Big Raw tonight with Goldberg on, hope he gets to spear someone and not just talk in the ring.

Also the Paige situation has taken another twist after she proposed to Del Rio/Patron in-ring at an event last night and now they are engaged.

Honestly, I don't really care about this whole Lesnar/Goldberg stick. I don't know why but people who are mainly known for just besting people up and acting "like a bad:censored:" don't appeal to me in the slightest, put 2 of them in the match and well, I can't get into the feud in anyway that isn't Paul Heyman related.

They are only doing it really for cross-promotion for WWE 2K17, I think anyway....

So Goldberg, it was the main event of last night, he got an amazing reception from the fans and he got a little emotional like Shane did earlier in the year, didn't really say a lot but basically accepted Brock's challenge, he had his wife and his son in the front row so the whole thing was pretty cool.

There was very little of note from Raw apart from that, Tag Team Title match added to HIAC.

Want to talk about AJ Styles for a bit, he is an immense performer who has traveled the World, won everything going, and faced some of the best Wrestlers in the World, but tonight he has the most difficult match of his career when he puts his title on the line against the incredible.......James Ellsworth!!

James Ellsworth, truly the fastest rising Superstar in WWE history. He got a title shot way before Dolph Ziggler did (and Ziggler had to use a briefcase!), didn't have a Shield to help him (just a small part of it)... Truly a modern day lone wolf, Baron Corbin needs to take some lessons from Mr. James.

Tonight is the first WWE Championship match not to feature one of the members of the SHEILD in over two years!

Happy for James, gets to be on \Smackdown main event and earns a bit of money for himself too, will probably tread on Twitter as well good for him 👍

As long as Ellsworth remembers how to take the Styles Clash this week, I'm fine.

I was indifferent to the whole Ellsworth situation to begin with but now after SD, I think its brilliant.

This is what WWE needed to give AJ heel heat, get a guy more likeable than AJ and let AJ be a 🤬, AJ really stood out as a heel tonight. Dean also capitalize on it, to get some of the crowd on his side by supporting Ellsworth.

Fantastic Smackdown :)

About Goldberg: I really wished that they have saved this for WrestleMania. Goldberg is 1-0 at that event, and I wish that he would continue his undefeated run at the event.

To be honest. Survivor Series needs a match like this. Wrestlemania doesn't need this match and judging by the hype that this match is getting, this match doesn't need Wrestlemania.

Survivor Series has been overshadowed by a lot of B PPVs in recent years, especially Money in the Bank, having a match this (as well as it being a joint-brand PPV) can once again elevate it.

Also, they shouldn't really do a another Wrestlemania streak this early, it's only been 2 years without a streak, Wrestlemania can do 10 or 11.

It's for Survivor Series? I thought it was for Hell in the Cell or another RAW only PPV.

A date actually hasn't been confirmed, though not only DO I think Survivor Series should be the choice, it's the most likely one since it's too late for Hell in a Cell and Survivor Series needs more than 20 Wrestlers in Tag Team matches.

At this time of year they do start to make plans for the following years Wrestlemania.

Very average Raw last night, worst thing for me was the Lesnar thing, they tried to get some heat from the crowd by getting them to chant 'Goldberg' and then getting mad about it, problem was this was Lesnar's home town Minneapolis, so they were chanting 'Suplex City a lot more than 'Goldberg', they then pretended to be appalled by it and just left the ring, it was terrible.

Triple threat main event was pretty good, another match added for HIAC on Sunday, and that's about it....

Styles v Ambrose on SD tonight, non-title match.

I'm concerned for the Women's Hell in a Cell. Mainly because I'm not sure WWE will let them use any weapons at all and probably won't even use the Cell as much as usual, especially by PG standards.

That match will definitely be less weapons-filled than the other two, i had to laugh during the contract signing bit of Raw when Foley gave that speech on how brutal and career-threatening a HIAC match is when its now nothing like what it was back in the Attitude era.

The most awkward part of raw was planning that promo in his home town. Ending with Goldberg Sucks chants. I remember watching a smack down episode with Barrett pretaped in the UK and you could see the crowd cheering and clapping as he comes out but yet they edited boos in.

I laughed when he tried to shoehorn Eddie Guerrero into the conversation: I own his action figure from 2001 in y loft somewhere - I guess I too am carrying on his legacy.

There in a Nine Legends expansion pack trailer out. Doesn't look like too much to be excited about, it seems to be just an audio commentary track despite the oooo la la trailer

Fastlane is confirmed to return without having a brand recognition nor a different PPV to join Fastlane in the Feb - early March slot.

This makes me think that the brand split is only temporary for a short time and perhaps after the Royal Rumble, the Brand Split is removed once again.

