I'm fine with it. No complaints here. Anything to add to the game I am all for.

Well... it kinda is turning into a GT5 vs Forza debate so I would say no more. If not, then ok.

Admittedly, I may have had more to do with that than I probably realize, but this originally started out as a disagreement amongst the content tied to it's asking price.

Are you moderator? No, therefore, unless told officially I'll say whatever, wherever.

Don't like it? Don't read it.

I'm not even going to address the ridiculous statement about the game itself.

there is another thread out there where you can discuss turn 10 and their worthless game vis a vis GT5 to your heart's content. This is about GT5 and the new DLC pricing policies.

At this point the only one continually bringing it up is you.

Do it once more and you'll be reported.

For everyone complaining about the DLC price, check out Need for Speeds lately. 2.99 FOR A SINGLE CAR. We already have over 1000 cars to drive. Need for Speeds only have about 50? I am glad to pay 1$ a car.

Speaking of NFS/EA and it's prices - what's this nonsense about a $100 CCX add-on? :odd:

NFS is charging $100 for the CCX but you can get it for 25% off til December 21st. So a ridiculous $75 DLC will then become a dumbfounding $100 DLC. Thank heavens the folks at PD are more intelligent than the baboons running around at EA.

Does a scale model come with the purchase of this DLC? Does it have 100% real-time accurate audio?

Does it come with anything remotely tangible?

It comes with the sobering reality of paying one week's worth of food shopping for something that has no physical tangibility just to play a Free online game.

I'm a car nut. I used to pay around $4 for a magazine, and I pay $3 for a Hot Wheels car. At $1 a piece, my only issue with GT DLC cars is that they aren't coming nor as many neither as soon enough for my taste.

Come on, I know it's technically paying for some intangible amount of coding, but it's something I'll enjoy. I'm still a little child and I drool for everything car-like, wether it'll end up in one of my bookshelves, join my collection of die-casts, or show a different pattern of images on my TV and make my G27 shake.

I've had beers for the same price as a GT5 DLC car, and I've enjoyed them far less, so why not buying moar DLC?

The price isn't to bad, but what I don't understand is why conversion rates don't kick in..... UK is clearly paying the most for the DLC :odd:

You managed the impossible and were able to contradict yourself within 2 sentences!

- GT5 was complete
- They started completing (updating) it
- GT5 (like Forza) has DLC
- GT5 is selling the game in parts to make cheap money

Bravo!

Wrong.

GT5 was complete just like any other game out there. Updates was not necessary. This means they not only care about sales but also they care about the game and try to improve it with updates. Pretty awesome :)

As far as DLC goes. Forza has DLC with in a month of release. They wanted people to buy season pass. It was planned:

GT5 DLC were not planned. They are going by demand. I do not think DLC are too important. They should just keep updating the game and the whole team needs to works on GT6 instead. Since there is demand they are releasing more content.

Looking at the trend these days I think next GT game they might also come up with season pass and planned DLC

Really? So, on the day of release GT5 had multiplayer, leaderboards, lobbies/matchmaking, and friend invites?

Really? I gotta tell you, I must not be as proficient at reading as I originally thought, because as I look at it right now, on the back of the GT5 cover art it states, as clear as day: "ADD-ON CONTENT". Which, to me, you know, says they were planning DLC from the get-go as well.

There's also the little factor of PD (or was it Kaz himself?) having stated that they were working on the HSV-010 and it wouldn't make it into the game before the launch date.

Wrong.

Except it wasn't. It isn't now (features on the back of the box still not in the game and all that), and there isn't a single standard which makes it so it was when it came out. Because:

It shipped complete? You mean, v1.00, which had absolutely no online portion included (that was included in the release-day v1.01 patch)? Ah.

Among other things.

Which Kaz admitted. And Kaz apologized for. And Kaz said he would fix. So stop beating this dead horse. Especially when you already said that you were wrong:

Same can be said about any other game. The difference here is PD acknowledged it and they try to improve it with updates.

This is a moot point because GT5 isn't any different at this point, if it ever was.

Really? Mine doesn't mention any such thing. :boggled:
You could argue that all the updates are "add-on"; the 86 certainly is.

I don't think for a second PD were never planning to add extra stuff to the game, but paid for DLC wasn't certain at the beginning.

American cases also mention leaderboards and matchmaking but EU customers don't seem to have it:tup:

I believe that the "ADD-ON" content means the updates that we were getting. If it was "DLC", it would have clearly said it in back of the box.

Tell ya what, show up at your job and at the end of the month when your boss says "you've worked all month for nothing", let's see how you like it.

Really? Do gamers have such a skewed sense of finance that four bucks is enough to play the outraged gamer card? Are you kidding me? In what industrialized country do you come from that you sit around and say "If only I had four American dollars. Then I would live like a rich man!"?

Get real.

OK, let's say Forza had these DLC cars made when the game was released. If they released everything they had with the game, people would still be wanting DLC, yet there would be no DLC left to sell. Then people would be complaining about the lack of DLC. However, since Turn 10 is releasing DLC once a month, people are complaining that the DLC should have already been in the game or it's too expensive for the content. This in effect makes for a lose/ lose situation.

Now, when GT5 first came out, Kaz said he didn't plan on releasing any DLC. After the game was out for a while, people started complaining about a lack of DLC. So PD started putting out DLC, and people started complaining that the content should have been in the game already or it's too expensive for the content. Once again, a lose/ lose situation.

I guess the bottom line is that you can't please everyone.

I believe that the "ADD-ON" content means the updates that we were getting. If it was "DLC", it would have clearly said it in back of the box.

Depending on the interpretation one uses, and what's actually included within said updates, they can easily be considered DLC. Take Spec II for example that was definitely DLC.

On the back of the Dead Space 2 CE box it states "game-content download; X360", and while that's just a bit more direct, it isn't any different than add-on content.

I'm curious how many times it has to be said that that isn't the issue before people get that that isn't the issue.

Version name is meant for bug fixes, patch, not DLC.

There is a big difference between DLC released just a month after release and GT5 DLC. If there is a demand they will make more DLC. They probably have lots of cars, tracks in WIP may be for GT6.

The major difference. In most games they intentionally take the content from game to sell it seperately as DLC. This is not the case for GT5

So? What does that have to do with your claim?

One of these cars was confirmed by Kaz himself to have been nearly finished over a year ago. The apparently finished it just after the game went gold. The only difference is that PD held it back for a year and Turn 10 did not.

Prove it.
