Do you still support PD?

I'm glad they're still updating and possibly improving the game, so yes.

I do miss the variety of races and the feel of the old games tho.
Especially the sounds and menue styles...

Very well put.

It is just too bad you can only play FM4 on the most unreliable system ever made. Ive been thinking of picking up a $100 refurb from Gamestop for when FM4 comes out...I might wait till I see reviews. I think it will be crazy in these forums when it does....
Also very well put, and something I hope to at least be financially able to consider, though I doubt I can deal with racing without a wheel anymore, so my expenses would end up through the roof. (for me)

before GT5 I was a huge PD and GT fanboy (altho GT4 did worry me in places). But GT5 has completely rocked my faith in PD. It's not just that it's unfinished, it that's the patches have done as much harm as good IMO. Standing starts were removed, to be replaced by horrendously crap single file rolling starts. Ai was inproved in some areas but made worse in others so a case of one step forward but two back. Adding useless content that the vast majority of people didn't care about, horns (I know, not patched in but still a complete lad of crap), suits. (altho the suits are not bad but FIX the game first).

I completely doubt their ability to manage their time and focus on the core parts of the GT franchise. Unless they are focusing on what Kaz thinks needs focusing on, in that case GT will die for me personally.

Yeah but when Tornado does it at least he provides proof from where he gets it and just doesn't try to go straight from memory.
Security restrictions on the work computer have made it very difficult to search for such things...or pretty much anything for that matter. Actually, this is one of only 2 forums that I can get on w/o getting locked out. But to be completely honest, i dont care enough to try that hard, even if i was at home. ahh..you got me:rolleyes:

I'm supporting PD .

For me i enjoy the game, bit short on a spec, but the seasonals give me more to do...

Once Eurdo savs comes, will allow me to finish the last couple of those races. All in All a great game for me.

I have always enjoyed GT and Allways will tho.

Personally, I can't see myself playing any other game. But I'm also less of a gamer and more of a car and racing fan/nut. Even after 6 months, there's still things to discover, tracks/cars to enjoy. If there's DLC, it's great but if this is all there is, I'm quite satisfied.

You're sarcasm wasn't needed considering I'm talking about Toronado on a general scope and not trying to make a swipe at you. However, if that is your take from it I apologize but insist that you might want to say something in PM rather than trying to explain yourself openly when I was not trying to make fun of you...

Back to the main point though I'm just highly dissapointed by the modeling of the standard cars that have been exported through two other games to this one. Kaz and crew were working on this game for a long time and seemed to really make from scratch the permium cars. Still frames of standard cars easily show the flaws and sometime make them look only slightly better than the GT4 game they were taken from.

GT keeps from spending the REAL money on cars right? lol...that is what i tell my wife when she complains about me playing too much.

I appreciate that respectful response and do apologize for the sarcasm...immature of me yes. I did take it in a negative way as i was the only one to not have proof.

Ha...I contradicted myself. I should probably take my own advise.

And the end result was to release a game so unfinished that you couldn't even adjust gear ratios until that was fixed with a patch (and when that was fixed, it wasn't fixed right, and we had to wait for another patch to fix them properly). Nearly a year later, and the game is still missing functionality listed on the game box.
Gear ratio customization and charting system is still broken, by the way. It's got the same bugs it had in GT4, in which displayed lines on the chart didn't make much sense and that one had to use "tricks" in order to really be able to fully customize ratios. As of now, for example, it is not possible by ordinary means to have a proper long first gear as demanded by racing needs.

It alright no worries at all.:)

Back to the topic, I think I still have a soft spot in my heart for GT and think anyone who grew up with the series still does even after being dissapointed with this rendition of it. I have a feeling GT6 will be good and Kaz to avoid the twitter swarm will develop a proper GT game where fans aren't holding out or just down right mad at him.

I had that feeling due to a 6 year wait for GT5, and look where that ended up.
I'm currently just looking for clues that PD is headed in the right direction more than anything, the suits and helmets update was the opposite of that, no matter how easy it may have been for them.

I sure hope it follows like gt1-gt2, and gt3-gt4 did....as in improving in most areas and releasing 2 games per console. The thing Im afraid of is if they get unexpectedly sideswiped by the PS4 release, while them planning for a PS3 release. It wouldnt be out of character for PD to be unorganized that way. With a new operating system brings delays, hurried reprogramming, glitches, etc....could be another gt5 mess all over again. Just hope for the best.

Things is PD and Sony got big together in the gaming world on the same timeline, I dont really see Sony too much without PD and I for sure don't see PD without Sony. Now days it's more so about money and getting games out there as to back then it just seemed to be making the best products and gaming. With gaming doing so much more now days, sony can press their game makers and even if the game isn't great know they'll still make money from long time fans, or make money off of other games, PS store, and other non-gaming items. Yet I think PD is trying to hard to compromise with Sony when they need to remind them what they've done for sony and how much fan base they bring in and especially if we get download content.

Its always been about money, anything and everything....but companies and people in general have lost the true base. Tech evolves so fast i think it might top vehicles in rushed production...thats were quality and QA fails. Whats funny is, we, or at least I, have absolutely no idea what goes on behind the scenes. What matters to me is that PD survives long enough to do what i know Kaz's dream is...to create the perfect racing SIM. If he means by that what I hope he means, it would be untouchable. Whether I have to wait 2yrs or 30yrs(if Im still alive lol)...that my friends is support. Personally i look at Gt5 as a stepping stone, a very fun and amazing stepping stone. With the current increase and company expansion, this seems to be a very promising thing as of to date.

