I ahd pre-ordered a Collectors Edition, but I cancelled it.. This car list and track list are disappointing after such a long development time. Where are some new cars? Since 99% of them already were in GT5p or GT4..
I think I'll buy the standard edition now.. But I'm not sure yet..
Weather in tracks is a disappointment, the number of tracks that support it especially, but Im also not really satisfied about the animations.. There are games that offer a better wet weather system.

I liked the book in the CE, but further we Europeans didn't have any extras.. Well some special tuned cars I don't care about, an XMB-theme, some stupid post cards and that's it..

I admit: I have only played GT5:P, but as someone else said: GT3 had only 150 cars and no-one complained, as far as I know.

Plus, maybe these so-called 'hardcore fans' should alter their expectancy level. A line should be drawn somewhere. You asked for weather. They put it in. You asked for nightracing. They put it in. You asked for better physics. They put it in. You asked for better engine sounds. They put it in. The list goes on.

The most peculiar thing of all is this: you give a verdict of an unreleased game. You either stole a copy or you are God.

Too bad you rank quantity over quality, by the way.

I dont need to own a copy to see what tracks are missing. :sly:

And I dont need to own a copy to know the extra options they have put in seem very limited.

As for quantity over quality... sorry not at all.

I would much have preferd to have 300 -350 premiuim cars and do away with standards. I just don't get why include them but take away options from previous games which are in fact very simple to implement.

The reason nobody complined about GT3 and only having 150 cars, was because it didnt have 400 cars , but 250 were only half the quality. If that were the case back then people would have complained.

Glad to see my perception that your new to GT was correct too.

This thread is bit pointless to me. If you don't want it, cancel the preorder and dont buy the game. End of story.

I think you have missed the point of this thread.

I will buy GT .. why wouldn't I it's going to be a great game. ( although could have been better )

But the point is, that's how I feel about it.. how do other's..

And as it turn's out, I'm not the only one who feels let down.

This isnt a thread to tell me to either buy it or don't.. I am able to make that decision on my own merit.. :sly:

I canceled CE too. Preordered "standard" version!

Why on earth would I even wanna drive deutsche bus und schwimmwagen? I wanna drive FXX, CL 65 AMG, Focus RS not S2000 99', 00', 01', 02', 99' eu, 00' eu, 01' eu, 02' eu, 99' us, 00' us, 01' us, 02' us ... and some crappy mazdas.

I mean they have AMG Academy and no great AMGs? S AMG??? SL AMG??? ML AMG??? CLK AMG??? What the hell?

Omg, forza has 400 cars with interior view, which I don't give a ... if they are not super duper modeled.

Instead of 800 standard cars, give me extra 200 premium so that game will have 400 premiums.

I'm with you....

maybe my head go hyper hyped in this 5 years, but i really expected more from this game.
FERRARI is an example, we have all prey for this brand, and finally there is with what????? with 4 cars more tha gt5p???
no please wakeup me, i'm living a nightmare.

I'm currently on the fence.. I'm a firm believer of the show them with your wallets mentality. I'd like to think they'll track how many CE sales they lose and hear our message.. Either way, all these years.. meh. With work starting on GT6 what does that say about DLC? Look at how long it takes for a release, I can't imagine DLC while production of the next title is underway.

Still getting the CE. If the Signature Edition was available stateside Id get that instead. Long time GT fan. Been playing since release of the first game and I personally think the complaining is ridiculous. This is like GT1 on the PS1 and GT3 on the PS2 anyone expecting different was delusional. Im not saying Im not disappointed because I am. Every single release disappointed me because I always want more. We all want more but PD had to build a foundation. Everything had to be rebuilt for the new hardware. Cars and tracks are not easily updated, they are rebuilt. We got a rebuilt engine(physics and graphics) and the newly rebuilt tracks and cars. This is the PS3's GT3 with all the cars from the past added to the game which Im ecstatic about. Sure I want interior views for all cars but we still get 200+ cars with interiors(more than in GT3) to race on a similar number of tracks + a track generator and for fun we can still race all the older cars with the new physics engine that include mechanical damage. Pretty sweet IMO.

