Well I need to get 25 strikes this week for my exotic gun bounty so strikes will be my main focus this week. I will probably do a lot of Tiger strikes and try the nightfall at lest once a night. It will be so nice to go from a rare primary weapon directly to an exotic primary weapon. :)

I should also be able to buy legendary boots by this weekend too once I get the crucible points.

Also these are the updates today. http://www.bungie.net/7_Hot-Fix---10072014/en/News/News?aid=12255

and Iron Banner playlist in Crucible (which I will avoid) http://www.bungie.net/7_Iron-Banner/en/News/News?aid=12258

NOTE: The following update will be applied at approximately 7AM Pacific on Tuesday, October 7th. The maintenance window for this work will interrupt Destiny services for several hours. You will be unable to play the game during that time.

Summary
Most of the changes included in this update will improve the technology that enables players to connect to Destiny. The player experience will remain unchanged, aside from the stability for some users who have encountered issues connecting to servers.
Client fixes
  • Added more data logging for matchmaking systems
  • Improved connectivity failure handling to reduce beaver (Kick To Orbit events) KTOs
  • Improved logging of player disconnections
  • Internal tools fixes to speed up our release process
  • Fixes to the roster system to allow us to tune the frequency of roster updates on Xbox One
  • Fixed a bug that allowed users to quick scope on some weapons
Server Fixes
  • Security fixes
  • Server performance improvements
  • Fixes to reduce the frequency of some KTOs
  • Better logging to help diagnose connectivity problems
  • Fixes to some Centipede errors that were exclusive to specific player characters

I just need help on getting void light kills in crucible since I suck at multiplayer .

I Haven't touched it in a while.

PvP just gets insanely infuriating when all I do is get owned time after time, which will most likely be it with all the Exotic armor and weapons people have now.

If we have just PS4 users we can create a private party and do it. Therefore each person can achieve required goals for exotics. I'd love to help with that if needed.

I did valut of glass last night and beat it! I'm the proud owner of a valut of glass weapon, shader, and cloak

Also it's worth noting that:

1. You can only have 1 exotic weapon and 1 exotic piece of armor. So, there's no such thing as people with "all exotics"

2. Weapons and armor regardless of rank deal/take the same amount of damage so an uncommon and exotic rifle will deal the same damage even with those rank differences. Low ranks will take the same amount of damage as everyone else and so will a high ranked player.

So when you go into PvP it's less emphasis om gear and more on gear/weapon abilities+skill

True, still doesn't change my point that we should try for a group.

I also still don't care for the PVP in this game. Haven't played the Crucible in at least 2 weeks and usually only play with friends. If it wasn't for the necessary crucible points and the exotic bounty, I probably wouldn't touch the mp. I have always been a person that prefers co-op over vs.

I wish I had friends to do a Raid with......;). I haven't had an opportunity to do one, if anyone on Xbox one needs another person, message me. GT- Def Oso

The Raid is really not something that just happens. It has to be planned in advance with 6 players and an insane amount of communication and patience. EVERYONE has to be communicating. If you have never attended the raid you will also need to plan on at least 4-6 hours minimum if you plan on getting through the entire thing. Otherwise the host can save at each checkpoint. I think there are 6 total sections. So maybe 5 save areas? Regardless, this is usually something you will want to try and plan over the weekend. I also recommend you are at least level 27 or higher. Legendary or exotic weapons will also help. AND you will want at LEAST 1 warlock.

So why don't we GTPites with an Xbox one combine and schedule a day to do the raid together?

I am available pretty much anytime, I am down for that.

Saturday seems to work the best for me in terms of a Destiny Raid. BUT I am not sure if I will be in a different raid with friends or if I will be available to help others with the raid. Might even have to consider making a Destiny Raid thread.

Keep in mind it does have 5 or 6 save sections so I could jump in at any time and help. Or even start my very own raid. Doesn't matter to me. But I am willing to help others for sure.

I made a thread for the X1 raid.

I'm on PS3 currently, but I'm getting a PS4 relatively soon, end of October-ish, and will be a lot more active on the weekends hopefully.

That's normal crucible play though, In iron banner the gear you have does count. That's the whole niche of the event.

Ugh. Iron Banner is exclusive multiplayer pvp. If it's not team-based I will be less than useless in this mode.

Got my first legendary weapon, Doctor Nope, today. Looks slightly OP with a 72 round mag, but whatever.

It's mostly control. At least all I had was control matches.

I solo'd this week's Nightfall and imagine my surprise when I find one of my most sought after exotics:

Nice! Now get the hawkmoon to replace it ;)

My first time posting here, but I've been playing since launch. I started out doing only crucible with all 3 characters, and just started doing PvE stuff Saturday.I've only done one weekly strike and never attempted a nightfall. I'm starting to find the PvE more enjoyable than the PvP stuff, which is weird for me since I've always hated playing vs AI. The iron banner is not what I was expecting either... Its pretty bland tbh.,

I have this, crazy recoil.

