How's everyone's impressions of TTK so far? I'm getting tomorrow (2 days late and having no clue as to what will happen) and I'm looking for some opinions.
By playing the taken king, you will begin to realize, once again, how rubbish 80% of the original game was. Its so, so very good. I 100% recommend it.How's everyone's impressions of TTK so far? Indeed. When should we begin?@Chameleon9000, still up for that run through of the original story
what time do you usually play (gmt) we could work around that firstIndeed. When should we begin?
i am 6pm - whenever, i have been know to do all nighters beforeI usually start at around 11PM-1AM Gmt. You?
I am at 289 light. I think i could be at 290, but i wanted to look cool.Level 40. 293 Light.
Legendary engrams (and drops!) out the bum.
Exotic engrams out the bum.
Telesto. Hawkmoon. Invective. Yup, my luck hasn't changed at all.
I am fully prepared knowing I'm not getting anything from the raid. This is how it always goes down.

I have only gotten the hereafter sniper rifle. Really want telesto. Is it fun?
Quick question, is it still feasible to do VoG normal starting from lv. 25-26 and Crota normal starting from lv. 27-28, or have they scaled them more towards end game?
They're still end game activities, but they're considerably easier than King's Fall. As for feasible, that's entirely your call: have you done either before? If no, then I'd absolutely suggest doing both at least once on normal and heroic but the drops are going to cap at 170 so you'll probably scrap them instantly, however, the experiences themselves (VoG more so than Crota's End) are worth the trouble in and of themselves.
If you're just doing them for the hell of it, then why not.
Speaking of King's Fall, it is incredible by all means.
I've done both multiple times on the Xbox One version before TTK, but I'm starting all over on the PS4.
When you say that the weapons cap at 170, does that effectively mean those raids are now useless for maxing out your character?
Most likely yes. You can get to 34 with them but not really any further. I did hear that they will be re-releasing some of the raid weapons though.I've done both multiple times on the Xbox One version before TTK, but I'm starting all over on the PS4.

It's not end game though. Think of it as a chapter and a chapter review. You cannot realistically complete any TTK content until you at least get through majority of the game. VoG, due to the immediate boost to level 25 available, could be tried at once, but it still won't be easy. Because of the changes in gun structure, you're going to need to re-think how to do the raids. It is a shame though that the Y1 raid weapons do not offer an immediate upgrade or infusion choice.Hmm, seems pretty strange as that's a sizeable chunk of end-game content gone from the game. Surely they could have re-engineered the raids to make them tougher and give Y2 goods as a reward?
Have they done the same thing with Prison of Elders?
I found a weird old gun that the Gunsmith broke down today into just experience points. It'll be in the rotation again, and it's getting nerfed anyway.
So, yeah. Oh and the Y2 Black Hammer is also broken so there's also that.
They were doing so well and now it's slowly creeping down the same 🤬 mountain all over again.
I'm pretty sure you are talking about the items that pop up as legendary and look like fusion rifles but show up in the missions slots right? If so there is a lot of talk on reddit about those maybe being for the Sleeper Simulant exotic fusion rifle. I'm just happy they help raise my gunsmith for these class exclusive guns and for getting more options when turning in the arms day orders.I found a weird old gun that the Gunsmith broke down today into just experience points.
Also, grabbed all of the test guns with all 3 characters. All of them can be done on patrols.
I want a new scout rifle. Despite being underpowered I killed Oryx using my VoC.I'm pretty sure you are talking about the items that pop up as legendary and look like fusion rifles but show up in the missions slots right? And you'll definitely want to do all of the gunsmith stuff the level 2 fusion rifle Susanoo good charge time and impact, the elemental perk is a little odd and not all that useful but makes the gun unique at least and in my experience the impact makes it so the thing tears though most shields weather the types match or not. This thing is more or less permanent on my secondary slot for my warlock. It will take a very good sniper rifle to displace this thing and I hated fusion rifles before this.
And then there is the Tlaloc scout rifle. I already have a bias towards scout rifles and while nothing will replace Mida in my heart this thing has replaced it in my load out. I just wish I could buy more for the other characters.
You get one for doing the taken champions quest line with Petra in the reef, you also have to do the wolves on Mars and then a Lost and found quest line from Petra and she will hand you a 290 Boolean Gemini scout rifle.I want a new scout rifle. Despite being underpowered I killed Oryx using my VoC.
