Ohh! Interesting. Same deal in the vast majority of the USA except that most people switch their plates anyway not knowing they can keep their old ones. I guess in Belgium you must keep your old ones. So in Belgium the plates can be used to date the DRIVER not the CAR like in UK? Haha...

BTW last night I got some AWESOME shots of a yellow 550 on the highway:

That car in that color is unbelievably dramatic. An awesome shape.

Low light rules, right Doug? Nice pics.

Let’s post:

Common to heck 1954 Ford 4-door, so common I don’t know why I took its picture, must have been its horrible shape and the fact that I love rust buckets, but nothing really special here:
oli083.jpg

Nice clean MKII Golf with BBSs, every Golf should look like this:
oli086.jpg

regular shape 79 Trans Am with ricer mesh and auto trans, I think this would be a 401-Buick powered car, so ho-hum, but hey, great foundation for a project and a car you rarely see them here.
p001.jpg

Same as before, regular shape puke-green late model Camino, but a car you don’t see almost at all here, so *snap*:
p004.jpg

1976 Duster wich is nothing special with the exception that it has been “adapted” to accept larger tires and for being lower to the ground, don’t know if it’s because of style or because the owner fixed something with such procedure, but I think it’s the later because it was like he did it with his kitchen knife; a month after I took this pic the car received a blow that almost crushed it in half.
p008.jpg

Every time I diss 4-doors I should remember this car, it lives two blocks from my grandpa’s house and has been there for as long as I’m alive, 56 Chev more-door with a souped up 350 that runs it in the 12s, it has white headers, real Cragars and skull door locks, and the coolest thing, a pull-out steering wheel. The guy built it himself right down to paint and upholstery.
p010.jpg

A liiiiitle neglected 1967 Chevelle, that’s used as storage car for a guy who fixes shoes nearby; oddly, the car is just outside of the house of an owner of a severely customized Model A pickup and an old, modified Mini, as well as a Brera. I’d buy it, take the wheels, then drop it at the junkyard.
p012.jpg

1967 Impala four door turned into… well, that, then abandoned, and it has been there ever since…
peinadosmagicosycochesfeos027.jpg

1971 Charger sitting in that place for more than ten years, check out the weird round rear side window…
peinadosmagicosycochesfeos029.jpg

Mexico-only Dodge Magnum, the replacement for the Mexican Super Bee that vanished in 1981 I think; this had a 4 barrel 360 that made an unbelievable 185 hp in 1982, but believe it or not, these are sought after and quite rare, so snap also… besides, look how tattered it is!! It had to be here.
peinadosmagicosycochesfeos030.jpg

Super-rare in Mexico 1969 Buick –Riviera up in stacks for repairs:
peinadosmagicosycochesfeos032.jpg

Common MKI Golf that has had its fenders flared. Just that. Meh.
perrossssssssssssss028.jpg

Oval Window VW Bug that seems to be in original condition, paint included:
pfeh027.jpg

1963? Chevy Impala 4-door, rare because there were no 1964 Impalas sold in Mexico, all Chevs were bel-airs:
plgf013.jpg

Here you have an incredibly original 1970 Mexico-only Dodge Dart GTS, a rare sight indeed because in 1970 the GTS was produced only half a year to make room for the 1970 Super Bee, the new performance offering from Mopar, this is the most original one I have ever seen even if its ugly and common as hell; 318ci/4-speed Hurst shifted car.
plgf018.jpg

plgf019.jpg

I think I had already posted this 1954 F-100 with red wheels running around, but later I found it sitting still, so…
plgf023.jpg

Finally, this thing was cool, abandoned but cool, check out how wide this Mustang is, if I had any money I would have bought it and built me a cool IMSA Fox for the street, half the work has already been done and the flares were pretty well made; sadly, it’s vanished now.
plgf026.jpg

There goes, smaller post than usual, but I’ll make up for it later.

A4 cabrio with S4 badge?

Nope. Looks to be a '92-'00 Audi 80 Cabrio (B4 platform) with a S badge (wrong spot, cabrio never came with S version).

