So we can expect Naka any day now, right?
I expected Samoa Joe to lose that one. He seemed all but primed for a main roster debut. Now I dunno what to think. Nakamura seemed to be getting groomed as their next Finn Balor but after that title loss, I'm not sure about that.

I thought Joe would lose, then debut during Survivor Series, costing Lesnar the match, or the night after on Raw where he'd likely confront Heyman or Brock. Setting up a match at Mania that Lesnar would surely have to lose.

But I guess Nakamura is also able to be inserted into that situation, with little change to the storyline.

I think, despite the above, Nakamura will win back the title at January's Takeover event and that will be the time where Joe gets sent up to the main roster, to begin a build to Lesnar.

The tag team title match was probably the tag match i have ever seen, great storytelling, superb chemistry between the two teams with a great finish, just fantastic, what a match!

the Roode/Dillinger match was a good opener and Roode's entrance was great, the Dusty Rhodes final meh and i couldn't get my head around the fact that Ellering was in a cage above the ring (since when did NXT become TNA?!), womens title match was good but nothing special, looks like it won't be a one-off match between Mickie and Asuka.

As for the main event, it was a great match, not quite as good as Brooklyn, that finish??, yeah i still don't know what to make of it, the crowd were stunned, will be very interesting to see what happens from here....

Apologises for the double post but here is the Survivor Series card for tonight

Kick Off Show

---------------------------------

Cruiserweight Championship

Brian Kendrick (c) v Kalisto
(If Kalisto wins Smackdown gets the cruiserweight division)

10-10 Elimination Match-Tag Teams, Raw v Smackdown
The New Day (capt), Enzo & Cass, Gallows & Anderson, Cesaro & Sheamus and the Shining Stars
v
Heath Slater & Rhyno (capt), American Alpha, The Usos, The Hype Bros and Breezango

5-5 Elimination Match-Women's, Raw v Smackdown
Charlotte (capt), Sasha Banks, Nia Jax, Bayley and Alicia Fox
v
Nikki Bella (capt), Becky Lynch, Carmella, Alexa Bliss and Naomi

Intercontinental Championship
The Miz (c) v Sami Zayn

5-5 Elimination Match-Men's singles, Raw v Smackdown
Kevin Owens (capt), Chris Jericho (capt), Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman
v
AJ Styles (capt), Dean Ambrose, Bray Wyatt, Randy Orton and Shane McMahon

Brock Lesnar v Goldberg

And that's it, its a four hour show and they still need to fill it so some of the matches will probably be 30 minutes or more, there will probably be a pre-show even though there isn't one advertised yet, Lesnar v Goldberg will likely be the main event.

Gotta be f:censored:king kidding me. Are you serious WWE?!

And I thought it was gotta be the total opposite of this s:censored:t.

All of that "Build up"............ AND WE GET THIS 🤬. 🤬 BRILLIANT CREATIVE WORK VINCE :banghead:

All the hype for nothing. :grumpy:

That was pure brilliance by WWE. No one in their right mind expected that. I'm satisfied by that ending. And now people can't bitch about WWE burying WCW talent.

I completely disagree here. Not only was the one of the most "Shyamalan-ian" twists for the match, it doesn't hurt either man in the long run. I get (and completely understand) the build up leading to a squash match being the equivalent to someone spitting in your face, but how many times has a boxing or MMA match been built up only for it to last several seconds? The only difference is that's real fighting.

Brock has essentially been the top heel (who wasn't received as heel at all until Goldberg came along) for the past two years and hasn't been knocked off of that perch, and guess what – he still hasn't been knocked off of that perch. There are a number of ways to sell this now, and the easiest one is Brock was way overconfident.

Would I have wanted the match to last longer? Yes, absolutely. Was I happy with the way it ended expecting it to be anything but that? Yes, absolutely. There are now three times WWE has genuinely surprised me since I started watching again: When Brock ended Taker's streak, when Brock squashed Cena for the title, and now this.

Notice how all three of those instances involve Lesnar?

Here's another thing to consider, Lesnar could very likely be on the brink of being busted for his use of PEDs in the build up for UFC 200, being fined a crap load of money and potentially banned/suspended from MMA. This is likely the WWE's way of punishing him for what is going to be a PR disaster for them if he does indeed get busted for PED use.

