Convertible Dakotas are awesome, I think I've seen one once and it was in pretty bad shape. They are kinda like unicorns.

I saw a ton of cool stuff over the weekend but I need my buddy to post the pictures before I go through the list.

 That's a decent way to think of it. The prior one I saw was red. They're really crappy vehicles - I think the reason all the ones I see are one-owners is because the original owner can't sell the vehicle because no one's interested.

All Buicks rule?!
No...

You saw a Corvette from every generation today, or you think the original ones should be their own generation?
The second one.

The DB7 bores the crap out of me. The best-looking Aston ever is the Vanquish without question. The DB7 isn't even the best-looking Jaguar ever.
To each his own. I think the Vanquish is a close second, but it is just too muscular. Ruins the shape in my opinion.

I'll grant you the Vanquish over the DB9 (DB9's look sort of cheap when next to a Vanquish) but I incidentally saw a DB7 today and I have to say they are kinda gorgeous. :sly:

They're a rarity around here as well. I can maybe think of one that I had seen once, and it was a long, long time ago. But I still continue to make fun of them... I'm sure there is still a thread around here somewhere with me referencing it...

Saw every generation of Corvette today, unless you - like me - consider the '53-'56 a different model.

Huh? '53 to '62 is the C1, '63 to '67 is the C2, the '68 to '82 is the C3, '84 to '96 is the C4, '97 to '03 is the C5, and '04 to Present is the C6.

...So I'm confused about your train of thought there...

He is saying that the C1 has like a C1.1 and a C1.2 basically, or there should be seven generations instead of six.

Yes, we understand that. However, for 1956 not only was the entire car completely restyled to a much different overall shape, it was also completely rethought in its positioning (useless convertible to credible sports car) and thoroughly reengineered.

Within the last few days I've seen:

Silver S2000
Aston Martin DB9  I couldn't believe it. It was awesome.

I know there was one more but can't remember right now.

Okay, I understand what you mean then. I suppose I could do the same, but out of tradition, I generally choose not to. The early Duntov years were great.

Today was ok outside the Auto Show.

There was a M5 in the garage, an old 993 Turbo outside on the streets, and going through the richest neighborhood near Dallas, (We're talking BIG homes w/ 4-5 car garages on 1 avenue; same avenue I had caught the Heritage Ford GT running around), a black Ford GT parked outside a Bank of America, and a Maserati pulling into a very nice home.

Indeed - the change from 1956 to 1957 is one of the more obvious changes in Corvette history. I would never call the current model the 'C7' or anything, but in my view it is the 7th-generation Corvette.

How crap is that roof?

Maybe he stole it off a Murcielago Roadster:

The old rover V8s were based on an ancient buick design were they not?
My uncle used to drive an RT10 and when you put the "toupee" on theres a big warning label on the inside warning you not to go over 150 miles per hour.

Here is this weeks spotting's and a better picture of a car from last week

Best. Looking. Aston. Ever. The DB9 can go screw. As can every other Aston that is not the DB7.

I don't personally enjoy the look of the DB7 at all. I think it's styling is fussy and it's too long yet it still manages to look overweight - like Ian Callum got his inspiration for the design whilst tucking into a blamange. I can't stand the bits of chrome trim on it either. Give me the DB9 or more so the V8 Vantage any day. Nevertheless, I'll still go, "Ooh!" when I see one.

The 2 Porsche 356's are just kit cars that have a lame ass VW boxster engine in them, so lame that if they put AC on one, when you turn the AC on the engine can hardly stay running....but there is an option to have a Subaru 2.5 turbo engine put in, and then they really scoot.

But if you want I can take some pictures the next time I see them.

Sorry for the crappy pic's but I was  when i saw this:

Thats the quality my phone can take pic's of. :nervous:

But anyways the plate on the supposed Mitsubishi Cabriolet Colt was 'Mycolt'. The top looked really old, and a bit off-set.

And i saw this yesterday:

Again sorry for crappy pic. A nice M5
And this:

An Impreza
And i also saw a 350Z and Monaro CV8

That is the first time I have seen a Z8 in a color other than silver. I have to say that that particular blue looks better on the car than silver. Now that I look at the pictures a little closer, BMW could have put more exciting wheels on the car.

The DB7 was designed by Callum to be a Jaguar - Only changed at the last minute to be an Aston. They only really altered the grill before production.

I couldn't post it at the time since I was in Germany, but last week I saw a Weismann on the autobahn between Frankfurt and Karlsruhe, and we even overtook it in a Fiat Cinquecento :D (although he was pulling off the autobahn at the time...)

Off-topic, but I also saw an Airbus A380 on Saturday at Frankfurt Airport, it is about to make it's maiden flight to the US apparently... big plane

Awesome! Now thats what I want to see, any pics?.

Yep on its way to the US finally, an attempt to scape up some orders from the US airlines for the 380 (hard task).
