The free Scion FR-S was way too expensive. I'm frustrated that PD would do that. Whatever.

PMSL! Fantastic Mate!

On par with the decline of interest in GT5, the pricing of the DLSs should have been a lot lower!

This is your subjective opinion or fact? Have some numbers to share?

AFAIK at this moment there is staggering amount of Open Lobby rooms every night (EU side here) with plethora of regulations and last Time Trials had more than 100.000 players on the 2nd day (I always do a slow initial lap to see approx number of players on the Leaderboards).

GTAcademy was downloaded and played by more than 1 million unique PNS ID accounts.

GT5 still resides on many national sales lists, especially those in European countries. For instance it is on #2 spot for PS3 Platinum sales in UK last week (GFK data gives separate listings for Full Price/Budget so we can't know how it compares on current PS3 list with full-price titles), #6 PS3 overall sales in Denmark for last week, #12 in Ireland and #20 on overall games sales in Germany. For a game that has launched over 83 weeks ago it is a damn fine sales and interest I see there.

I see no decline at all, at least judging from the numbers we can see officially.

For the price of Motegi alone i could have bought a months subscription to iRacing :(

So I decided to look this up since comparing DLC and a monthly subscription are two different things. Tracks on iRacing range from $11.95-$14.95. So instead of saying you could have bought one months subscription you could also say for the price of one track in iRacing you can buy Motegi, Spa, and KartSpace in GT. Sounds different then, huh?

Gotta make some cash if they want rights to Formula one :D
Though I don't agree with the result (acquiring F1 rights, which might be near impossible*), I agree with the method. To make GT6 all it can be, they are going to need a very large amount of funds. From GT5 sales and DLC sales, some money will be going directly to Sony, but some will surely find it's way into PD coffers (or budget). As a longtime customer that is interested in purchasing GT6, part of the reason I'll buy the DLC is to support GT6.

*In addition to the exorbitant fees the FOM would demand for an F1 license, I imagine they also want F1 to be a standalone game, which may have downsides (less focus on GT). The upsides would be track-sharing and perhaps more money for PD in the long run, but I just don't see why PD would want to make F1 games in the first place. PD wouldn't want to expand their staff to a great degree and they wouldn't want the rush and deadlines of yearly games.

Do you guys have all the tracks and car packs ? Maybe I'm too cheap, or because I'm 17 and won't use my parents credit car for useless use..

Get a paper route. Mow lawns. Do odd jobs. Show some creative thinking and be resourceful.

A lot lower? In what country do you live in where you say "If only I had five American dollars. Then I would live like a rich man!"?

I got every DLC so far, but this is too expensive. $4 for 1 track?

I would happily buy if it was 2 tracks - Montegi and Silverstone. Or 1 track and 5 nice cars, like CCRX, Huyara, F12 Bernileta, etc.

Treble the price = how much it would cost on a game made by EA

Why do people just make things up to try and make PD look better?

Cost? $10.

I personally dont see the pricing being any problem so far with the GT5 DLC, I've seen alot worse DLC over the years when these viruses fled over the internet.

for example, you purchase a brand new game with 60 Euros (finland) then some of the developers dares to ask for 30 Euros more for a Season Pass which will give you future DLC directly even the customer doesnt have any idea what will the DLC be like and still people buy those Passes and then rant over the dang internet how developers "owns" them better content when the DLC isnt what they were really wishing for.

GT5 costs now what, 20 euros, and with that price how much FREE content you receive ? For a 2 year old game it is still unbeliavable the game still gets updated frequently, havent seen such thing been done on ANY other console game so far.

I hear that many DLC packs cost much more than these on these GT5 so I don't have issue paying what I would pay for fast food for something that I will have for month after month after month etc.... I only want to keep my two year old game as fresh and new as possible, it is my favorite game after all!

Cost? $10.

Simon, since you are a Master in price/value comparision, you should admit that this is pretty expensive,no?

IMO it is, as it looks s*** and drives s***

What, you think that's expensive? For FIVE 100% unique tracks and 14 unique cars?

Even if somehow you do think that's expensive it sill conclusively shows that the person who said any EA DLC would be three times the price of GT5's was flat out making it up.

C'mon now. It's as if you would call a pack of 5 GT Tracks straight out of GT4 without further remodeling and 14 standard cars, for 10$, cheap. You wouldn't! We both know that.

Regarding EA you pay season pass and what not, I think he had a point. Somehow he pushed it a little, but he had a point

Yes but EA also charged £5 for hot pursuit add-ons with 3 cars and have charged me £8 for unlocking all cars on shift2. I was ripped off by them, my fault. Stop complaining about £4 dlcs.

How is that in any way similar? The 5 tracks in NFS were not straight out a PS2 game and neither were the cars.

Plus, don't try to tell me what I'd think.

you don't have to pay for a season pass and no, he didn't have a point. He flat out said that if this content was in an EA game it would cost three times as much. That's clearly not the case.

I'm not complaining about £4 DLC, I was originally correcting a silly point someone made about EA that was simply not true.

Well then in that case you're in no position to say such a thing. If people aren't happy with the DLC price they're entitled to post about it, as long as they're within the AUP. You don't have to read it though, so if it bothers you so much maybe don't open a thread titled 'DLC are too expensive?'.

As I got ripped off by T10. The dlc's up until may i had the seasons pass (1020 ms points i think) then I didn't buy ms points until now. I thought i could just get another pass for may - july dlc, but naw! Now you have the option to get VIP pass, where they tell you, you'd get a discount on Porsche Pack and 'official' dlc (whatever 'official' means) you get tricked by that because the monthly dlc packs somehow aren't 'official'???
So another 1020 on the VIP pass, 900something on Porsche Pack plus 560 ms points on every dlc sunce may, thats 3 month:

1020+1020+960+560+560+560= 4680 mf...sorry MS Points!!! Now that is a rip off

It's a discussion thread. So therefore anyone can have an opinion, it does boer me that people moan about not having dlc and then complaining when they get the dlc.

Yes, but telling people to stop complaining is not an opinion. Anyway I've already voiced my opinion on this DLC quite enough, I was only posting again to correct the silly EA comment so i'll say no more.