Only thing I can say about Lesnar V Goldberg:
HAHAHAHA I knew it! When I saw the match and Goldberg won. I laughed so hard that it made me lose my voice. And what a great way to make "smarks" cry because they thought that Lesnar is going to beat Goldberg but nope. And also what a great way to end WWE's predictable ending streak.

But still....HAHAHAHAHA.

So to all those who thinks Lesnar will win. Here's a vid.

Well, if that is true and related to the way all this happened, then I guess what happened before our eyes had a reason. Can't say it's an honorable reason, but sometimes life has a way to kick WWE Superstars in the nuts...

As for the PPV;
No one else here was concerned by Shane damm near being killed by Reigns's Spear? I mean I know Shane did very little other than bumping and doing his special brand silly punches, but he didn't deserve being concussed for that... Guy got killed enough times in his life already, honestly.

Everything else was mundane, but one thing is hilarious; RAW can't win the big Elimination match with a team that worked together somewhat well, but two teams that barely like each other (Bayley/Charlotte and Cesaro/Sheamus) can do that just fine? Poor Steph, so much for her All Stars team.

Oh, and three more things; RIP James Ellsworth and Jericho's List, Canadian crowds please stop chanting "Ten", and if Lesnar/Goldberg was supposed to pay hommage to WWE 2K17, then it's unrealistic. I didn't see Lesnar kick out of 15 Jackhammers and 10 Spears, so there! :p:lol:

So i have watched it up to the final two matches, enjoyed it for the most part, thought the women's and tag elimination matches were really good (Tag match was awesome and it surprised the hell out of me!), IC title match was good right up until the finish (a Screwjob finish?! Seriously?!) Cruiserweight match was good but a predictable finish, you just knew Corbin was going to interfere.

So like i said I am up to the singles elimination match and Lesnar v Goldberg....and from you guys reaction the latter wasn't good....

Canada won't stop chanting TEN until
the Perfect Ten gets called up

Also, Roode's entrance was...so sorry for this...GLORIOUS.

Have now see the rest of the show, the Men's singles elimination was entertaining, messy, chaotic and way too long, credit goes to Shane for taking those bumps but everyone played their part in that match, was surprised to see Owens and Jericho out early, RIP James Ellsworth!

As for Lesnar/Goldberg, umm.........yeah, really don;t know what to say!

Eh, if you knowingly take performance enhancing drugs to gain an advantage in sports, you deserve to be embarrassed in that way. You shouldn't even be allowed to compete ever again.

Plus, it's all about the money for Lesnar, so I highly doubt he gives two 🤬 about the loss. For all we know, he probably got $2 million just for that 2 minute match.

This is also a great ploy to boost ratings, as news of Lesnar's loss has hit mainstream sporting media here in Australia, something that hasn't happened for the WWE in years. It makes Raw an absolute must watch in just over half an hour.

Right a few things i learned from the news sites tonight, everyone was happy for match to be like it was, including Lesnar, It was meant to be a 'one-shot' deal but chances are it won't be anymore and its highly likely that they will meet again, Goldberg will be in the Royal Rumble match and he IS scheduled to be on Raw tonight, however they are billing it as a 'farewell address', no word on whether he has signed a proper contract with them, most probably on a Legends deal right now, Goldberg's injury was a factor in why it was a short match, it was 1 minute 25 seconds from bell-to-bell.

A few other things, won't surprise you to know that Shane was legit injured last night and picked up a concussion, he is said to be feeling fine right now and didn't need a hospital visit, Reigns was also shaken up from that move as it looked like they clashed heads, you might have spotted Orton chatting very briefly to a young fan during the bit where Shane was being helped out, the youngster in question was Shane's son and apparently Randy was reassuring hime that his dad was OK, which was great of Randy, he didn't have to do that 👍

Well, Goldberg is the first official entrant into the 2017 Royal Rumble as he looks to have one last title reign before he calls it quits. What is to not, is that towards the end of his speech, a few audience members decided to chant "You screwed Bret" to Goldberg, referencing that infamous WCW incident where a superkick went a stray.

New Day is making a lot of fuss about the Demolition record rght now. They are definitely dropping the belts to Sheamus and Cesaro. Also, few people chanting "Who" when they mentioned Demolition.

Did the New Day just turn heel? That was a very heelish move to retain the titles.

I think it's a given that Triple H interferes in this main event as it's No DQ and Reigns and Jericho are banned from ringside.