Auto rifles are not really my thing button using it quite alot as I can't upgrade my scout rifle any further until I get ascendant energy :(

EDIT- is anybody about and can you advise what hunter leg armour is currently in the Vanguard (I need extra scout rifle ammo)

I did it yesterday, but got nothing special. You're a crazy lucky boy...

It depends on the auto rifle. I usually prefer auto rifles with lower rate of fire and higher impact. They usually deal more damage with better accuracy and much less recoil.
I usually go for an auto rifle in strikes. And a hand cannon or a scout rifle for patrolling.

Yesterday I did the Nightfall strike with a friend. We found a perfect place to hide without being shot at. Just go to the end of the map (to left of the sarcophagus that contains the final boss) and jump on the rocks. 2 players can stand there. Then you just need to shoot the bad guys that pop out in the cave on your right and the Vandals that will try to snipe you from the platform at the other end of the map in front of you... But if you stay crouched, the Boss and his minions will not reach you from below. Then throw grenades, shoot rockets and unload your guns on the boss's head from above. It takes a long time but it works.

I got 9 strange coins, ascendant energy and 4 engrams (but not exotic rifle). :D

And guess what? I now have 23, yes, 23 Strange coins. Which means that I'm really waiting for Xûr now...

Think I'll try this today, Any tips or things to take into consideration while doing it?
Tip one: see my previous post for the place where you can hide... and be very patient.
Tip two: the final boss is more susceptible to Void damage. If you have a rocket launcher with Void damage, it will be more efficient...
Tip three: I suggest at leat 2 players for this, and both can hide on the top of the rock. I say 2, since while one is shooting or throwing grenades at the boss, the second one will be able to cover him by shooting at the cave and the platform on the opposite side of the area and take out all Collectors and Vandals that pop out from there (this is important as these are the only ones that can hit you when you're on top of the rock and kill you or make you fall right on the boss...).

This time, your patience will be much rewarded. :D

I sure was wrong about the Nightfall being easy against the Archon priest. I joined a friend that was level 29 and another that was 28. I am a 27 with crappy primaries. Lets just say I was less than worthless. I could not even drop the shields. So after about 4 tries it just wasn't happening with me in their group.

On a good note, I am now up to 10/25 strikes for my exotic strike weapon. Really trying to focus as much time as possible to get that bounty finished by the weekend. After I farm about 30 spirit bloom I should be able to fully level up my Legendary sniper and a couple other things. By this weekend my character should be a level 28 and a huge improvement overall. I will also be able to buy legendary boots once I get some crucible points.

RAID update. It was reset so now you have to start over. I also found out last night that if you have a REALLY good team, you can beat the first part of the raid with the 3 circles, in.......10 minutes or less. We did it twice last night just to help friends get the first chest.

You can vary between the advice already provided by @LJP64 and what I'm about to list and see what works best for you.

1. Every elemental modifier is up for grabs in this week's challenge. Use every one of them to your advantage.
2. Be cautious, especially around those satanic things known as hobgoblins. Pick them off one at a time with a sniper rifle.
3. Have a sniper rifle (void, arc, solar, it really doesn't matter) and plenty of special ammo syntheses.
4. When you get to The Cinders there's a perch near the top (there are two that you can use to your advantage to pick off each and every one of the enemies; this is where you'll most exercise the third and fourth tips). Do not be a hero and rush all the way down as you'll be jeopardizing your progress, almost as if you're auctioning yourself off for death.
5. Once you get to the Ash Coves you can hop on the pike and carefully assault enemies or you can run through the area and pick them off yourself. I did the latter as I was too worried about the pike potentially holding me back and making me wide open.
6. Finally you're at Winter's Run. Play it very carefully here and pick off the enemies as you can, use any cover you can and when you feel you're in too much danger (and you have a safe path) run right back to where you entered, recollect yourself, and hug that corner and pick off any remaining enemies until it's time to let the Archon Priest out of his cell.
7. If you're doing this alone and you don't want to worry about dying and starting back from jump street, there's a platform that you can hide under adjacent to the Priest's cell (you'll see the opening if you run past trying to get on top of the platform that faces the left side of the cell). Hide under that and pick off the Priest and take cover when necessary.

Congratulations, you just solo'd this week's Nightfall. If you're in a fireteam you can be a bit more aggressive as you'll likely have someone to revive you, but if you're doing it alone for the challenge and the thrill... be very cautious.

So Mr @Terronium-12 i'm crap so you'll have to help me again this week :p

I just tried the nightfall by myself because I need the 200 nightfall fusion rifle kills. We tried it lat night with 3 of us and died. I ended up beating it myself today. It was almost easier because of how slow I played it. They really need to do something about the spawning and aggressiveness of the bad guys. Its way too easy to just sit back and pick them off. The nightfall shouldn't be able to be beaten like that.

It seems like every mission, strike and even sections of the raid have ways you can abuse your way through.

If your still looking to do this and are on PS4 let me know, it join you

Thanks, I'll take any help I can get I will shoot a FR when I'm on later.

I'm a level 27 titan. Should being a level lower in the nightfall matter much? I've completed lvl 28 things before easily enough.

Thanks for the help and tips, Much appreciated.
