Do you guys have all the tracks and car packs ? Maybe I'm too cheap, or because I'm 17 and won't use my parents credit car for useless use..

Problem: Can't use parents credit card
Solution: PSN Cards ($50 bucks and you are set until GT6 unless PD goes T10)

If you consider getting content that should have started life in the game to be useless why make a thread about it just stating the obvious.

Useless means that there's more important things to pay for. I was just asking if everybody is ok with the price. These DLC should be free updates.

I have to agree that the DLC is a bit to expensive...

I think the first 3 packs were ok, but I won't be getting the Twin Ring Motegi DLC.

I'm okay with the prices they are charging although I wouldn't complain if it were cheaper. I see the value in what I'm paying for so as long as it stays that way I will continue to purchase the DLC. Shoot, I spent $10 on candy for the Germany Italy game yesterday and all that did is make me feel like crap, so I have no problem throwing $5 at a track I will get hours of fun times out of. Free would be nice too but I have no problem supporting the company that gives me my most enjoyable hobby.

Think of it this way: How many tracks and different configurations in the original release? 40? I don't know for sure. Divide how much you paid for the game by the number of tracks. For me it would be $1 per track. How many configurations of the new track in the DLC, 5? That would be the same exact cost for me $1.

Considering we use to pay nearly $100 per game in cartridge days (NES,SNES), these prices are peanuts. Proof. The only way I'd complain is when the total cost, after DLC, exceeds the price of the game.

In the video game industry, costs for the consumer always go up, never down. With that said, you can either accept the prices or be left behind. The only way to fix the prices is for everyone to boycott DLC, which will never happen!

I agree that some DLC should be free, especially cars that are stock and without modifications. Brand new tracks, I don't mind paying for BUT existing tracks from previous games should be free. These days will never come though, except for the one or two they throw at us.

Over here in NZ, DLC is really, really expensive. Motegi is $9.50NZD over here. :(

Here in the US, most of the DLC is a day without a coffee and a donut, in in return you get hours of re visitable playtime with new cars and tracks.

I can do without a coffee and a donut for a day.

Coffee is cheaper here but then again our country has some weird pricing on things.

Why do you say that? PD shouldn't be compensated for the work they put in to create the track?

For what it's worth, I'm completely fine with the price. Like I've stated in other threads, I've already got more than $5 worth of enjoyment from the DLC and I'll be loving it while others are complaining about the price or calling me an idiot for choosing to purchase it.

I have no idea how much it costs PD to make and publish this but I'm fine with the price tag.

Over here in the US, we get Motegi for $5.00. I don't think it costs too much, but that's just me.

Think of it, we get two unique tracks and two tracks that are shorter variations of the main course, so we are really getting four tracks that are (not completely) different. Not bad if you think about it.

I'm not sure what the price is up in Canada.

I have to say this logic is flawed mate. So what if the track was in a previous version of the game? PD still has to pay for the license to use the track. Unless otherwise stated in the licensing agreement, the license to use a track or car, doesn't carry over from one game to the next. Seeing as we didn't see the track at release, we can assume with a fair amount of certaincy that PD did not have the license for it.

I'm almost 100 % certain that it costs more for PD to buy a license, than it does to model the track.

Back on topic. I won't be buying Motegi. It's too expensive IMO, espicially considering that Spa was less expensive. Not to mention that Spa simply looked better graphics wise.

5 Euros here. It is a Coffe and a Donut here, too, if you buy it at a Gas Station Shop.

Prices are ok imho. But for countrys like Australia and New Zealand they should realy try and offer it at a lower price, this is not fair!

The price is fine. It's more or less what PD is deciding to release as DLC that bothers me a bit.

Regarding tracks I don't agree, We got Spa Francorchamps and now Motegi, Bathurst was or is beeing scanned... Any new real life circuit makes sense to be added, imo.

I see nothing wrong with the price of the DLC. For £9.34 I got the race car pack, track pack, paint pack and racing gear pack. Plus we got the free car.

If you want to complain about expensive DLC look at the price of the Call of Duty map packs.

I do however which we would have DLC every couple of months as the current DLC is quiet bland.

I think the prices of DLC are reasonable, its good to see that there is still content added to the game. But it would be nice if they add some A spec races to go with the new tracks.

My guess is PD needs more staff desperately, but finding the right people takes time.

Stop looking at t10 because their staff is a lot bigger, can't realy compare those two. They spoil us with their monthly dlc pack's of 10 cars, though they didn't make a track dlc yet.

They are going different directions.

Only if you go for GT instead of forza, you just have to be more patient.

They can still decide to bring it in GT5, theres no proof but the japanese worker on the track, the guy spoke to in the video, that barely spoke any english, just agreeing on everything. And unless the whole development goes to another developer for GT6, I don't see much of a difference if Bathurst is added now or later.

Anyway, Spa came out of nothing, nobody can tell this isn't going to happen again, be it Bathurst or any other track. Same goes for new manufacturers in the NCD.

I would in all honesty pay more for DLC of high quality. A hypothetical example:

The long sought after Porsche DLC. Assuming there are as many DLC purchases as there where GT Acadamy DLs and the Porsche DLC would cost $20, that would Make PD around $20Mil. Now i don't know how much a License costs, but a $20 DLC, which is reasonably priced for say 10+ cars, should more than pay for it.

The way I see it: If it doesn't appear in a DLC, i would have to purchase another game that does have it. A new game would be more costly, so a cheap DLC adding to a very good game is the simple solution.

On a slightly off topic note: I don't understand why Porsche doesn't sell new licenses, it will only add to their popularity and they make a bit money off it. Looks Win-win to me...

Too expensive? Lol how the ones I have brought were at most 15 dollars the twin ring was like 8 dollars Australian it's chump change different if they were like 20 to 30+ dollars but they are not.

I look at it like this. A trip to the movie theater to see a movie (not including the concession stand) will cost me around $10 for a 2 hour movie. For half the price i am able to buy the new GT5 DLC which will give me hours on end of entertainment.

I know man, for me £4 is the cost of a meal at McDonalds! i have no problem with spending that on new content for GT5

omg, imagine all the complaints for a 20$ DLC. But you have a point. I don't care about Porsche but I think I would still buy your DLC, Because it is new content in the end and why not welcome that?
Motegio wasn't free, I would've wanted it for free because it wasn't re-modeled from scratch. I bought it anyway and I can't blame PD for the 5$ but rather Sony.

I personally believe that Porsche doesn't give out the license because of the secret Porsche in GT2, and that they are still mad at PD for putting in a car without having a license to it.