Or not. Jericho interferes in the crowd wearing a mask. That fell a bit flat. Good match. But flat ending

I tried watching RAW. I wanted to. I stopped when I realized I was actually digging my own finger into my temple. I lasted half a match.

If this is WWE, how bad is TNA, really? This WWE may as well be dead to me, and that's all I'll say because like Jericho I have a list, but unlike Jericho's mine has a number of complaints as well as people.

Well that may be RAW's problem moreso than the WWE's, to be honest. If I may say, RAW defintely needs more wrestlers to spruce up its roster. New Day basically has next to no fresh rivals on the tag division, Roman Reigns is the most hated US champion in WWE history and yet the top brass desperately tries to push him as a babyface (I can see that making your complaints list, yes), and while the top end of the roster is not untalented, it needs new faces ASAP.

Smackdown doesn't have these issues, because its roster covers up most of the different divisions nicely. And that's where NXT comes in, I guess. Draft the Revival, Shinsuke Nakamura and Tye Diliinger (the former only because it'll stop crowds from chanting "ten" every five minutes) to RAW and you'd at least freshen things up...

TNA won't be much better, because the only things keeping it alive are the whole "Broken Hardys" shtick and the ex-WWE talent that seeps through the cracks (which includes the Hardys, wouldn't you know). Just like in its old days...

Honestly, after seeing Lesnar vs Orton and every other Lesnar match, I knew Goldberg vs Lesnar would be a sprint match that wasn't anything special, though I was surprised it was in favour of Goldberg and not Lesnar. This match was never going to be 30 minute epic bout and honestly that would just be worse since we all know Goldberg is a very stiff wrestler. I hope he doesn't stay too long in the Royal Rumble. It was a good booking move by WWE but don't care for the match, doesn't have any consequences or story defining moments.

In my opinion this was the best Raw in awhile, granted the title matches could've been better and New Day has been getting Stale but I think they set up very nicely for what was to come, though they need new people up the top.

As for the IC Championship and Cruiserweight Championships, let me just say thank 🤬 christ, none of them swapped brands That would just be disastrous for every midcard Smackdown wrestler, either getting less TV Time for Cruiserweights or no title to fight for, I'm so glad none of these things happened,

Another good Raw i thought, i also think New Day are stale and the titles need to change hands, question is will they get the record or won't they?, they are 23 days off...

The amount of internet heat from the "IWC" or "smarks" that I've seen lately after Goldberg beat Lesnar is like what happened when The Rock beat CM Punk for the WWE title back in Royal Rumble 2013.

The problem is that these "smarks" are expecting that Lesnar was supposed to beat Goldberg but nope. WWE basically swerved us and that's a good thing because that's puts an end on WWE's predictable ending streak.

I actually enjoyed the Goldberg/Lesnar match. They gave us a best case scenario, because let's face it, Goldberg would not be able to match Lesnar otherwise. No one really wanted to watch a 15 minute potato fest. We also wanted Lesnar's reign to end. I am interested now in seeing what happens at the Royal Rumble and what happens to Lesnar, both of which I haven't felt in years. WWE are making the Brand Split work for these big 4 events, which is what they needed. Hopefully they feed Goldberg to someone sticking around the roster full time once they build him up more.

IMO, the only person who should've beaten Lesnar would've been Joe. Drop him with a Muscle Buster then choke his a$$ out. I like the fact that the Lesnar/Goldberg match had the nod to the Goldberg squash matches of old, but it did feel like a massive anti-climax.

Also, why the hell was Bill's kid topless? Just seemed a bit weird.

I have a feeling that all of these events are leading up to Goldberg's induction to the Hall of Fame.

I also noticed that when people complain about Vince burying WCW stars but Goldberg's case, they don't complain. This is why hate the IWC or "smarks".

Bro, you're on the internet talking about wrestling. Welcome to the IWC.

Not to be a douche or anything but I hate people using IWC as a negative term. Surely with things like the WWE Network and New Japan World, everyone is a member of the IWC, no?

Oh is that so? :confused::lol:

Good thing you clarified the definition of IWC. I thought its a way of dividing wrestling fans. Actually when I hear the word IWC, to me it refers to those will do everything just to get the wrestling results that they wanted (e.g Lesnar beating Goldberg etc.).

People like to associate IWC with the know-it-all smarks but the fact it IWC is just the Internet Wrestling Community, we are all apart of the IWC :p
