Glitched gearing in the Japanese version? Can you please elaborate Famine? Do they not have seven gears or something like that?

I can't really explain it... it's like the powerband is an ECG instead of a curve. Once you get to about 3-4krpm, the acceleration (and tachometer) stutters and vibrates. If you're not actually moving - handbrake on - and revving, there's no problem, so the glitch is in some calculation to do with the drivetrain. The top gear in the Cerbera and Concept LM, particularly, is useless.

I might be able to make a video of it at some point.

I haven''t noticed any problems yet pallie but it is starting to look like it is the best version for me becuase of the TVR Cerbera LM Edition or should I say TVR Cerebera LM Edition

Once you get that Cerbera to have good handling, it makes any version of GT1 the best version.

No its actually really crap in the PAL version won't go fast with the settings I put it on.

If you really don't believe me then make a video of one of the most simple tracks in Gran Turismo and I will beat your time.

In the pal version its not the best car no way.

I don't know if it's just me, but I recently bought the Japanese (NTSC J) version of GT1 and I have to say that the driving physics feel better - not nearly as fidgety as I remember the PAL version to be. Or am I just going old?

Also, those annoying jumps from Autumn Ring and Grand Valley aren't there in the Japanese version!

That is the only reason y the japanese version of GT1 was so sought after, is becuase the (physics and reactions of the car driving down the track's surface) was more realistic than the american version. Plus when the PS1 came out the japanese had this thought that they could make PS1 games better than american's could and they did by far when Japanese GT1 came out and blew the american version away as far a game's for that time era go. But they gave up on that thought aroun 98, becuase for the japanese to make better games it also took theme longer before they could release the game compared to the american's.
