Do you like SSR5's updated scenery?

I think it looks a lot more realistic, like an actual city. 👍 But the removal of the grandstands makes it feel a little lifeless. :nervous:

I miss SSR11. That track was dope. Both versions were great. It blows my mind that PD left out one of the most memorable tracks in the series.

No. I hate it. Its incredibly bland. If you're going to make a cool fantasy track, make it stand the **** out compared to the rest!

SS7 is even worse.

Cool tracks to drive on, but bland scenery.

Bland because it's lacking grandstands? Or what?

I loved the GT1 version of SSR11, it was funny that you could see the cars on the road above when u were on the lower level.

I need to see the new look on SSR5

I like the section with the trees with lights, always makes my frame rates drop out when a few cars go through bunched up together, usually causing me to mistime my corner entry on the exit and smack the wall.

they should connect all the SSRs. make it like a highway race/ free roam...

This.

It already looks like they're all in the ssme fictional "Tokyo-esque" city, so this would be great together with a revival of SS11.

100% true friend.

I loved the new looks... its a lot more city-a-like... darker and lonelly in some areas... like a city late at night should be above the highways and buildings, etc.

They should really connect SSR5 and SSR7... that would be epic.

Am I missing somethign hear? do you mean update from GT4-Gt5 or has there been an update of the GT5 version?

This. Has the track been updated or something?

Otherwise, I really like the change from GT4 to GT5. Looks a lot more realistic, as you have put it.

Not really. It feels too empty and unfinished, in my opinion. I prefer GT4's SSR5 better since it feels more... i don't know, busy? BTW, they should bring back SSR11.

I prefer GT4's version of SSR5 but GT5's version isn't bad by any means.

I liked it initially, but when I actually started punching out laps it seems to be a weird combination of bland and distracting.

This. ^

In response to the op, I like it! Feels vey dark and isolated, much like a city at night should feel.

I love the new look SSR5. The hairpin is great, it's like they took an old parking lot and set it up there. I look forward to that part ever lap. It's nice to have a night track that doesn't have 1,000s of fireworks going off.

I love the new track now I've started remote racing, looks gorgeous.

I don't really spend much time looking at it when I'm driving :)

I like the noise the expansion joints make as you scream up the straight.

Think they've overdone the street lights somehow, when you look up the straight they merge into one super-bright spot. I love the tree lights though...

Although I haven't got Gran Turismo 5 (or a PlayStation 3 for that matter ), I've seen screenshots and videos of the new SSR5. To be honest, I hate it. Its so bland, especially the first part of the lap. Also, the fact they've changed it to such a large extent is a problem for me because it removes that tracks connection from previous Gran Turismo games in my opinion.

SSR5 is okay, but I do miss the grandstands.

The thing I like about Gran Turismo track designs is that they always set up the fictional circuits to be staged as actual races with grandstands, crowds, marshals, and the like. I like the race day atmosphere, and to not have any big crowds but to have the huge race trailers for the pits makes it seem like they put on a big event no one came to :(

That said the real crime is no updated SSR11. Everytime I load up the high-def SSR7, see the rain drizzle, the amazing atmosphere, and the incredible tunnel lighting and glare, I get angry that it was all wasted on a drag-racing track and not a real circuit at night in the city.

Uh what, did i miss anything but when is got it updated? it looks the same for me i dont understand, u playing in arcade mode?

I like the changes very much. In previous versions of GT SSR5 was just the same as all the other tracks, but with a dark purple sky instead of a bright blue one.

Now it actually looks like it's at night.

It's not a bad course, but it is a bit dark just before the tunnel at the beginning and it's quite hard to place where the start/finish line is. Has this artificial dark thing going on that is horrible and needs to be changed to the realistic darkness that the day/night transition course use. SSR 7 needs to be tossed away as well, what a pointless addition, no pit just a highway north and south, ugh. Give me Red Rock Valley, SSR11, Mid-Field Raceway anything but SSR7. I would take the Las Vegas drag strip over SSR7.

Lighting on SSR5 needs to be more realistic, the funky smog at night is lame, your headlights look like they barely have any effect.

I like I guess, never seen it before the update though. don't really like the SSR7, cause its very boring. could use some buildings, or something. But what I don't like at all is the sky. its just grey, very boring. I love the Tuscan tarmac sky. also The walls seem to flicker on SSR7
