Oh man, the track is not exactly as I remember it! Took me 3 goes at the 3rd sector to gold circuit experience . Can't brake shift and turn at the last second like I used to be able to in GT4 . Fun in the puffer fish though :p.
Same issues at sector 3, though I think it took me six tries to gold that sector. When I finally did, was nearly 4 seconds under gold time :D
It's going to take me a few more laps to make that consistently repeatable, learning curve might be slightly affected by number of brews consumed....

I decided to hold off on testing last night and instead wait for the update. Everyone’s cool with 3 bonus races at Laguna Seca right?

👍 👍

I remember a time when you could drive cars nearly flat out through the left that pointed you toward the corkscrew. Now, whoa there fella. You had better downshift for that.

Laguna Seca is already in the circuit experience and the penalty system was updated? Am I still dreaming?

The first thing I did was do the circuit experience for LS.

That was all I did last night. Tried to drive like when I last saw it in GT4 and had to redo every section 2 or 3 times until I stayed on track. That and I haven't driven the viper prior to this :scared:

Other than that I just wasn't in the mood, but Laguna Seca is going to be nice

The Viper is great once you get some seat time. Maybe that's why I only had to re-do a couple of those segments due to not knowing the speed that I could confidently go.

Hey guys, thread is live for the IRS Blancpain Intercontinental GT Challenge!!

I wouldn't get too excited about Leguna on Friday. There may be no one left to do Friday night racing.

Judgment day has arrived. It's over 100F, the sun has disappeared behind a veil of dark grey smoke and ash is falling from the sky. The apocalypse is here!!!!!

Seems like the fires are never ending over there. Had some of your ash over our beach this afternoon. Keep cool over there while you can

Yeh, It's 6:30 (ish) and it's cooled down. I went out to water my crops (two corn plants). Gotta use a watering can... they upped the anti with the water restrictions on Monday.

I did the Mid Engine race at Leguna. Far out.. slicker 'n'snot. I was hoping to win the American way (bute force ). All that got me was cars that were drag cars and no amount of turning or slowing down could get them to turn. I won both of the new races ... with the X-Bow :lol:. Yeh, 1000+hp cars thrashed with a glorified kart!

I've been thinking of you guys. I'm south of the border in "Mexico" but we're sharing your smoke. I've been keeping an eye on the RFS site, my wife has been up near Coffs for several weeks.
Hope you remain safe.

The Porsche Taycan is really good fun at Laguna Seca, choosing it makes you popular too :sly:

Does it make you "look good"?

It's cooled down a bit at least. Your wife should be fine... banana trees are full of water!

So these are Friday night at 9PM EST? (thought I saw some mention of saturday in the comments...) I may try to join y'all this week since I don't have my normal Friday evening shift at the brewery. Just need to get a couple cups of glogg into my wife so she goes to bed early.

You guys may lap me on Race A, though. I can't drive that thing worth a damn.

Hey Fellas, thanks again for coming out last night!! :)

Tomorrow BR’s will be..

Mazda TC @ LS on SS tires.

Gr3 911 vs Gr3 Vette @ LS, RM tires.

New Ford GT @ LS, SS tires.

I’ll get the lap counts sorted out tonight. :)

No Taycan? :confused::lol:

Fair enough, haha. I'm tired this morning.
In fairness, these races were run Saturday until less than three months ago so there's probably lots of references to that in the earlier parts of the thread.

Well, you're 2 weeks straight that I don't have to run to the Brand Central with minutes to spare.

Stay safe down there.

I had to trailbrake to do LS on gold. Trailbrake!? Can you believe that. I, who never trailbrake...

Trailbraking is da (dive)bomb ;)
Seriously, it's worth significant time off total elapsed race time in any race that doesn't have ludicrous tyre wear multipliers.

What? We'll be in Cali and no electric cars?:dunce::lol::sly:
Nice
