I think the piles of crappy games in used game stores proves that wrong.

Give me examples. There is a big difference between finished but still crappy games and unfinished games. Plus crappy games don't usually yeild high selling sequels, which is my point. PD had to fix and finish GT5 if they wanted to sell GT6.

Give me examples.

The only game I own is GT5, so couldn't tell ya. I just know from experience working at GameStop that it's hard to count the number of unfinished and/or crappy games that are released every year. This coming from customer reactions.

Nobody would have gotten away with releasing a game as unfinished as GT5 1.00 and not updating it at all, not if they wanted to sell another game anyway.

Turbo is right. A few examples:

Shift 2 - steering lag issues, freezing in menus and on track, magnetic car issues. There's lots more but game left as is after 2 patches.
NASCAR 2011 - just a game full of bugs and glitches, too many to list. Believe there was 2 patches maybe a 3rd, but still didn't fix most things or even make it much more enjoyable.

Maybe gt5 fans need to get out there a play a few other racing titles from time to time. Then maybe, just maybe....some will appreciate the continued support which is now over a year. Unheard of for a console game.

If anyone still doesn't think PD could've left it as it was at release, I suggest you go play one of those games above. Developers can and will leave games unfinished or glitched all to hell.

Buy another paint pack. It made me feel better about it, maybe you too.

at the same time, thats like 6 bucks for a more powerful gtr, a mini, a volkswagon, a cool volkswagen, and moar paint.

But seriously, you cant go wrong with more paint.

Yeah, because not buying something helps Polyphony's income, doesn't it? /facepalm

If they included another track they'd get a sale off the OP, and incidentally, me. We need more tracks, not a car pack in which two of them are already in the game.

Polyphony's income is not your, my, or anyone else on the board's problem. They want to increase their bottom line, then let them earn it by delivering compelling product. We need more consumers with a sense of discretion to "fix" the industry, not fanboys who'll buy any random extra at any price asked because they feel they owe the dev something.

Shift2 was fun as hell, but bugged to hell. Patches stopped due to EA. Now SMS is making C.A.R.S. for redemption.

NASCAR 2011 was bugged to hell as well. New patch took month and half I think to fix the issues.

The difference? PD had a bigger budget, Sony first party support, and a long ass time. Excuses for them seem to be norm. See the difference is, I can like a game and still point out flaws. Most people here seem to not able to do that with GT5.