Most people that come out with ... DEAL WITH IT.. STOP CRYING ETC ETC... will most likely not be hardcore GT fans.
That's my opinion too. Am I not a hardcore GT fan? I've been to every one of the 12 UKGTP LANs. I've driven a 1500mile round trip to Holland for a LAN. I've played every PAL version of GT. PD owe us nothing. I agree that there could be a better selection of tracks and a better selection of cars, but you've still got more cars and tracks than just about any other game out there, and the physics are going to be top drawer too judging by the Prologue physics.

@Sonic Volcano - Having only 80 posts my guess is this your first / second GT game ?
He's been here longer than you. Is this your first/second game? See how making assumptions makes you look silly?

Sorry but it's the hardcore GT'ers that will miss the content way more..
No, we won't. We'll buy it anyway. PD are not aiming GT5 at us. They've got us already.

and its the hardcore GT'ers , that have helped pay for this title to be made.
No, it isn't. It's the casual gamer that made money for PD.

GT4 sold 11 million copies. A hardcore GT fan is probably a member of an online forum. GTPlanet, the biggest GT online forum, has 145,000 members. So that's 145,000 copies sold to hardcore gamers. Lets add other sites to that and estimate that hardcore gamers payed for 300,000, no, lets be generous, 500,000 copies. Where did the other 10 and half million copies go?

Casual gamers.

Oh, and to answer your topic, I'm still getting the Signature Edition and a normal edition.

People should stop bringing the CE - STD into this thats totally different to SE - CE partiiculary in costs.
CE is worth the money I reckon SE is a bit harder to justify......

Its quite simple though many ordered the "Signature Edition" because of their expectations of the game.

Now some are realising it seems their expectations in some things regards the game are falling a bit short and that makes you reconsider if your happy spending the extra.

It all comes down to customer satisfaction, people dont mind paying more for something if it satisfies them. What we usually dont like as consumers is paying more than we need particulary when something might not satisfy them as much as they previously assumed.

Me personally I need a real nice juicy new trailer and hey perhaps only Kevin Butler might convince me not to drop down from "SE-CE"

hahaha, herrlich 👍

you're right about that but to be honest, and im a huge AMG brabus fan, there aren't that many AMG's that are actually worth to be in the game.
C63 amg : YES, SL55 AMG: YES, SLS AMG : YES... S class... no, for autobahn driving/cruising yes but not for a race sim.

I'd had more Audi RS models and older BMW M's

Chris

Still have my Signature Edition fully paid months ago and that will not change. It's all a matter of personal view on it and for me as a long GT fan, it doesn't bother me at all and I'll get all my money's worth for sure :)

1000 cars and still cars missing, what a let down.
Only 20 tracks. Buuaaaaaaaaa
I just cancelled my pre-order and sell my ps3, because I heard that GT5 will be like other GT´s only with better graphic and better physic and only 1000 cars. What a let down...

lol where are all the moans coming from? FM forums?

and to OP:
You will be a GT enthusiast? lol You are clearly not.But hey seems we have reached the era of the whining web. Its ridicules, everywhere I look into forums most people are moan and crying, why? I mean most of us own a PS3 a TV and internet, a pc....what else do you want?

A true GT enthusiast will buy GT whatever it is.

I'm still getting the U.S. CE.

Considering your a supermoderator , you have completely missed the point of this thread too , and turned it into a i'll prove this guy wrong as much as I can, Nice one.

try reading the previous posts before passing any kind of misunderstood comment.

This thread is about your feeling's concerning GT5.

And no volcano hasnt been here longer than me, again try reading previous posts first. I have been here for many years, but under different names. and not always a registered user.

You need to get the CE to be an enthusiast now? Ive purchased every game on release day and I couldnt care less about this CE outside of the book, which I can probably get in PDF form for free on the internet shortly after release anyway.

I don't really see how the car and track lists affect which version I buy. I have the CE preordered for the extra swag that comes with it, the game itself doesn't affect any of that stuff.

Well it effects it in the way your paying twice as much for the same game as in what's on the disc ( extra's aside )

I'll still buy the CE (european ed., it costs 20€ more...) but I can't hide my delusion for the car list... kaz has been living under a rock in the last 2 years? where are all the newest models? I have hope in DLCs but it's not so good to pay just to have cars that should have been included in the game disc....

This
I'm still getting my CE and i'm happy that game is going to be released in 12 days.

Cancelled my CE edition yesterday but will be getting the bog standard.

Apparently the US get a better deal on the CE than UK. I don't support that sort of thing sorry.

