I have to say this logic is flawed mate. So what if the track was in a previous version of the game? PD still has to pay for the license to use the track. Unless otherwise stated in the licensing agreement, the license to use a track or car, doesn't carry over from one game to the next. Seeing as we didn't see the track at release, we can assume with a fair amount of certaincy that PD did not have the license for it.
I'm almost 100 % certain that it costs more for PD to buy a license, than it does to model the track.
Back on topic. I won't be buying Motegi. It's too expensive IMO, espicially considering that Spa was less expensive. Not to mention that Spa simply looked better graphics wise.

DLC TOO EXPENSIVE? Do something about it.
Do you guys have all the tracks and car packs ? Maybe I'm too cheap, or because I'm 17 and won't use my parents credit car for useless use..
CJSpencer77its £4 , how cheap does it have to be?
What a measly £4 will buy you
20 minutes in an arcade or
a Mcdonalds meal or
3 beers
etc etc etc.
or Motegi that if u buy it youll probably spend hours and hours on
and before anyone says yh but all the DLC's together add up for an expensive game, the bottom line is if there wasnt DLC a lot of people would stop playing GT5, go out and spend £20 - £40 on a brand new game.
Half the community moans about not enough DLC the other half moans about the price
It wasnt the price that was in question it was wether it was worth the price for what you got ok lets go with the three beers say its 12 quid for three beers ok its only 12 quid but is it worth the 12 quid.
BluntifiedThat's the same thing. A lot of people were complaining that the DLC wasn't worth the $5 and were comparing it to the Spa DLC. So it was the price in question that people were complaining about, that it wasn't worth the money for something sub-par (in their opinion). If they charged $1 for the track, I bet more people would be willing to pay, $5 on the other hand, now is when you need to find the tracks worth.
How can it be the same thing your saying its not much money when im saying it may not be much money but you need to think if its worth that small amount of money.
Here in the US, most of the DLC is a day without a coffee and a donut, in in return you get hours of re visitable playtime with new cars and tracks.
I can do without a coffee and a donut for a day.
Your not tight?
DLC price in Canada =
3 Chocolate bars
I pondered this earlier today. If you were selling your car, simply washing it, throwing out pop cans and McDonalds cups, and then vacuuming up the fries and dead bugs from the back window would get you one price. But if you had the car detailed, fully serviced with oil change, radiator flush, tranny fluid change, brake pads & shoes replaced, took care of that slop in the steering rack, replaced the bald tires, replaced that leaky power steering hose, and had the dead skunk scraped from underneath, you would be able to sell it for more.
Motegi was a quick clean up. Whereas High Speed Ring in GT5p was a complete reworking of the track. PD fell short with Motegi and hopefully Kaz doesn't really think we like the idea of paying a premium price for a quick wash and wax of an old track. Having day night cycles AND rain would have made the $5 a no brainier.
DLC price in Canada =
1 Domestic beer at a restaurant/pub or
3 Tim Horton's Coffees or
1 Sausage/Egg McMuffin combo or
1 Used pair of shorts for working, from the local used clothing store or
.9 Gallons of gas or
3 Chocolate bars
Yep, that sure is an outrageous price for the DLC![]()
SimonKSigh, not this again. Stop comparing consumable goods to non-consumable goods, it's not fair.
ch3ngThis.
Are the DLC to expensive? It depends on your opinion.
Sigh, not this again. Stop comparing consumable goods to non-consumable goods, it's not fair.
ChoShoTamashiThe way I see it, nothing is too expensive or not worth the price if you have the money to pay for it.
You would pay 500$ for a DLC?
sumbrownkidWhy would anyone charge that much?
Be realistic here bro.
People on iRacing are willing to pay $100 for Nurburgring. Yes, one hundred US dollars.
Not to go off topic too far, but its about conditioning. Our gas was $1.80 when Obama took office. It went up to over $4.50 and has come down to over $3.50 despite oil being $80. People stopped caring about the price of gas. Those people have become conditioned and don't notice we are being screwed.
This generation of gaming has been all about DLC. As long as people keep buying it, they will keep putting it out there. What iRacing is doing doesn't help the cause of "put the content on the damned disc and don't wait for later to release it".
Every popular track I'm the history of Gran Turismo should've been on the GT5 disc. If PD had decent communications with their base, they would've taken a poll or something to find out what we want. I fear now we are in the early stages of a spin cycle of old GT tracks coming at a price with no tangible improvement.
Hopefully PD/SONY had a specific target for quantity of sales of Motegi and we failed to meet it. Which would lead to a significant drop in price for old and unimproved tracks as DLC.

I know that it isn't realistic or smart to buy a overpriced DLC for 500$.
