Damage preview at Tokyo Game Show?

It's been pretty quiet for a while now ... hopefully they've got something up their sleeves for their premier home games convention!
 
I actually had a dream that I was at TGS and they showed damage and it was incredibly realistic.

I hope it was a premonition, lol
 
Think its a pretty good chance witht this promised fall update.. Lets keep hoping!
 
Well i've always been one to believe damage is unnecessary and will only add to the game being delayed. The only thing i would like to have is some extra vehicles and the ring. With that i will be satisfied.
 
I can't help but be pessimistic about it. Maybe it's because of their record.

I really, really want to believe, but sounds too good to be true.

its more like a fantasy :dopey: but GT5:P is not the only game right now in deep need of update :nervous: other tittle that as online like B:BC
 
i believe PD will show Damage of GT5:p in TGS. I had a dream again including damage hahaaaa

I think PD are under pressure to include damage just because every driving game released recently has it.
 
Yes definitely PD under damage pressure. Damage does not important to me either.
All i want Friend list and Nurnburgring

The most important thing for GT5 Prologue at the moment is undoubtedly the presence of private room. Everything else is not that important to me. :bowdown:
 
Everyone says that if GT5 will have damage, I think PD stated the same, is that they wanted to do damage RIGHT. I am bit worried about it, sure I bet the cars will have decreased amount of performance once hit something, but I think it wont be made RIGHT. I believe PD will have slight Body damage with slight to medium performance changes.

We really do not have any news on how DAMAGE will be like, and that is a big worry, PD always advertizes on what new cars will be in game, like the new Ferrari Cali, New Citroen Concept, or even a new and old LAMBO, but they did not even show us ONE single pictures of how car has visible damage. And seems it is taking them long time.
I really hope that once you crash, game over with the car, either fix it or buy a new one. I doubt that will happen until GT6. But at least PD should have minor to medium body damage but Med-to High Performance decrease.

I also worry about 24-hour cycle and at least Rain effects.
I guess small preview on Weather effects is that SNOW in the main menu screen with wet ground. But I do not think PD will make a game with RAIN effects and 16 cars at same time, if they succeed I would be amazed.

Sometimes from PD you can expect so much but get so little and sometimes expect nothing and get alot. Lets see.
 
cynic that i am, i'd be (pleasantly) surprised to see damage at all in a gt game

i hope to be proven wrong, but i have my doubts

That's exactly what i use to think.I do not believe they can pull of 16 cars, weather effects,1080p resolution, 60 frames AND damage model at the same time.That's just impossible! (And if we are honest we know that the game does not even run now with 60 frames, without all that extra stuff.)

Eutechnyx did very sucessfuly it on Ferrari Challenge (rain looks damn amazing there), and they also opted for 1080p software upscale from native resolutin in-game - same as GT5:P. So, I guess PD can do it with their knowledge and tools even better.

I dont care about damage just make new futers online or graphical upgrades thats what i want to see (red brake discs, flames from the exhaust!) and new cars and tracks! Porsche... hmmmm
