Been waiting for an exotic sniper rifle to turn up, so I will be purchasing myself an Ice Breaker!

I was lucky enough to get the ice breaker from a legendary engram before the patch. Its a really nice weapon it can take out most things with 1 critical hit as the crits do 5.2K damage.

Yes I'm leveling it up now, The unlimited/rechargable ammo function is brilliant, Will be so usefull for strikes where one synthethis of sniper ammo doesn't get you far (12 shots) and yes the damage potential feels great and I havnt unlocked an upgrade yet. :)

Yes!!! It takes around 5-6 seconds to recharge one shot with a max of 6 shots. :)

On the upgrades screen it describes the feature as. No Backpack - Cannot be reloaded. Regenerates ammo over time.

Yeah it recharges automatically up to 6 shots. You cannot pick up ammo for it but it doesn't take that long to recharge and the damage it does is amazing.

It's not that good. I run out of ammo with it all the time when I'm taking down one of them big things in the Divide Public Events.

Was debating between the badass Chest peice and Ice Breaker

Then realized that the armor was worse than what I already have. As with everything I've been getting.
 
This game needs new events. I finally have Ice Breaker and Monte Carlo and nothing to really use them against.
 
Got my pocket infinity this morning.. pretty fun weapon. Need to level it up to get the perks for more fun.

I had to edit my post about the Bad Juju.. in PVE it is pretty bad against anything with a shield.
 
Last night was one of the best days I have had in Destiny since the first week it was released. Made some major progress this week and yesterday everything went VERY well.

1. Reached level 2 with my FWT sponsor
2. Reached level 2 with the Vanguards and purchased my first legendary boots!
3. Fully leveled up my Supremacy legendary sniper!
4. Cryptard gave me my very first legendary helmet from an encryption. (sold for shards)
5. Purchased a legendary Warlock bond with vanguard points.
6. After completing the weekly nightfall I received a legendary primary hand cannon that I actually like a lot!
7. Fully leveled up my exotic Ice Breaker gauntlets
8. Fully leveled up my legendary robe
9. Plus I went from level 27 1/4 to level 28 1/4!
10. Then to top all that off I will be unlocking my Exotic primary pulse rifle Bad Juju once I complete 10,000 crucible points tonight.

So with all that said, I am now in MUCH better shape for the raid especially after tonight when I unlock the Bad Juju. :D
 
I'm not far from Lvl 2 Vanguard.

Do you have a better chance of Legendary drops and unencrypted engrams if your Vanguard Lvl is high?

I have got tons of drops today and they all ended up being rare and hunks of trash. At least my weapon parts collection is up.

I'm lvl 3 vanguard and have to say I've not noticed any improvements with engrams.

On a side note, do you get Shards for getting rid of legendary gear???

Yes. You usually get 2 shards per item but last night I got 3! This has been easily one of THE best weeks I have had in Destiny. The updates and patches are indeed greatly improving this game each week.

Not all legendary gear gives you shards - Queens armor and Iron Banner armor does not. The queens armor was very quickly and easily had so they patched it because people were farming it for shards, why that was a problem .. I have no idea. Only legendary armor had from drops, PVP or PVE or engrams, bought from the Vanguard vendor, the cruicible vendor, or one of the faction vendors (FWC for example) will give you shards.

Edit - legendary items won from ranking up factions (Vangaurd, Cruicible, FWC, Cryptach, etc) will also turn to shards..


Actually would have been a lot easier to just say.. Beware Queens Armor and weapons from the Queens Wrath event and items from Iron Banner won't give you ascendant materials but all other legendary and exotic items will :dunce:

I got to Vanguard rank 3 the other day and havnt seen much difference in my luck with engrams. Opening 25-30 or so today I got 2 purples. 2 warlock chest pieces. The only character I havnt made yet.... :(

The main reason I grinded enough to get to Vanguard 3 was the ability to buy the Legendary weapons ofcourse. Problem is I'll have to wait untill Tuesday to ge able to buy one because of the stupid 100 mark limit and 150 pricetag. I'm missing a legendary Auto rifle so my first purchase will be the Shadow price. A very solid auto rifle by all accounts. I've decided to go with the vanguard Armada suit of armor with my exotic being my "an unsurmountable skullfort" helm.

My free legendary weapon from the postmaster when I reached level 3 was the comedian shotgun.... Meh.

Weekly heroic on 28, Vanguard tiger strikes, daily events, rare engrams might decrypt into them.

Definetly the weekly heroic strike on 28. If you have 3 characters you could make 27 coins from one week.
 
Man, if a Blue engram could actually give me something better than what I have already, that'd be great.

Not asking for Exotics, just something not 5 levels below what I got already.

So items you get are per character but can be used by anybody?

Think I might have to create another character, to rank up again in assume it's best to go through the story again?

Yes you can put the strange coins in the vault for your main character. Same goes for ascendant energies/shards. It was so painfull levelling my 2nd char that i m reluctant to start a third, Which I really should as have collected a few good legendaries already for a warlock.

Edit - Oh my some good luck with the cryptarch for once, Remember me saying a need to wait untill Tuesday to buy the shadow price (much needed legendary auto rifle) from the vanguard? Will I just picked up a legendary engram and the cryptarch was kind enough to give me one!!!! :D

And while hunting for spirit bloom chests in venus I opened a chest with a special ship blueprint, 10 bloom and 2 blue engrams. Not a bad mornings work. :)

@priesty_lfc ,when are we ok to do the nightfall then. I nearly solo'd it earlier but got stuck in a rock and got one shot by a dreg melee :)
The Ice Breaker is perfect for it. I've got to level 28 with all legendary and exotic gear.

I've not been on this weekend due to house stuff,

I'm 27 hunter with lvl300 scout rifle, 257 sniper and X2 257 machine guns.
 
Im stuck at lvl 26 because of damn ascendant shards. 6 per upgrade? fine. 3 of those upgrades per armour, sometimes 4? WOW! I also need more friends to play with. None of my freinds have destiny.:grumpy:

If we take it slow, It will be easy. Using the icebreaker yesterday made it rather simple. Have you got one?

@Clark - If you were wondering why I Havoc'd when you were behind me I was waiting for whoever it was on the opposing team to come up and try capturing the point, and then you were there.

Finally made it to Lvl 25 today and got my first two Legendary armour bits. I had to buy from the Vanguard but hey-ho.

My weapons are still lagging behind at Lvl 19s so I'm still stuck grinding Vanguard XP for a little while. I just need to get this lot:

80 helium filaments
18 Ascendant Shards
50 Hadronic Essence
4250 Glimmer

To Lvl up my new chest armour and similar amounts for my kicks. The main grind at the moment for me is helium filaments.
