Another reason i stopped paying destiny. This games is literally nothing if there is no psn. I might sell this game haven't played it for a while dont think ill go back to it.
 
Someone just let me know when it's up. Ironically the servers being down yesterday eliminated any use of me wanting them to be up today as I cannot get anything from Xur at the moment that's worth anything (even though I have no idea what he's selling today). I am more hoping that this isn't a prolonged attack. If it is well then I can play my PS3 offline.

So all 7.2 billion people know that Destiny was an MMO? Wow, I didn't know that. I was just saying it was stupid of them to make it just MMO and not have an option for offline.

Good thing I went in knowing full well what kind of game I was getting. I knew I needed a connection 100% of the time if I wanted to play. I also knew that these consoles arent going to be Up and running 100% of the time, Whether its my connection, or a problem with the services offered.

I can understand if you went in completely blind, and didnt know you needed an internet connection, but this wasnt really a secret.

Its not like we we're doing anything productive anyways, grinding away just to get those coveted blue engrams that turn into motes of light :P

The game wouldn't work without online access. I kept my ps3 just in case psn went down again.

I can't think of an MMO which has an offline mode.
 
Odd. I can log in on my phone to PSN but my system does not allow me to do the same.

Is it possible for them to add an offline feature? Or is that just too hard? Hell, why did they design it to be an MMO instead of like CoD or Battlefield where you can play online or offline.

Its probably do to character info, stats etc being stored on servers instead of local on your console or PC.

It may not be accurate to call it a MMO but the game has MMO elements, just much milder. Technically calling it a Shared World Experience is ideal, so from here on out, it is to be referred to as SWE!
 
Well, I wish I could be on today but I guess not. I'm guessing that unless the network is back up by tomorrow afternoon I will miss Xur this week.
 
So, is doing raids/strikes the best way to get better gear? Only level 25.

it's not the only way however it is by far the easiest and quickest
 
Yeah, you'll need Vanguard Commendations to get a helmet and a chestpiece :lol:
 
Ughhhh, maybe the servers will work tomorrow.
 
Servers came back on so I played around some. Managed to finally hit Crota's Bane rank 3 on my Hunter, maxing out my Murmur, getting the new shader, and upgrading the Husk of the Pit to the Eidolon Ally.
 
I had to get up to pee at around 3am and decided to try connecting. I got on and upgraded my Gjallarhorn, then went back to sleep. I'm glad I did because now PSN is down again. At least I won't have to worry about missing the Xur window.
 
Can I grind the weekly strike for strange coins? Or is it a one time thing.

One time thing. Although each difficulty pays out 3 so if you do it at 30 you get all 9 right away.

One time thing per character. You can earn a max of 27 strange coins if you do this with all characters.

I got the No Land Beyond. It's not as good as I would have hoped due to the 1 shot reload every time.
 
I got lucky today and got the Super Good Advice bounty I've been waiting for. And Xur is still in the tower so I could buy the component that's part of the bounty so I could finish the bounty quickly. I'm glad I waited for the bounty again instead of upgrading my old one. Now I have both Gjallarhorn and Super Good Advice at 331 attack.
 
Can anyone help me (I need 5 people) to get the Thorn bounty done? I just want to finally have the weapon and the free spot in my bounties. I will help out in return.

Also, I unlocked the Triple Play trophy just now. Apparently it's one of the harder trophies to acquire in the game.
