Do you race the easier way and use F1's wherever possible ?

  • Nope, I still want to compete with 'regular' cars

Should they've been left out ? Maybe seperate races ?
Using F1's does make racing quite easier...so do you take the easier way or harder way by using simular cars the computer races with ? Just curious...

I feel F1's are not quite well placed in GT3...Like in GT2 everone wanted the 'scudo now everyone needs to have an F1...
If they want to keep F1's in GT3 they (IMHO) need to seperate F1's from 'regular' cars...kind of 'SuperLeage'...Well that's my humble opinion.Keep GT for what it stands for.

It most certainly did. I feel kinda bad, I wasn't even done with the beginners league when I decided to try an endurance race. I won the Super Speed Way and was given an F090/s my first try. I then began to crush the races every place I could. It really took atot of the challange out of the game.

Later on, I decided to boicot the F-1 for most of the races just because I wanted my moneys worth, but I was 75% into the game at that point.

BTW, I didn't vote because I really don't fit into the two catigories that are listed. :)

i think its great that they included the F1's, because you have to have a vehicle that you need to have, like the escudo in gt2, but yeh i think people who just want to say look i have completed gt3 use the f1, but people who want the challenge will leave the F1 for just seeing what it can do IMO.

i wonder if Polyphony were just trying their hand at F1 and it will be interesting if we suddenly get a F1 game, it sure would be better than any other F1 game out there all bar the Grand Prix series on the PC again IMO.

so there, i like them but only use them for a bit of fun, just a shame we over here in poor old blighty only got 2 sodding cars, not that i am bitter.....

I like the F-1's, however, they do have one nagging problem. In auto trany mode, if you slow down to much for a corner, the car will downshift into first, spin the tires (cuz' of the torque) and cause you to possibly spin out (at worst) or lose traction (at best). The F-1's are great to race with, good traction (most of the time), incredable acceleration. Unfair? You bet. Wasn't that the whole point? The whole time I played GT 2 I was wishing for a Formula One game with the handling and graphics of GT 2 (or 3 when it came out). This is the next best thing.

I used the F1 cars for arcade mode, but not for GT mode (much). I have one in every colour they come in! I left the TCS on my blue/blue 001 and use that for racing. The problem is, they handle too well! I find myself over-correcting on simple corners and sliding about. IMHO, the Sprinter Trueno is better (not 'cos it's fast or cool, but because you gotta love that power oversteer)!:D

if they do include em in GT4...they should be in a league of their own...

The Toyota GT1 Race car is closer to the F1's than the 787b.

Frankly, I love em.

There is no other car you can drive as fast, with as much grip and flat speed, that corners so well and is as much fun to drive.

Okay, if you use F1 cars in normal races it blitzes the competition, but they are such a barrel of laughs that I tend to drive them whenever I can.

Also, long boring races such as super speedway endurance or test course (any number of laps) are easily disposed of in the Polyphony (PAL version).

I'd have to say that since getting my Polyphony 001 (i've got the PAL release!) I have used it to trounce the opposition in quite a few races (mainly enduro as I don't want to be driving for any longer then I have to 2hrs 25 mins for the Tokyo was plenty enough!) I also used it in the Arcade mode hoping for a challenge as the computer is meant to pick cars that will challenge u, but what do I get? At best a bunch of the finest S class cars (787B, R390, GT1 Race car, GTR 1 etc.)

I have a massive garage of diverse cars (a mini for christ sake!) and still like pulling out the FTO race car and the Calsonic, specially for p***ing around on SS5 Wet:)

Right on..I personally wish that the F1 challenges could have been a bit more intense.

My thoughts exactly! I wish those damn F1's could be removed from GT for ever........:Poke: :ghost:

I hear all the time people saying "If you don't like F1's don't use em" But its one of those things....like a carrot and a donkey!! :D

Well you have to use the F1 polyphoone 001 in the last race of Pro cos thats for F1 only, and its difficult. I have just got my S licence. Man its hard. I have the pal version, but I hear there are diffrent f1 cars out there. Is that true? Cos I have three polyphonne 001's now, and I don't know if there is a better car out there? Personally I use a ZZII with full tunning, a great little car. In the same class as my fully tunned R390 Race car and GT-One. All great for the long endurence races.

Yeah - I'm in the same boat.

I have used the F1 cars to get through the game as quickly as possible, but got burnt out after completing the Formula GT series (at about 93% or so).

I made a copy of my save file and now have a second game where I've been 'rediscovering' GT3 to an extent, driving all of the regular cars - the GTP series has helped a lot with this. I've been doing the 'speedway enduro' cheat to generate cash to buy cars that are interesting to drive.

So - I guess I did use the F1 cars to get through the game quickly, but am now driving the regular cars. You need to in order to get through the one-make series anyway.

EH?

You been on the mind-altering substances modik? The 787B is a great car to drive, has too much grip and acceleration. A great car for the enduros because it's so consistent on its tyres. Fantastic braking performance - I was taking 2.5 seconds off the other cars in the first sector alone in the R246 enduro.

Each to their own, obviously, but I think you're a little off beam on this one mate. ;)

The F1 cars mmm.. Before I got my first F1 car from the Super Speed way track (I kind of cheat it cause it was my first endurance race and I used the fastest car that I had the Suzuki Pikes Peak it took me about about an hour if I remmember correctly to finnish the race) well anyways before I had my first F1 car I really didnt notice them as much are regular cars, this was because they were ugly cars and during those times I didnt really see the important of their use... After I won my first F1 car and raced it, my view had totaly changed, therefore I starting thinking that these cars drive like angels 11+ thousand rpm and 700+ horse power I was almost driven to insanity..... But now I know the importance of the F1 racers, and now my dream is to get; the (I forgot the name)F1 that has 14+thousand rpm and 800+ horse power and I want to drive this beautifull machine and beat everyone in GT3...........
THanks for reading
and my F1 has the most miles in GT3

Well before I got my F1 car, I was driving in a Evo VI. That was fun, but after the F1 I was crashing through the beginner and amatur leagues. But the thing is, the tired wear out after about 7 laps. So I concentrated on getting the GT-One and the R390. Both of which I have now. And I've been racing with them ever since. I'm about 60% through the game. And its really enjoyable with the GT cars. Also a cool car with lots of grip and good handling is the ZZII with every tunning possible. Handles great for a small car, and its 4WD.

I know what your saying about the tire grip and handling of the cars but for me is the opposite than you I dont know why but when I drive the F1 I have it grips and it handels like a dream the only thing F1 are not good in is in the Test course because the other cars will pass it...
Thanks bye

After getting my first F1 car I used it to win many of the races in amatur and pro. But because of the tire wear issue I tend to use my Nissan R390 or my ZZII or the GT-One, all are great. And since there are certain races which F1 cannot take apart in. I use my F1 as little as I can. But the F1 championship requires me to drive the F1 car!!!
