Yes I do. I want that damn Apex book!

I have bought and played every GT game since day 1 and have enjoyed every single one of them, However I am also seeing this argument from a PC SIM MODDING point of view, and I feel I must say I have seen small teams of 10 or so people create additons to sim racing games with much more thought, proffesionlism and quality than Sony & PD have shown with GT5

Honestly I cant see what the fuss is all about. I think GT5 is a big leap from GT4. I would tell you guys to stop crying and deal with it but that would be wasting my time because at the end of the day you would never be happy even if it was light years ahead of GT4.

As for your point I bolded , well I have played every single GT that came to Ireland since GT1 and I played GT4 for four years until I got bored of it. The first day I bought GT4 I stayed up 24 hours playing the game and you are trying to say I am not a hardcore gt fan?

No actually i'm not saying your not a fan, Im saying the MAJORITY ( not all ) of people who understand my point will be people who have played more than one or two GT games.

Simply because they enjoyed the tracks and cars and features in previous titles, and would have liked to see them return for GT5.

As for me never being happy, I will be happy when I see that a game has been produced to the best it can be.. sorry if you dont agree here but GT5 isnt.

EXACTLY...

For all you people that are saying GT is AMAZING and I should shut up.. go play this.. ITS FREE and every bit as polished as any GT game.

Created by people who DO NOT get paid... PD are paid WELL to do this.. so at least do a better job than people who dont get paid.

Good point well **COUGHED** sir

There are a few fantasy tracks missing that I will miss and I hope they are in a DLC but I can deal with the fact that the tracks are not there and I will find other tracks to replace them. Also there are new features in GT5 that havent been in the other GT's and I am looking forward to using them.

Im sorry for not agreeing with you but I honestly cdont understand why some people are disapointed. I myself am very happy with what PD has given us in GT5 and maybe GT6 will be better.

Also I am still buying the collectors edition because I am not disapointed in any aspect of the game. Myself and my brother will spend the weekend after the 24th playing GT5 to death.

Good for you sir , I'm glad you will be happy.

I'm just trying to say i'll a little bit happier than you , because i'm playing the exact same game, and I will have a few more bucks in my wallet than you.👍

Don't be sorry for not agreeing.. I dont want you to agree with me.. unless you feel the same as I do.

You obviously don't, and are 100% happy with what you will purchase...

so it's all good. 👍

I've got to agree with you. Many of the classic GT circuits are missing and we have tracks such as London and Eiger - where it's difficult to pass without smashing into barriers - instead of El Capitan, Apricot Hill and the much touted Hockenheim (what happened to that?). PD and Yamauchi are more concerned with designing a pretty little photo mode and the ridiculous Red Bull X1 dream cars that belong in the sci-fi genre. I thought this was 'the real driving simulator". I think Yamauchi can't see the wood for the trees and has forgotten what the fans really want - more cars (especially iconic cars: F50, E30 M3; and more modern cars: Koenigsegg CCX, Zonda F, Caddy CTS-V, CLS63 AMG etc. and more tracks (both original and world circuits). It appears that they really has missed the target. As for as the PR disaster that was the build up to the release - let's not even get into that.

Not much more though. The collectors edition was only 10 euro more than the standard edition.

After seeing the car and track list I cancelled my $255 Australian signature edition pre-order and ordered the $65 standard edition. Yay for saving money!

i dont want any of the goodies, the book would be cool tho. $20 credit from cod black op , release day delivery , and $10 credit towards future purchase on amazon. so $40 for GT5 not being able to change the wheels on standards is a bet meh, but the other stuff doesn't bother me.

Agree'd, but all i'm saying is i'd rather that £10 was in my wallet.

Had PD deliverd a FULL GT title... I would have been happy to support them and spend the extra to get a SIG Edition.

Who's loosing out, im still getting the same game you are.

You cant say how good or bad its been made yet, now your going waay off your original comments and about the SE. Regardless of the tracks, cars in the game this will be in many ways a "Pinnacle Racing Game" and thats compared to ANY platform. The level of detail for example, the presentation.

GT games have commonly redefined the genre and GT5 is looking no different. Comparing to PC sims is being daft, if you want a really good sim game with 90s graphics then play that and get whatever mods make you happy...

I think its quite clear from what we have seen that as an allround "Package" GT5 is going to be by quite a large margin the most impressive racing game on this "new gen of consoles". The past "FIVE" years that have passed not a single other developer has come close to rival GT5 on a technical, content, gameplay level nor brought so many new features and improvements to the franchise.

Yes its going to have missing tracks, cars and all that but seriously you also have to look at what it DOES INCLUDE not so much as what is missing.
Dont concentrate on negatives my friend.

I dont work for them or anything, but i still dont mind saying that this mod absolutley rocks on the PC. I believe there are still cars and tracks added on a weekly basis?. All for free and all is superb detail. Well you do need GTR2 i believe.

(hoping its ok to post a link of another game here?? If not i apologise and please remove it.

I'm still going to get the CE.

Sorry m8, but your very wrong here.

I can say how good or bad it is, They could have included all the previous tracks, they didnt , to me that's bad.

They could have added standard car wheel changing, they didnt, that's bad.

Agreed it wil lbe a very high standard in a visual aspect.

As for pitting it against PC sims.. why is it wrong... they are both aiming to simulate driving..wright or wrong ??

Sorry if you dont agree here, but most major pc sims LOOSE GT in terms of physics and re-creating the DRIVING experience. And they have a full weather system / day night transitions on all courses... not selected ones.
Ask redbull, what simulator they have and what software it uses.. its a hybrid form of RFACTOR... now ask yourself why ? ) beacuse GT isnt up to it... like it or not.. why would redbull make X1 with Pd... then choose a pc sim to use as a base for crucial testing simulator.

