For Chrysler? The eight-speed box is a ZF unit that is used only in the LX body cars. As far as I can tell, the nine-speed box they had for the Dart is going to be added later, and will only be available with certain engines.

...For that matter, what's the deal with GM's seven and eight-speed boxes? Haven't heard much about those lately, either...

Could this be the first step's toward's an SRT Dart? I don't think it would look much different. I know this is a MOPAR option list product but I've been reading alot of hint's of the SRT-4 including spy shot's.

Could be. Nice looking car, but I priced out an R/T online and they start around $24k USD. An SRT version could get close to Subaru STi territory.

Agreed, I was more concerned with the SRT-4 styled scoop and thank you Roc didn't see that.

Dodge Dart was intended to be a family car that could compete with the Corolla and Civic and other popular Japanese standard family cars. They are trying to give people a reason for people to come into a Dodge dealership and actually buy a car, not a pick-up truck :P

Well, if it's anything like the original SRT4...then very much so. I want to say the original SRT4 ran in the ST class in Grand-Am. I wonder if the SRT4 Dart will return to Grand Am. Dodge said they're gonna be announcing their plans for 2013 motorsports in the coming months, so...We'll see.

Not if it's FF, the only time Dodge got close to the 4cyl sport cars was with the Caliber SRT-4. I had a Neon SRT-4 and though it was quick, it wasn't STi quick.

Not true.

The Dart is older than the Corolla by about half a decade and the Civic by nearly 15 years.

It is incomparable to Japanese cars of the time and wasn't even competing on the same market. Japanese imports into America didn't really kick off until the early 70's.

I think he meant te current Dart.

I was hoping for a better look to this Dart from the teaser pictures, the front end reminds me of the Cougar. It just doesn't flow for me.

umm.. the only thing that could be simular is the headlights... which is better designed on the Dart...

As soon as I saw 600 horsepower Dart after SVX posted it on my facebook wall I was like . For the first time (since the intro of the new Dart) I am excited!

Every time I see a car from the late 90s, early 00s, I wonder how the hell anyone bought one. They're SO UGLY.

The Dart would be good if it wasn't called Dart. Dodge calling that the Dart is like Ford naming the Focus the Torino, or Chevy naming the Volt the Chevelle. It's just not right.

The wireless charger sounds like a nice feature. Can anyone comment on the charging rate of things like the Powermat?

Been over this. Read the first 3 pages of the thread.

I'm going to assume the main functionality of the charge mat is to keep the the battery from draining while it's connected to the infotainment system.

Just saw on the drive network on Shakedown that there are rumors of an AWD dodge dart, that would be pretty sweet, either way i like this car. American cars are really starting to improve lately, id definitely take this over a civic or something

The front looks a little goofy yet , all the new Dodge's really havn't appealed to me latley style wise not as much as the Chryslers like the 200 which is basiscally what the Dart is and the amazing job they'ev done with the 300.

The 3rd generation Dart was a compact car.

Umm... The Dart has Nothing comparable to the 200... (200=Midsize, Dart=Compact)
