Did you beat Senna's record: post your best time.

Counting attempts on restarts, off track and cones, not just complete laps, all complete laps I've done so far are better enough for bronze and once I got the gold I've moved on to the next one.

DAP kart:
4th attempt, 1st clean lap->Bronze
8th attempt, 3rd clean lap->Silver
almost gold on the 25th attempt, 10th clean lap. 1:00.217
GOLD with 0:59.831 (35 total attempts,13 complete laps)

Formula 3:
2nd attempt, 1st clean lap->Silver
almost gold on the 35th attempt, 12th clean lap. 0:43.217
GOLD with 0:43.115 (65 total attempts, 12 complete laps)

Lotus 97T Monza:
5th attempt, 1st clean lap->Silver
almost gold on the 6th attempt, 2nd clean lap 1:25.094 (missed by 0.010 secs)
GOLD with 1:24.319 (15 total attempts, 4 complete laps)

I do love Gran Turismo but I'm not the best, luckly I've managed to get any gold the game has to offer so far, the second challenge with the 97T will be a pain I guess...


Using logitech driving force (the old one, official GT3 wheel, no TCS, ABS 1)

well me unlike most found these challenging but i got there in the end and liked the challenge...why can't people just be happy that there is something new to do and new cars instead of complaining that its not hard enough and that the lesser talented should be unable to even get close to achieving times unlike the elite,just challenge your own time and let others enjoy what they can achieve.Every time something new comes out its like us lesser talented are not worthy so therefore i dont care i paid my $$ and like to challenge myself for i am the only one in whom i need to beat...

Nope, I got gold/silver at the two final events and they gave me the car. Then I golded the remaining one and I think they only gave me the rest of the money.
 
I got a 59.679 for Stage 1 of the tribute. I am using a controller, does anyone have setup suggestions for stages 2 and 3 to get a gold?

for me stg 2 i had abs 1 no tc and sens on 5 i think,this car handled nice,on stg 3 i had abs 1 and tc on 1 and sens 5 but play around with sensitivity i would not go any higher with traction control it was like it could not find gears but this is with auto would be different with manual...i am sure others will have better tips

It's not the same for all events.

You need a gold in the Karting and Formula 3 to get the car. For the F1 Lotus you need silver in the two events.

1:22.278 with the Lotus at Monza. Those chicanes are tough, especially the last set before the final hairpin.

I use a controller and am by no means the best the driver (ranked 4-6k in GTA). It simply doesn't feel right smashing the legend that is senna's time so easily around Monza I managed a 1:23.1 on my first non DQ lap and I was just trying to get a feel for the car and the new layout which i must say is now my favourite track in the game. The 2 lesmo turns are amazing. Theres still plenty of room for improvement and will be aiming for a 1:19.XXX. As for Brands now that was the sort of challenge I was expecting, took me a good 10+ clean laps to get it. Theres still plenty of time left out there but its extremely hard to put it all together as its hard to nail the low speed corners.

Edit: Just spent 5 min doing a couple more laps did a 1:19.756 and I still feel theres plenty of time there. The key is to keep momentum through the turns and don't do unnecessary down shifts. Ill do a couple more laps later hopefully can crack a 1:18.XXX who knows how much time I can find already dropped my time by 3.5s in less than 10 complete laps.

Edit: One drink, and my next clean lap was 0.704 quicker! (But I had about a dozen DQ's first) Surprisingly, I was behind my ghost until the last turn and made up the time there! Time to pour another drink for 0.106.

Edit 2: Second drink worked like a charm. Time to pour a third to celebrate!

Online I made a quick setup change and put some more downforce on the car, got into the 1.20's with no problem. With some more setup work or even just more time with the car low 19's are easily possible. My best in the time trial was a 1.22.5 which was my Gold lap and I didn't carry on to see if I could lower it further with that default setup.

It's not even the grip that I think I'll find time with, it's the gearing... getting through the chicanes is all about making sure you're not too low down the revs to either bog down or need to change down which then makes the car peaky. You have to keep the revs up in order to be able to get that instant go when you floor it on exit.

I am using TC set at 1, ABS set at 1, controller sensitivity set at 3. Thank you for tips, getting gold in the events.
 
I haven't got the times to hand, but I've managed to Gold them all.
The kart took a few tries to get a feel for, and I clipped the cones on the chicanes a few times (on one occasion the cone didn't even move!)
The F3 was reasonably simple, one or two sighting laps then the Gold time
The F1 was a lot trickier. I had some issues with the chicane before the lesmos at Monza, and cut a little too curb in the first section.
Brands was a different story. It must have taken me at least 30 attempts if not more. I went off at every corner at some point!
For those saying it was too easy, you need to remember the vast majority of players will struggle to get near a silver, especially those using DS3's. Also a good driver should be faster in a game, as you don't fear damaging the car or dying!

I am. It's quite easy to lock the inside front wheel when turning.

To me Brands Hatch was easier, probably because the track hasn't changed as much as Monza.

I can't imagine where Id find that much time.

Bronze on cart, I hate carts, then easy silver with F3.

F3 is great ride, I guess I'm an F3 driver! Easy winner in 550pp races. Use F3 prize car to practice on 80's Monza and Brands Hatch in arcade mode so can do continuous laps, then Red Bull Jr. And next Pescarolo C60. LMP can do easy 1:29, handles different than 97t but speed of corners and lines through chicanes are similar. So then a easy silver at Monza but harder to get gold. Similar method at BH just missed silver, will probably be happy to get the two silvers and the prize car 97T. Using AbS 2 and TCS 2. DS3 controller, might need the DS2 to get the extra time off. That one lap, repeat is dumbass.

97T easier than Red Bull, throttle lag very noticeable pulling out of slow corners.

I continue to surprise myself finding time where I thought there was nothing to be made still 3 tenths in 1st sector and not a perfect 2nd chicane but I'm happy with that time to thrash her around monaco!!!

When people say it's easy, it's not to disrespect people that can't gold it. Most of us have wheels and know that it's easier that way. You say it's easy because in the middle of a race, you're thinking, man this lap sucks but I'll finish it to get a ghost and then you end up with gold. It isn't a judgement of other players.
 
I didn't know much about Senna prior to this so I found the slideshows interesting and I mostly enjoyed all the challenges. The lotus is a bit quick for my liking but that said I still enjoyed it. The sounds from the F3 and the Lotus were truly awesome 👍

Done a 1.18.055 at Monza and 1.04.304 at Brands, forgotten what the first two times I did were though, didn't spend much time on them.