PC sims might look dated compared to GT, for one good reason. millions of people with millions of different specification pc's play these games , and the developers have to take these differences into account.
GT is made with one platform in mind, so they can maximise it, with comfort all who play it will have the same experience.

And as for gt being the BEST all round package.. I would have agreed with you if it had been finsihed to the best it could be.. Sorry again but it hasn't.

And getting to back to my first post, is why i'm not buying a SE now.

so I didnt really get off track at all. 👍

I was going for the SE, but tomorrow I'll change my preorder and pick the CE. Not because of big disappointment, but money reasons :)

This is my point though..

If you have bought and played all previous GT games.. this is a BIG dissapointment.

Most people that come out with ... DEAL WITH IT.. STOP CRYING ETC ETC... will most likely not be hardcore GT fans.

@Sonic Volcano - Having only 80 posts my guess is this your first / second GT game ?

One of your criticisms is the poor track list, but you rather conveniently forgot to mention the track creator, so limitless tracks, your logic on the tracks is flawed.

Lol, real life tracks are pretty important imo, no simple track editor can create such an atmosphere and feeling to a game.

I don't think the European CE is worth €20-€30 more..
It's only the Apex book an nothing else.. i don't understand why US CE's always have nice goodies (like the model car), while European CE's are a let down often.

Wow, I didn't realize they were shafting you guys so badly. Yeah, I wouldn't pay that much extra for just a booklet, either. I would, however, be buying the Signature Edition, were it available here.

I was just considering changing my SE preorder to a collectors edition. I have just checked the Game.co.uk website and they are now selling the SE for £129.99. With my game points that is £119.99 which I think is far more reasonable. Still maybe a tad too much to pay for a game but i'm much happier to pay that money than the full retail of £150.

No it isn't.. Your understanding is flawed.

When you have the game, you try and re-create RED ROCK VALLEY / MIDFIELD for me.. if you can do that , I will make a very public apology. And i'll even send you some money so you can have a beer on me.

Those are just 2 of the tracks I am reffering to.

Canceled my CE pre-order and got standard instead with the prima track guide, only $7. I wanted that apex book but with all the back and forth on the release info and lack of a few key wants I'm going to save my cash. The game will be great though, I loved the TT demo.

I hope GT6 on the PS4 can bring some more new cars and real world tracks to the game. As well as complete some of the areas GT5 started. As others have said, it feels like it fell short because they wanted to do too much. Some LeMans stuff but not enough to fill out a 16 car grid. Nascar same deal. Vintage racers, again, same thing. I'd prefer to have say 16 premium vintage racers and no Nascar or LeMans or take your pick than a little of everything but not enough of it. Some will disagree and that is cool, like I said, it will be fun regardless.

Firstly I dont agree you have been moaning at all.
Its discussion and as sensible adults its actually a good topic.
I know of other forums its impossible to look at GT in a sensible way as thier are people that respond in the exact way has happened here. Some just dont get it at all.

Guys its conversation and debating if SE is indeed worth the money and how those that ordered it already, feel now.

Your uncertainity on the SE already has been followed with the same emotions by some others too. Maybe we all have different things in the game that will appeal to us but in the UK at least the options are:

Standard £38
CE £60
SE £150

Thats quite a jump from CE - SE and I agree only really a few cars extra in games terms. We might not even get a "Gold Crown" beside our online name either (lol).

Not in CE but looking at SE Extras -
Wallet £10 Costs Sony £2
Key Ring £5 Costs sony £1
Key Fob (with a trailer that will be on youtube within a day) £10 worthless
Photo Booklet £10 Costs Sony £3
Model Car £30+ (this might be quite collectable) This for me is the biggest rip off. Cost to sony £10
Extra Cars Codes £5 Worthless
AMG Box £10 Cost to sony £2
Competition (which few will enter) £10 Agree with price but the cost to sony is zilch as I reckon its gift car from AMG

My estimations on ebay £90
So really is it overpriced, mmmm

Real price £38. you've priced some things that aren't really worth anything.

For me I can't justify $300 Aud for the Sig edition. Especially when I can get a 1/18th SLS AMG for $90 Aud on ebay.

I'll still buy this game because the lists don't upset me that much. Quite some variation in cars, but of course that probably gets lost on alot of member because there is 200 Hondas and Nissans

I am to say the least very dissapointed to see the pathetic track list that has been released with this game, some of you will argue it's not pathietic, those of you that are old school GT fans will get my point.

One of your criticisms is the poor track list, but you rather conveniently forgot to mention the track creator, so limitless tracks, your logic on the tracks is flawed.

Ok, whatever, thing is, with GT5 you will never get bored of driving the same old tracks, never.

And you haven't even seen what the track editor can create, so I sujest you hold your fire until you see it in all its heavenly glory. :)

As far as the question on if the SE is worth it, no I don't think it is, but I didn't need a track list to figure that one out, you don't get extra tracks with the SE so there is no arguement.

If you want the extra stuff that comes with the SE then it's worth it, if you don't then it isn't, has nothing to do with whats in the game.

I couldn't agree with you more... really I couldn't

Thats why I am shocked they have left so many out.

As for the track editor, yes I have seen what it can create, and it's not as good as your possibly thinking it is.

The tracke ditor has been shown back in October. It was nothing special. I could design more in Re-Volt than in GT5.. yes, it's nice it is in-game. But you can't substitute it with real tracks.
