DLC not worth paying for without a track included

I think PD would have sold many more DLC's if there was a track included and they could have priced it to make it worthwhile for themselves.

Just no need for any more cars.

Well, whatever decisions they make, we can't assume what we think is best for them, unless you think you're a marketing expert. It's most likely that they're planning the DLCs for long term (every 2 months?) and also with GT6 in mind, so they're carefully choosing what content to release. If we don't see tracks now, then maybe they're saving it for later DLCs. Who knows?

Agree with the OP (and no, I'm not buying the cars). GT needs TRACKS more than anything. And I hope they do release more in the coming updates/DLC packs.

Hear this PD. I'm a buyer for EVERY track you guys release. So, please ... do release them!

I bought the DLC because I actually wanted 3 out of the 4 cars included, it's all a matter of opinion if the DLC is worth it or not, some people think it is, while others don't, simple as that. I agree that a "track pack" would be nice though.

Too be honest, i love GT5 so much, i will fork out any amount of cash(as long as its reasonable) for any type of DLC, just like COD players with there dlc, yet they pay three times as much, for just 3-4 extra maps.

So for me, it's worth it. For the service PD has provided, with it's continous updates.

I will purchase EVERY dlc they release. Thank you PD for the FREE updates a year later...

Saying that is like jumping into a pool of sharks with a steak tied to you..

I agree with him, the majority of the gaming community are greedy and very ungrateful.
It annoys me that a great (free) update comes out, ten minutes later there is a spec 2.02 dissapointment thread . Lol

Free update? The "updates" are nothing more than patches that are trying to fix the issues the game has had since it's release. After a ridiculous amount of development time, the game was put on the market with so many issues and mistakes that they are still working on getting it right.

I think the only greed here is shown by PD, they released a game that was only half done just to get the cash flowing in. Now they have found that they can put out a DLC every month or two and charge up to 20% of what the game costs and keep milking that cash cow until they do it all over again with GT6.

Then dont buy it Simples.

Yeah, because not buying something helps Polyphony's income, doesn't it? /facepalm

If they included another track they'd get a sale off the OP, and incidentally, me. We need more tracks, not a car pack in which two of them are already in the game.

PD didnt release an incomplete game, Sony forced them to release it. Kaz wanted a further 2 years so all these updates are finnaly getting us to the finnished product, Good work PD so far.

If you feel that constant updates and charging for DLC is greedy or a cheap move for a game developer I suggest you sell your video games and pick up a board game or two. Paying for DLC is now the norm in video games.
I dont want to turn this into a Forza vs GT argument but the same thing is being done by Turn 10. Since release about 2 or 3 car packs have been released (One on the day of release) with about 10 or so cars each pack. These have run about 7$ or so at about 70cents per vehicle compared to GT5's 1.00$ per vehicle. However GT5 uses PSN which doesn't require a superscription fee like XBOX Live. Soo things pretty well even out cost wise if you're just playing the one game.

If you think 4-10 dollars every couple months is too much. then dont but it.

👍 I was just about to say the same thing...

Something is only worth what you are willing to pay for it. I paid my $4. I love the GT-R, the VWs are great, I have never been a Mini fan, but I like the styling on the new one (perhaps the black/silver paint helps). It wasn't part of the DLC, but the 86-GT is great and I got the SP125 kart. I'd like more tracks too, but.a new car make the existing a different experience imo.

Exactly, the Golf R feels different then the Golf GTI, and the new GT-R handles so much better than the 2007 model does. The Scirocco is great to, but I haven't driven the Mini yet. I think its worth the 4 dollars.

I got it and i love it. I can afford $4 so i thought why not. These are cars i can own irl. Its interezting to test drive them around my fav tracks. Im seriously thinking about a scirocco r irl. Im never going to own a $400,000 supercar, they are interesting but i have no real life experience to compare them too.

It's ultimately the same thing and yes it's good that they are actually finishing the game but some people make far too much out of the "They're adding free updates all the time" line of thought. People are jumping for joy and slapping PDs back for allowing wheel changes on standard cars but that should have been in the game from day 1, so it's hardly something to congratulate them on.

Does anybody know how much the UK DLC is priced at?

This times one million.

Most other game companies would release an incomplete game, then make you wait 1-2 years for the next one. Kudos to PD for knowing what they had to do, and are doing it with success. 👍

Nobody would have gotten away with releasing a game as unfinished as GT5 1.00 and not updating it at all, not if they wanted to sell another game anyway.

Very correct. Most games are updated/fixed/patched within weeks/months. People licking the boots of PD because it took them so long to make changes is funny to me. I wouldnt be surpirsed if they didnt update anything if FM4 wasnt released.

I think the piles of crappy games in used game stores proves that wrong.
