15 SR downs in those races.
Then, I got fed up, and qualified. I've done about 20 more races since qualifying, with 0 SR downs. :)

Tried Race A this morning. Was mostly fun. Got a clean race but only but by assuming the worst of other drivers and avoiding bombs. Do they think brakes work different in the race?

-9 SR for contact/only +1 SR for Clean Race Bonus has got be the dumbest ratio ever.

people just don't knw how to race, even when trying to be cleanish. Passing anywhere but T1 is plain stupid unless someone makes a mistake. Final corner would be OK too but that leaves you a sitting duck into...... T1. between T1 and final turn, absolutely forget passing, it is NOT going to happen cleanly.

Looky here, I am not perfect but you can see on the final lap I try to be patient before pouncing.

I know the option I used when I needed to get SR back fast was to park it in the pits for a lap, then go back out. You are ghosted so free and clear to cruise for SR

I'm reeling from all of those wrongly placed penalties. City courses are just too deadly, vicious SR killers thanks to players driving so aggressively and dangerously. I wanna try out some of the daily races this week but I just fear of a DR reset.

Yeah the 1.5 I copped for being hit up the bum hurt as I lost what, 4 places or so. It's a tricky corner that left as the fastest way through the complex is to enter a touch slower and power out hard so you carry max speed through the right hander down the hill. But that little pause to take a tight line caught the guy behind me off guard and he collected me. He was pretty clean for 3 races so he did not mean it. Still, how is it my fault?

I have lost a total of 2 SR points in 3 nights in race B, need t pick your battles though and concede more often than not. In the video above the tussle exiting T1 on lap 1, i could have been more forceful as I feel he had no right to that line but i let it be.

I didn't attempt any passing until the straight. I couldn't avoid split second driving line changes and a car suddenly sliding in front while a driver was right behind me.

It's nothing new, I've seen many block at Tokyo after making a mistake or serving a penalty to compensate for it. The current system rewards them while punishing the driver being blocked with SR down.

Talking about Race B, i had 2 dr resets this week (both are not by my fault in anyways) and if you could watch those races you could lose your faith in humanity. There are evil people! I mean that! How can they satisfy themselves with the thing they are doing! They aint racing!
I will never let them unpunished! One is done, will meet with the other one day...

Might have lost my cool a few times today in Race B but I swear some of these folks would test the patience of Jesus. The amount of times I have spent grinding wall because some *expletive deleted* thinks coming across the entire width of the track on the straight in to pin you to the wall is valid race defence.

Been doing some Race C instead and mixed results. I tend to start at the back and some races I manage to make it to around 10th just by staying out of trouble while others I seem to be driving through treacle so stay at the back. I am still not comfortable with the track especially the climb through the corners leading up to the straight.

Oh well at least I am not being bashed into walls, every cloud and all that

+1
One French guy i know, pig dirty, pushed me to the pit entrance. Got 4sec penalty and finished the race first. This is unacceptable!

Nothing to fear. If it happens, it's only temporary.
It's kind of fun to work your way back up through the ranks.
The more you worry about DR points, the less fun you'll have.
See, I would do that, but after being stranded in DR B for many, many months, and finally trying my ass off to break out and reach DR A, where the racing is much more respectable, I don't wanna lose it all due to other players' poor racecraft, and with the volatile state of the penalty system, it can happen in the blink of an eye. No disrespect to anyone with a lower DR intended, you all are trying your best like I am, but B/S daily race lobbies anymore are exactly as it says on the tin, except without the slash between the two letters.

Had this wonder boy in race A 3 times Monday. This time karma came back. Not quite instant, but good enough.

Got themselves in an accident, no-one to blame. :sly:

BTW, been seeing a lot of press about this Yaris GR this week, a pretty well organized media blast here on GT Sport and social media. It's actually a damn well-sorted out car... a legit pocket rocket. Maybe not ideal for Lemans... but a fun car IRL from the looks of it. Check out the massive brakes!

there is a major flaw on race A at the end of the lap IMO

If someone bashes you on the two turns at the end and you inadvertently take a shortcut, you get reset
so you lose about 3/4 seconds (maybe more), plus track position
it would be fairer to allow the shortcut and penalise the bashed driver 1/2 seconds

There's a dude who shoved me into the pits at Tokyo East Outer Loop about a year ago.
I have his name written down. If I ever see him again, I won't give a damn what my rating is at the time, the walls will be coated in his blood.
Can't wait. :mischievous:

I don't have a nemesis. Just a few knuckleheads.

This dude. Punts everyone ahead of him, during Warm Up. I was A/A and since he was in the Vantage harassing people early on, I smashed the bedookie out of him at the esses after T1 at Tokyo. "Bye Felicia.".

Won't see him for a long while. He tumbled down to B/B after that race, with a red B.