I think PD has done a pretty good job. Mainly because I'm still playing the game. In my opinion, GT5 is the best console racing game available.

Many of my friends have migrated to iRacing because it's a more realistic simulation game. It has some very interesting features; my favorite is the safety rating. You are rated on your driving for each race and your rating may increase or decrease. You can only race with other people who have the same rating. Awesome stuff for online.

This post just sums it up for me, about my opinion of Polyphony

Technologically, I don't worry about GT6. Give Polyphony the hardware and they will deliver something special.

Car wise, I don't worry about GT6. Polyphony will have around 500 premiums good to go. That's plenty.

Track wise, I don't worry about GT6. Polyphony will have more tracks built to 'Ring standard.

Game and feature wise? I worry massively. Polyphony have absolutely no idea how to make a game; they have absolutely no idea how to prioritise features.

The fact that garbage like B-Spec and Remote Racing were included in place of in-depth car customisation/modification and tuning show how disjointed Polyphony are from reality. The fact they rehashed the same garbage design from years gone by is another indication of GT's stagnation.

GT6 needs to be something fresh and modern, not the same rehashed garbage all over again.

Why I certainly do! Sure they can do more, and they will given they can build on GT5 and not have to start from scratch. I think they've heard the moaning and will create something special for PS4

Support PD how? Like I should be sending them donations to buy food or something?

Or do you mean "review the game now"? GT5 is still a great game, yes it has flaws, but it still holds my attention enough to make me want to play it 9 months after release.

I always find threads like this a little strange, people seem to be under the impression that PD owe them something more than the game in the box. Like PD should make the game they way they are told to by the people that play it, rather than the game they want to make.

If you don't like what PD have done, don't play the game. Trade it in, throw it in the bin, shoot it, launch it into space, whatever you feel like. But quit whinging onto the internet about the unfairness of PD not making the game you think they should have made. Just get over it.

I also support PD. I wish there was a bit more to it but hopefully more is coming. I would love to get int forza but don't have room in my small condo for 2 wheels.

GT5 has alot of problems but I always seem to be drawn back to it.

Yes and no.

No, because they took far too long to deliver a sub-par product, with crucial features missing and no game component.

Yes, because having seen the less-than-stellar reaction to GT5 from gamers and the press, I would imagine Sony will be keeping a closer eye on what Polyphony Digital are doing, rather than taking this back seat role and letting PD do whatever they like - the latter of which is quite clearly no longer the right approach.

Sony Worldwide Studios have some incredible resources that could be tapped into, and it's time Polyphony started doing that.

Yes, I still support PD and will continue to do do in the future. Sure, GT 5 didn't live up to all the expectations set but it is still a great game. My favorite game of all time, in fact. It shipped with less content than we expected and sure it had some bugs and issues but by no means did they ship a broken or unplayable game. Features that were advertised or mentioned had to be cut to make the release date but it was still a very good game.

What I truly love about this game and what PD is doing is the post release support it had received. How can you not appreciate the fact that they have done nothing but add to and fix the game, all for free. Not many developers would do that, especially in this day of release day paid DLC that should be included on the disc. Heck, for some games it is on the disc, but you still have to pay extra to get it.

I also don't need daily communication from PD. They are working to fix and and to game, have made it know, I don't need more. I don't know why, but in the age of Facebook and twitter people feel they have the right to access all information immediately. If PD wants us to know they will tell us. Good enough for me.

Sorry for the long post, good developer who made a good game, and is doing everything they can to support the product without charging us an arm and a leg. That's fine by me.

Well a thread like this is instant attraction for complaints about PD to the people who don't... :indiff: It's to be expected.

How else can people highlight their dissatisfaction with the game? Or do you just want a game tailored to you exact needs and desires and everyone who disagrees can just shut up?

It's actually a very valid thread question and I think that despite those that support PD fully, GT5 HAS damaged PDs image in the eyes of Millions. They've done an Arsenal IMO, they were at or near the top for a while but have let standards slip. I'm not happy with that, PD should be more like Man Utd, able to change and stay at the top.

I do support them because they have brought us updates. Other game companies (EA, *Cough, Cough*), are not devoted to a game like PD is to GT5. Yes, other companies will add features to the game, but for money. You're telling me that if any other company had a racing game that had driver suits they wouldn't charge you for them?

What about the online car dealership? They already put a used car dealership in, but since we would have trouble finding cars, we could go there to get one, so they added that for us.

Sure, I feel that they could have done better and I was a bit disappointed but I STILL enjoy GT5. Kazakhstan admitted it wasn't done, but because theybwere under pressure from Sony and us. All of us.

Being a bit cynical about this, but wouldn't Sony just tell PD to carry on as they have, given how well GT5 has performed at retail?
But there is continuation to worry about.

How many people who played GT5 will think GT6 is an insta-purchase? I don't, and quite a few people on GTP, around the 'net and people I know who bought GT5 don't think GT6 is a must-have buy either.

And the complaints are usually the same: GT is stale, hasn't evolved, is rehashing the same design and is missing crucial features...all of which are true.

Maybe they'll always be a constant influx of new players who are curious about the GT "experience" to keep GT this multimillion selling game time after time; but surely it's better to keep existing users happy as well?

In-depth car customisation/personalisation, tuning and modification are absolute musts for GT6, as well a fresh design and just some goddamn common sense in the game design.

Make this clear before GT6 releases, and I think they could go a long way to making GT6 even bigger than what it could be at launch. The competition is already delivering features that are important; Polyphony on the other hand are delivering features that nobody wanted or asked for. They can't afford to make the same mistake with GT6 in my own opinion.