I'll not cancel the CE I wait 5 years for this game

and to OP:
You will be a GT enthusiast? lol You are clearly not.

I have bought and played every version of GT to the point of completion, this does also include the systems to play them on almost specifically for the GT games.

What exactly in that statement makes me a NON Enthusiast ?

Just because I dont spend the maximum amount of money on it... OK !!

I'm still getting the CE. My birthday's around the corner, I want something nice for it, and even though I've followed GT for over a decade, I haven't actually gotten into it til about a year or two ago via GT3. I've waited for 5 to be my proper introduction to the series. I don't think the game will live up to the hype, but I don't have many preconceptions, so I won't be disappointed.

I can all but guarantee that we'll see a lot of DLC with the old tracks, at least. With the advent of DLC, developers now have every reason to not ship the game with all of the tracks and cars that they have modeled. They will release a game with enough tracks, but leave out a few favorites, and then 2 weeks later release a $14.99 DLC pack with tracks and cars that should have been included in the first place. People will buy it. I will buy it. I'm a sucker. We are all suckers. But this model has worked in the past and will continue to work. So developers will keep doing it.

And who knows, maybe the tracks that should have been included in the first place will have weather and day/night. I won't hold my breath on that one, either.

Fully agree! I can't wait to receive my Signature Edition, and play GT! I didn't even know what was featured in GT4 and the previous when I bought them , I just wanted to play the game. It's still the same now.

I guess it depends on how you're looking at it. For me, when I buy a collector's edition, I see it as spending the normal $60 on the game, and then an extra $40 or whatever on some other cool stuff. With some games, I even feel like I'm saving money on the game because of the value of the extras. (Including here with GT5, those little model cars can sell for $50 or more a piece!)

That's a very good point, and something I wanted to add into my initial post.. but forgot... lol.

£150 for a signature edition.
£15 ( ish ) for DLC track packs.

Where does it end, Im not into paying in excess of £200 for a game, my ps3 didn't cost an awful lot more than that and I got MGS4 with it.

Everyman has his own choice to buy or not to and I do appreciate that.

GT is awsome, As good as pc sim's... NO WAY

So why should I have to pay and pay and pay for it.

PD - Produce the good's and I will pay... come up with something sub par.. and i'll keep my cash thanks.

I don't think the European CE is worth €20-€30 more..
It's only the Apex book an nothing else.. i don't understand why US CE's always have nice goodies (like the model car), while European CE's are a let down often.

Firstly I dont agree you have been moaning at all.
Its discussion and as sensible adults its actually a good topic.
I know of other forums its impossible to look at GT in a sensible way as thier are people that respond in the exact way has happened here. Some just dont get it at all.

Guys its conversation and debating if SE is indeed worth the money and how those that ordered it already, feel now.

Your uncertainity on the SE already has been followed with the same emotions by some others too. Maybe we all have different things in the game that will appeal to us but in the UK at least the options are:

Standard £38
CE £60
SE £150

Thats quite a jump from CE - SE and I agree only really a few cars extra in games terms. We might not even get a "Gold Crown" beside our online name either (lol).

Not in CE but looking at SE Extras -
Wallet £10
Key Ring £5
Key Fob (with a trailer that will be on youtube within a day) £10
Photo Booklet £10
Model Car £30+ (this might be quite collectable)
Extra Cars Codes £5
AMG Box £10
Competition (which few will enter) £10

My estimations on ebay £90
So really is it overpriced, mmmm

This is my point though..

If you have bought and played all previous GT games.. this is a BIG dissapointment.

Most people that come out with ... DEAL WITH IT.. STOP CRYING ETC ETC... will most likely not be hardcore GT fans.

@Sonic Volcano - Having only 80 posts my guess is this your first / second GT game ?

Honestly I cant see what the fuss is all about. I think GT5 is a big leap from GT4. I would tell you guys to stop crying and deal with it but that would be wasting my time because at the end of the day you would never be happy even if it was light years ahead of GT4.

As for your point I bolded , well I have played every single GT that came to Ireland since GT1 and I played GT4 for four years until I got bored of it. The first day I bought GT4 I stayed up 24 hours playing the game and you are trying to say I am not a hardcore gt fan?

Also I am still buying the collectors edition because I am not disapointed in any aspect of the game. Myself and my brother will spend the weekend after the 24th playing GT5 to death.
