Well, the good news is that they got the chassis right with the Mustang... Granted, it isn't the stiffest convertible out there, but it does a good job.

I saw this on the way home from class, a Porsche 968, apparently America only got about 2500 hard tops in four years. I was also surprised to see this since it's kind of an icy rain out right now.

And yes I'm taking a picture while driving again but I'm slowing down due to the light.

Porsche 968s are good enough cars that it doesn't matter if you are puttign yourself in danger. Awesome way to end a truly great series of vehicles, and I don't think the Boxster has eclipsed them yet.

Definitely, the Boxster is still too "oh yeah I have one of those also, and so do two of my neighbors" Surprisingly enough the 924 is my favorite of the series because I could actually afford one (though not the costs of running it :) )

May not be a big deal to y'all, but I just saw a sweet 2002ish black Cadillac Catera Sport out of my office window... I love those things!

A lot of people hated the Catera, I never thought it was all that bad. I don't see many of them anymore so it's a rather rare thing to cross paths with one now a days.

Well it's certainly rare around here, the only reason I knew what it was when I saw my first one was because of those annoying "the caddy that zigs" commercials with the little bird...

The main problem with the Catera was that they made Merkurs look like Toyotas in reliability. They were good handling drivers cars, and in some ways better than the CTS that replaced them.

It's been a long week for me, and very little time for myself. But I am getting a new PC (first non-homebuilt in 15 years!), so hopefully that will encourage me to use it more.

As usual, in order from least to most interesting:

Pontiac Vibe Mary Kay

I thought there were only Cadillac MK's. Is this just a badge people can put on their car, or a gift from MK?

Triumph TR6 (with 1967 Corvette in background)

Neat little bugger, but the Corvette is the harbinger of things to come. That dinky gas station does maintenance on all the classic Corvettes (and other GM's) in the area, so lots of stuff comes in and out of there for spring cleaning. I hope to capture some interesting 'Vettes over the next few weeks.

Maserati Gran Sport Spider

Is this the GS, or just a current Spider? I can't really tell the difference.

Porsche 911 Turbo (997)

Just the third one I've seen since it came out, and the only one I've even had a chance to get a photo of. I wasn't exactly trundling along on the highway, but this guy absolutely blew past me. Must have been 120MPH+. The only reason I got a photo is because I happened to see him about a 1/4 mile behind me on the almost empty roadway.

Bentley Continental GT

They were really common when new, but now that it's been out for 3 years, they seem to have disappeared. Maybe Bentley just needs a visual update.

Bentley Brooklands

Not sure of the year (not well up on my Bentley's), but stately nonetheless. Like a Bentley should.

BMW Z4 M Coupe

It looks strangely attractive in this medium grey (it's slightly darker than it appears in the photo). The license plate is neat, too: S54 is the engine code, E86 the chassis/body code.

Today wasn't to bad of a day:

Audi Q7 Premium with the 4.2L V8:

M Roadster and by default a less attractive 300C SRT-8, the irony on this photo is one car is German, the other only wishes it was .
n38505333_31130762_2579.jpg

Mercedes Benz S500, I don't recall ever seeing one of these.
n38505333_31130763_2820.jpg

Mercedes Benz GL450, first of the new GL series I've come across. Let me just say this thing is huge, I wish I would have thought to get a picture of my Blazer next to it for comparison.

Damn my luck today, I've had one of the best spottings in quite some time:

- 2005-ish Yellow with Black stripes, Ford GT: It was doing a 'Michigan Turnaround' (Joey knows what I mean) on one of the busier roads in the city, and I neither had my phone on (dead battery) nor would have had enough time to take the photo, as it was hidden by a collective posse of rather-large SUVs.

This was indeed the first time I had seen a GT on the street, as for some reason they have been quite rare here in Grand Rapids. Granted, I've come across two Carrera GTs long before I ever saw a GT outside of an auto-show, which I always found to be rather disappointing.

Thoughts? It was a lot smaller than how it looked on a platform, should I say, a lot lower... The poor guy probably couldn't see around any of the Tahoes and Expeditions that were around him...

Uh, yeah, so I'm new to this thread (and you probably won't see much of me in this thread anymore anyway) so no, I don't have a picture, and I won't blame you for not believing me, but...

A few months ago I was driving to a friend's house and a GT ('05 I'm guessing) drove by going the other way with the infamous Gulf paintjob, as such. Didn't have those wheels though.

Fortunately no other cars were around, considering I slammed the brakes so I could watch it drive away in my rearview mirror.

Considering the stuff I see around here (frequent Aston Martin and Maserati sightings, this in suburban Philadelphia, by the way) I should have my cell phone available at all times while driving. So who knows, maybe you will see more of me. :)

Decided to mish it out to the Continental Cars dealer in the city at 11pm just to see the Audi R8 which was there. Gotta say, from front on I was unimpressed but from every other angle it's just a great looking car. Might go back tomorrow to actually go inside....

Plus saw a Conti GT with the numberplate "552BHP". I thought that was pretty cool.

I must first oppologize for the crap cell phone picture quality. I do plan on getting a digital camera here soon.

Edit: Also saw a red 599GTB Fiorano, but I wasn't quick enough for pictures.

Brilliant parking too.

If you'd spent the better half of £90,000 you'd be forgiven for worrying about peasants ruining your "white-bread" grey-blue paint...:D

The wheels looked soooo nice in the metal though. The picture doesn't do them justice.

I like your car ultrabeat. 👍

Thanks, although technically my mums...
I've been assured however that the next car to go will be the Mazda, so eventually the TT will work it's way down to me. My parents plan to get a 2 seater when I fly the coop, although the TT is already a 2-seater for any family with legs.
But I've developed contortionist skills after using it for a while and it really does make you more flexible. 👍

A wrap-up of the past day or so...

That would be the first brand-new BMW 3-series coupe I've seen on the roads, and unfortunately it is 'only' a 328ci. Still, I think it is a really good looking car, and I generally wouldn't mind having one myself. I particularly liked the color and wheel combo, as I wouldn't be surprised if this guy bought a 'stripper' just like I would...

Not that this is too particularly special, but I have never seen a car from Oregon here in Grand Rapids before. It was coming out of the Meijer parking lot when I was getting gas, and just thought it was an odd spot...

If you want to know where all the Solstices are, they're here. A coupe 'standard' models, a few GXPs, we've got 'em if you want 'em. The same goes for the Saturn Sky, which can be found across the street...
