I never use ASM but for rear wheel drive anything above 900 horses is just about impossible to control even with analogue buttons so i use TCS, but hey, so do F1 cars so it aint cheating.

ASM is off unless it is a completely uncontrollable car or a stock race.

TCS is adjusted, depending on the car. Most FF's, I keep it between 3-5. Most 4WD it is between 0-3. Most FR is is between 2-4. Most MR it is between 3-5.

I don't feel like it is necessarily a faux pas to use these electronic aids since so many performance cars come with them now (I won't use them with the Shelby Cobra, though). It just depends on how you like to drive and what helps you turn in your best times.

Werner, that's not your personal play area, is it?

NEway, depends what kinda race. I prefer it off, BUT I haven't mastered it to the point that tire wear won't become a problem... the TCS seems to save the tires quite a bit, and anyway, I win just fine with them on... however, I always like ASM low/off, because it greatly solves understeer.

I tried driving the RX-7 RS with 0 TCS/ASM off and it was really fun! OMG it brings something new to GT3... and u can get faster times using it!

and u can get faster times using it!
OMG those are exactly the words of a noob!

man, always off, no matter what car im in, always off

you can post increadible lap times with the TCS and ASM systems turned completely off, with careful throtle control you can always keep your tires squarely planted on the road and with even more throttle control you never have to "tap"(tap the gas repeatedly) the throtle through the tightest of hairpins, TCS and ASM just make a car slow and tight, they understeer like crazy and it takes much realism out of the game, turn it off, take a few laps, youll like it more :)

best lap at Midfield:
53.137/FO94/S

tell me your great laptimes so we can compare, also include whether or not you ran TCS ASM or a auto or manual tranny

Always off, I still use the Auto tranny, though. I'm faster with the manual, but I just can't be bothered to use it.

Perhaps pressing the accelerator a bit less might help?

Seriously though - it's a great opportunity to learn about weight transfer and grip budgets.

When I first got the game, I turned it off and have never used it.
Throttle control is critical to good times and manual shifting is the tits when it come to weight transfer and making or breaking apex's. :D
Ive enjoyed the game so much more using the manual gearbox and wonder why I havent ever used it before.
Have fun.

I only run with it totally off on my lower powered cars. On the rods I usually run it cranked down to one or two notches from being off.

I'm still working on brake points, etc. enough to need a little assistance.

Do some throttle-blipping if you have to... not quite as effective accelerator lightly, but a good way to do it until you master TCS/ASM-free driving. ;)

first of all , no I don't use either , second I am mad that I have to go turn it off every time I get a new car I mean really c'mon do you want your grandma to drive for or would you rather have full control ? as far as tires go the stickier the better if you ask me unless you have more than ten laps to go

If you go to your options button in a race or testing situation before you hit the "start" button you can turn TCS/ACM completely off and not have to worry about adjusting them down to zero with each new addition to your garage.