That means pretty much nothing about the Brand Split being removed. Just means they haven't announced another PPV for then. You'll probably see that Roadblock will pop up again, this time as a proper PPV. Or, they'll just do the obvious and make Fastlane a multibrand PPV, which is probably the best idea.

I highly doubt they'll get rid of the brand split so soon. Makes no sense to do that .

Roadblock is a December PPV for Raw.

The whole brand split is because of the feud with Shane and Stephanie, it could likely implode with 1 victor after the Royal Rumble.

Missed that news. Would of made sense to have it on the Road to Wrestlemania given WWE's obsession with car and road related names for the RTW PPV's.

Asides from the upcoming Survivor Series bouts, there hasn't been much of a build, if any, to the eventual implosion. The seeds should already have been sewed for it to happen at the Rumble if they were planning to ditch the Brand Split.

Who knows what WWE is doing with it, it's been a bit of a hit and miss at times, but my read is that fans are pretty happy with things. Surely they won't end it so soon.

Good card, cant watch tonight because of work but will watch tomorrow afternoon.

For the Women's match, it started off awful but ended fantastic, IMO.

I know this isn't the era of ultra violence or the ratings for extreme stunts but if you are limited to your violence DON'T DO A WEAKER PG VERSION OF THE UNDERTAKER VS MANKIND BEGINNING!!!

Thankfully, the rest of the match was so much better. The women were actually allowed to do what the guys did before them, which was fantastic to see. Granted, the tables for some reason didn't want to work (it was kinda hilarious seeing them land on the tables).

I was fine with Charlotte winning because if she'd lost, there would be nothing for her to do and this gave her massive heel heat, she is a really credible heel, when you get IWC to hate you when your heel, you're doing a fantastic job.

I'd give it a 8.5/10

For the rest of the show, outside of the other 2 HIAC, the matches weren't that interesting, the Cruiserweights need more story then just Brian Kendrick being old and desperate with Video Game references. Tag Team match was great but the ending was 🤬, Bailey and Dana Brooke did fine with what they could do and I still hate Enzo Amore promos, for the love of god stop talking repetitively and get on with the show, thank god he pretty much got jobbed.

For the entire show 7/10, wasn't bad but wasn't great either.

EDIT: Judging by the PPV promo in the event, Elimination Chamber will be coming back with Fastlane for the Feb - early March slot which ended the worry of brand split already ending (and this is a good thing because I love Elimination Chamber).

I don't know about the Women's HIAC; on one hand, they did have unique ways of using the cell walls without just resorting to Irish whips and didn't just stick with using chairs as their "hardcore spots". But the table spots, both of them, really failed to gather proper heat, they just fell flat. To be fair, the match could've had far more impact in the PPV than what it had. Those are my five-cent, non-major-spoiling cents on the matter. Still, it's commendable that a women's match was allowed inside a Hell In A Cell. Five years ago, we'd probably laugh at that notion...

Ah, and speaking of falling flat, the undercard was just that. Roman vs Rusev was a PG-era HIAC match, and I don't mean that as a compliment. At least Sasha and Charlotte tried to do something, the big boys just mailed it in. The non-title matches were nothing matches at best, the Tag Title and Cruiserweight matches didn't really bring much in terms of storyline, leaving Owens vs Rollins as the other good match on the card. And I dare say, the best one. Why? It just felt better put together in terms of spots, I think so at least.

Good show i thought, all three Cell matches were good with Rollins/Owens easily match of the night, the first part of the Sasha/Charlotte match was superb, that announce table spot and the subsquent Charlotte beating on Sasha was really well done, but then sadly it started to fall apart after the first table spot when it didn't break after Charlotte fell gently on it, the finish was a let down too, which was a real shame in Sasha's hometown and in such a historic match.

I felt that the Owens/Rollins match had more actual wrestling in it than the other Cell matches which is what made it great, Cruiserweight match was good with some proper heel stuff form Kendrick who i am delighted for, Tag Match was good but had a rubbish finish, the other two matches were just Raw stuff on a Sunday night.

Good Raw last night i thought, with a good main event and Goldberg spearing Heyman!

WWE are now surging forward to Survivor Series which is only three weeks away, we know most of the Raw teams which will take on Smackdown in the three matches and their captains, there will be an edition of Miz TV on SD live tonight in which Daniel Bryan reveals the Smackdown teams.

I hope some titles will actually be defended on the PPV. I understand that this is Raws best vs. Smackdown best but, they still need to have some title matches.

Hopefully Nikki Bella being captain means Becky Lynch will defend her title.

Well Kevin Owens is on the Raw singles team, meaning the one of the major titles won't be defended on one of the major PPV's!, unless he has double duty and has two matches...
