Discussion of undocumented features in patch 1.10

The final stretch of the Nür / Nordschleife, the uphill climb is WAY more stable than before. The caroussel is WAY more UNstable than before. Forcefeedback is also changed on the G25, made somewhat a tad weaker. Braking is more forgiving on ABS 0. Dampers need to be set more softer than ever before!, Tuning is more pronounced with Aerodynamics. It;s just really a new and improved experience. The AI is a tad more challenging all around. Certain track sections were almost shortened for the better, I can smell it. Loving 1.10, thank you PD. Bring us more cars already! Maybe a track or 20 too! TAKE MY MONEY JAPAN! sigh, they don't need it With Nintendo and Capcom in existance I suppose.

When hitting a wall with the back part of the car (tail lights) heard some glass-like sound breaking.

And the damage model is a bit different for the Nissan gtr, but I dont know yet if it still scripted.

I noticed that in multiplayer (not online) the cars in your favorites are always the actual cars in your garage and not the stock car.

That's how it has always been, hasn't it?

I'm pretty sure the AI used to only race stock cars, but I can't remember what mode that was in.

Not sure if this has been posted before, but damage is a lot easier to come by. I rear-ended an AI and a small dent with a very noticeable scuff mark. Not that there is more damage, just its easier to cause.

Nope, it hasn't until 1.1. I was actually talking about 2-player and not AI.

Did head tracking always work in Seasonals? I just noticed the drift trial did, but I don't remember it before the last update. I thought it was only in arcade mode.

Even Kaz said that it only worked in Arcade. BUT, I guess that was before they brought Seasonals. This one is interesting. Does it work with Time Trial?

Did they remove the QAA from the 1080p mode?? It seems more clear now like gt5p with 2x msaa.
I don't know if this can even be known. The lighting effects seem clearer in a way, at least.

Head tracking is not working on the Time Trial Le Sarthe. I really hope PD didn't try some kind of silly "simulation" aspect and enable head tracking so you can look out of the door while drifting. Because that would be retarded to just let us use it for one part of A-spec.

EDIT: Ok well it seems like that the case is just that. I went into A-spec and entered a drift trial at Monza and my camera is now in head tracking mode.

How could this be? It's just really odd. A little baffled by it.

Actually, this could mean progress in things we thought couldn't have been changed. That's to say this wasn't already implemented before 1.10.

Not sure if it is new with patch 1.10, here is what i discovered yesterday:

- Buy a premium car that is RM able
- take the "stock" car to GT auto and perform the RM

here it comes,

- switch to the settings of this car, go to exhaust section

then you will see, that the "racing exhaust" is NOT installed, it is "bought" but not installed.

NOTICE: If you klick on the box to install the exhaust, it will be applied, but you are not able to uninstall it again.

Tried this out with the Golf IV RM and the corvettes C6 (Z06) and ZR1. To me the corvettes sound better "stock" then with racing exhaust.

Means you can apply RMs now but keep the "stock" sound on the modded car.

Nice find! Tried this and it works, unless you've bought any exhaust upgrade before the RM modification 👍. I always hated the RM Vette/Camaro '10 sounds...

Here's an undocumented feature of 1.10..

The game no longer f$&@$&g works.. Load bar fills before a race, gets to 100%, driver names keep scrolling, music keeps playing.. Race never starts.

F$&@..

Do you have custom background music enabled? If yes, try disabling it. Worked for me.

Is it just me...or has anyone noticed a distinct drop in quality of the track side modelling since 1.10. Rome, Tokyo 246 and most noticable Madrid all seem to now have a lower quality of track side buildings. They used to shine and just look stunning. I was never happier than caining through the beautifully moddelled Madrid after the 1st hair pin, now it looks almost embarrising. The shop fronts have lost detail and there shapes are more 2D than before. I am thinking of deleting the game data incase theres a problem with my game and reinstalling the update whole again, but Im sure this has been done on purpose as a way of improving smoothness and decreasing tearing, both of which ive
noticed since 10.1.
Anyone?

If it's true so it's truly dissapointment for me really :( rather than drop their "must have" 1080p, they make game look worse and worse...To say Suzuka and Fuji already has lower quality textures compared to GT5P and now this...Better to not be true...

My Bobs, all level 19s, are driving like they are F1/Lemans/WRC champions.

They rarely need me to give them orders on overtaking.:)

The tracks look more colorful by the way.

I really glad if they dropped the graphics quality as i choose to never drive Madrid as it's almost unplayable due to distracting screen tearing. So I will congratulate PD if they changed this to make it smooth frames.

I don't think it's just you. I find that graphics have become more "grainy" since the last update, especially on trackside or far away objects.

My observation today, is another "did I make it up" change, where I was in a car doing heavy braking and I felt a new force-feedback subtle movement to indicate my wheels were locking up ( on abs 1). It felt quite good. But it's possibly non-existent, which would be a shame as it would be a good thing to have in the game.

I think many people talking about textures and grainyness might be talking about the different (improved?) depth of field the game seems to be using now.

Seems to be more prominent in replay shots than it was before.

Hm i'm gonna check whether this is true right now, but I bet they didn't turn down graphics that wouldn't make sense. I also wish they had made this game in 720p. Today's consoles can't produce good graphics on 1080p. What PD managed to produce with this resolution is probably a real achievement, although its 'only' 1280x1080. If the game would have been 720p we would have had smooth shadows and stuff :p

The grainyness I'm talking about is more like "dithering", if you get the idea.
I remember originally noticing it only on dark spots on tracks like SSR5, SSR7 or La Sarthe during night hours.
I guess this is a compromise to avoid framerate drops, which I find they decreased noticeably since the first game versions.
