What's your thought about this. Do you care if your savegame includes duplicates, freebies or cars traded for your duplicates? There has been opinions about this both for and against. So now it's time to be honest.

My save's clean and I want it to stay that way. No freebies, no duplicates, no nothing. I don't even have a secondary PSN account and I doubt I ever will.

Yes. The only "trades" that I have done have been to lend someone a car they needed, but couldn't be bothered wasting money on (Truck race etc).

I don't begrudge anyone else who chooses to duplicate cars if it means that they continue to enjoy GT5 for longer as it doesn't effect me one iota.

Wow! People are more clean than I expected after reading the trading threads. :) The only car I've duplicated was an X2010 to a friend with the text "Cheat or delete". Not sure what he did.

The only thing I dupe is colors. All my cars, with the exception of an AE86(which I traded for, then minutes after the trade it showed up in the UCD and bought that one.), i paid for myself.

So I wouldn't call my save "tainted".

I find the whole duping thing to be pretty childish.

With two runs of the Indy American Championship race you can buy and tune all but the very top cars in the game.

Whats the point in playing a game when you use a cheat or exploit to gain all the rewards without any effort or accomplishment?

But I guess it makes the teenagers feel big? Seems to be the only people who like to dupe are the same kids you see in all those online lobbies that do nothing but run a Veyron up and down that one tunnel straightaway.

It's just stupid...

Nope. Duped cars and birthday glitched cars and cars that I bought and sent to an alt, restored the save and sent them back to myself.

I've traded, for cars I collect, and for ones I want to get rid of but I dont have more than one PSN or dupe or do anything like that as mainly I cba and dont see the point of it.

The only thing I've done is gifted cars to my GTP account so I could level it up, otherwise no cheating for me.

Never duped, although I did enter a raffle to win a 370z GT Academy. I don't know if the cars I traded for are duped, but I doubt any of us do.

Yes my save is clean, considering it's sitting on a sealed hard disk that was assembled in a clean room. As far as "cheating" yes I've duped and glitched to attain the garage that I have and I don't see the big deal. I'm no part of the stereotypes trying to be created on these forums, I am not a teenager or try to overpower online races or even a-spec races. This is a driving simulator not a morality simulator get over it.

At the moment yes, but in the future I may give in when I have 20mil and need to buy all the 20mil cars that I don't have. I have at the moment over 300 unique cars.

Yes, because running in a circle is BIG accomplishment.
To be honest, I don't think there really is an accomplishment anymore with getting cars and tuning em. Half an hour on this week's seasonal events nets you a gain of about 3 million credits (3.5 mil - .5 mil for getting cars)

Why I voted no:
I duplicate cars, but I don't duplicate them for money.
I duplicate them for drifting, cops&robbers, cat&mouse, soccer (football), and other fun activities. I dupe them to clan mates so we can run them together.
I've birthday exploited classic cars just so I can take pictures of em.
I accepted a duped X2010 and deleted it after I accomplished the X2010 challenge. I didn't like having the duped X2010 in my garage after winning 3 of em.

However, even though I would duplicate cars for all of those reasons:
I do NOT duplicate cars that I will race online. I feel like it is unfair to use duplicated cars online, so I buy my cars with the money that I win from seasonal events.

I answered NO because it is the truth that I have duped cars in my garage, but I don't use the duped cars online for racing.

Yes, why would I want to cheat myself out of the experience?

Even though it may drag on at times or seem endless.

I just take a break and then come back when I get the urge.

I'm not into instant gratification that much unless a turle is trying to stick his head out or something else of that nature. :nervous:

What gifting a car back and forth between accounts only to get the paint duped? I find that a feature :)

Besides that, all clean.

My game is clean as it could be.

Now its not saved (backed up)

Still trying to figure out how to do so. Help?

I don't understand the point of grinding well over 10 hours of the most money-efficient race, all just to buy a single $20,000,000 car.

I've duplicated cars, and my save is still clean. Get over it. It's only dirty if you use it that way.

For example:

NOS Waster

Perfectly reasonable.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. The content of this game (cars) was meant to be enjoyed by everyone. Everyone may also choose to play the way they want. If you want to have an elitist attitude, show off your trophies. Those can't be duped and I have yet to see anyone with a Platinum trophy for this game. (If you have one, you're a badass. Man oh man is that rare.)

Following the train of thought that certain cars weren't earned; I would also argue that my game is more pure than many others. Why? Because I'm finishing A-Spec before starting on B-Spec. Did you use Bob's winnings and cars to help you in A-Spec? Go ahead and deny it but you know the truth.

Final thoughts:
  • Grinding doesn't make you better. Practice does.
  • If you don't like online play, create a room with the limitations you want, or go offline.
  • Lastly, and most important.... IT'S A GAME. QUITE WHINING!
