Discussion of undocumented features in patch 1.10

Have they changed the car sounds? I heard the BOV for the first time since this update (when driving a McLaren MP4) and noticed it on a few other cars since hearing it.

It seems to me that online-race physics have improved a bit, it feels more like driving in A-Spec now...this could be just me. Anyone else get that experience?

I kind of noticed that as well.. I might just be me, but it sure did feel slightly different(in a good way).

Is it me, or has the shifting animation ceased? I played it for the first time since the update recently, and when in cockpit view, I noticed the driver's hands firmly planted on the wheel when shifting.

Maybe I'm having a senior moment and getting my driving games mixed up, but didn't the shifting animation occur prior to the last update?

I didn't notice anything different with the shadows the cars cast on the track and on themselves.

Shadows are better, but still jagged. Rain spray is still pixilating the car, but it doesn't seem like smoke is anymore.

BUG? I've G27 and now if i press START on cluntch in race it seems how i press two time pause so it's impossible to exit from race!

Can you compare shadows to GT5P? (same car, same track) If they are on same level I will be totally happy! (but it's like too good to be true). It's my almost only complain to the game.

Only graphical changes Ive notice is that the reflections look different and the car windows have been lightened to small degree.

Exiting an online lobby now returns you to lobby search screen. Before, it would return to the Home page of GT Mode. Minor improvement in my eyes.

Me too.. for example i had problems driving my minolta online, no prob at all in a spec [no driving helps of course]
.. yesterday i was online at sarthe at night and it was better

they seem to be fixing minor details on the standards. Im just running the Laguna B spec race and looking at the Dodge Charger Super Bee 426 Hemi and for instance the Plymouth Cuda 440 Six Pack, and you can see the difference not only in the reflection but also on the decals.
The decals on the Carger are non reflective as well as all the other details on the car such as vents and the door handels. If you compare that to the Plymouth everything is reflective and you can really tell the difference.

I do hope they fix the dirt as well because at this point the dirt wether on standards or premiums does not dull the color but is just as reflective as the paint itself thats why its hard to tell if the car is getting dirty.

can you really compare between 2 different cars though? If it was a before and after patch pic of the same car i could understand it, but its like comparing matte with pearlescent

Personally i can't see any difference in standards just yet

Here you can see cockpit shadows in 1.10. Not a big progress IMO...

I know what your saying but it to me was quite a noticeable difference especially on the decals as they were a lot more matte on the charger compared to the Plymouth which blended in with the rest of the car with the reflection.
But again you are completely right, can't compare 2 different cars because I did not notice how the charger looked before the patch.

Now you mention it, I think it indeed resembles driving with offline physics more than before.
Not sure which I prefer though but at least I'm glad the huge difference is toned down, especially with no multiple set up options in the settings.

Another thing I think has been changed for the better is the handling of the Audi R15 TDI although I might be imagining it.
Yesterday I drove it again for the first time after the last update and it struck me to be much more civil than before.
It still is twitchy in slow corners but more manageable and controllable and it feels more stable somehow.
Again, don't know if it actually is the case or that I just didn't drive it that much recently and I remembered it worse than it actually is.

This must be your imagination.. because there's no R15 in GT5 ;) (unfortunately.. :( ).

Anyway... There is no longer permanent traction control in reverse.

I never noticed any difference between online and offline physics and have always played the same way. If anything, using a DS3 might be the cause for it.

Always pushed my cars equally on both..

was definitely a difference, the toilet framerate online may have been partially to blame.

haven't been on since forever now. ages before PSN died, so i think it may be time to get stuck in again 👍

Jaggies. The result of low-res shadow maps I guess.

Well, I could barely notice them and I know that when I'm actually driving I have better things to worry about then whether or not the shadows have perfectly smooth edges. I can't believe that something so minor would draw so many complaints. Wait............yes, I can absolutely believe that.