Oh, and in the future, if you have any more cars with questions like this, more views would help! :p

I'm loving that Focus, Serge. Nice spot! I'm guessing Rue asked about your camera because your pics aren't blurry anymore.

On my way to school: a V8!!!

Mexico seems to be sitting on a gold mine. If people would just take care of their cars, you'd have some rich S.O.B.s!

The fender flares on that Mustang were a custom job, right? It kinda looks ugly, but then really awesome at the same time.

Do you know the strange looking bloke?

More importantly, does the owner of the car know the strange looking bloke? I'd kick some strange looking ass if I came out and saw somebody doing that to my expensive new car.

Sorry I forgot to take a pic of the back of the car. :dunce:

Oh got damn, dude!!! Can I have the link from where that came from? That is the exact same bodykit, check it out!!! I thought it was a custom job but its actually something that was marketed??? Link me please, I’m über intrigued!!!!

And thanks for the pic, yeah, that thing could look amazing if someone actually threw money at it, and come on, its a Fox chassis, they can be made to run incredibly strong and be track stars as well… as I said, IMSA clone for the street!

Looks like one. Great photos everyone!

Well, it appears this is going to be my last post in the DYSAGT thread. I broke my camera big time today and I've decided that I'm not going to buy another one. I have too much bad luck with digicams and I'm not prepared to throw more money at another one. What a great way to celebrate your 30th birthday eh! It's been fun and I'll be checking back often, but (for now) it seems my car-spotting days are numbered. I leave you with yesterdays and this evenings shots. No tags as I'm really too annoyed to add them right now...

Sorry to hear that Rue, truly a shame as you bring some of the best spots to this thread. Happy Birthday though!

Well I've never seen a wagon of the 1994-1997 version in person. Anyways, we've determined that it's just an accord sedan with a wagon/SUV next to it.

Buy a cheap one like mine, the pics that you make with them are not
that bad when you know how to change the settings on it. :)

RUE YOU JUST CANT DO THAT, YOU CANT!

Go buy a cheapo one, 3X zoom is enough! come on man, you cant do that to us!! you give us some of the most amazing sights here

):

Sad days ahead, I hope you reconsider (yeah, I know, the money).

and yeah, it indeed is a Nissan Silvia S13, tough its just called 180 SX here.

Hey Cano, I was wondering, what is up with all the abandoned cars over there?

Well, they're just there... most of the time a problem arises on the car and people just let it sit because of the lack of money or lost interest or something like that, and the city's government is quite tolerant about it, specially in the oldest parts of the city (tough I have found abandoned cars in even the nicest, whealtiest parts), and many of those pictures are quite old, many of those cars are gone now but about 5 years ago there were a lot more abandoned cars in the city, but the government made a raid and salvaged a lot of them (some are sold in auctions, from something like that came, INCREDIBLY, the country's only Charger Daytona, incredibly yet again, HEMI 4-speed car that was nabbed @ a government's auction after it was picked up from the street for like... 3,500 USD).

I've found some quite unique cars myself, from very rare in mexico to very rare everywhere (Challenger RT ragtop 440-4speed, 59 Cadoo panoramic sedan, hillman husky wagon!) wich will pop in this thread eventually, I have about 2500 car-in-the-street pics, and about 65-70% should be abandoned cars.

Like Cyborg GT says, if people took care of some of these gems they would have some cool cars, but over here restoring or well-caring a car like the ones I photograp costs as twice or even thrice as it would in US or Europe (for example, a Mini here is OMG SO expensive, in UK they're bread and butter and freaking cheap, same for, say, something as pedestrian as a 1952 Chevy in the US), so that is also another reason, big one, there is no money to waste on cars here.

Saw 2 nice cars, today. First one was an Aston Martin DB7 Vantage Volante. Sounded beautiful at idle, and low RPMs. I actually did bring my Nikon, but there was no way in hell I was going to be able to get it and use it while in traffic. I did also try to use my phone, but no luck. He got into my lane behind me, and then turned. :guilty:

But, while at Collin County's Community College, I did see one of the Fahrenheit edition GTIs. :)
