Taker's ring gear is still there during the final stages of packing up...

My first post in this thread here, but damn. Even I am still somewhat shook that Undertaker retired. Like with some other members here, he also was a part of my childhood. I've always watched SmackDown when I was younger and I instantly noticed him. Even at that age I really liked his "dark" and evil image, I found it really, well, cool at that time (7 yrs old). By 2008 or so I kinda got away from WWE, but I found interest again last year.

I really did enjoy Wrestlemania 33.

Had a few bumps. IMO the Orton vs. Bray Wyatt match ended way sooner than expected, I actually like the creepy themes on the mat, however my problem was when it started getting really good it ended. Maryse literally did nothing in her return match, and yeah Reigns beating the Undertaker without turning heel.

I must say, Undertaker vs. Roman was just depressing as all hell, Undertaker didn't look the dead man or anything like he usually does, he looked like an old man trying to fight with his age while a man was constantly beating him up.

Undertaker was a man who has competed in 5 different eras (Golden era, Attitude era, Ruthless Aggression, "PG" era and New era), seeing a man with legacy that much that is unheard of have to do the inevitable really hurts. Even worse when you see Michelle McCool in the audience near the announcers.

At the very least, I managed to see The Undertaker live (Backlash 2008). Definitely an "only in pro wrestling" experience.

I guess there's no point hiding the results of the last match, is there? I understand it's an historic moment, but it's all for the wrong reasons for me. A-Train and Travis Tomko couldn't beat Undertaker. Ric Flair and his son couldn't beat Undertaker. Triple H had a giant cell, about 20 chairshots and even his best friend as weapons at one point, and he couldn't beat the Undertaker.

And after all that, the one man who will be recognized as the guy who properly retired the Undertaker is the guy forced down the fans' throats, Mr. "Belie Dat", Mr. "Booed Every 10 seconds"? I know Roman is talented, I am not denying that by any means. But he's the wrong guy to end this.
So what I'll do is ignore this so-called main event, end my Wrestlemania watching after the RAW Women's Title match (and after watching the first few matches because I wound up skipping to the RAW Tag Title match, haha), and pretend 'Taker's career ended after Brock beat him due to some career-ending injury. It'll be less painful for me that way...

As for the show running too long, perhaps it's due to the fact the event was so top-heavy. And yet most of the top-of-the-card matches were somewhat lackluster, which doesn't help matters. Too many forgone conclusions, not enough good stuff before said conclusions...

One thing that really baffles me about WM33 is the lack of Finn Bailor or Samoa Joe making an appearance.

I honestly cannot blame Reigns for this, i blame Vince Mcmahon and the pathetic creative team that this company has.

Same here, I think if they had come to their senses and made Reigns a heel along with giving the match more than a month to build an actual storyline it could have been a far better match even with the outcome being the same.

Ah dry them tears. This mean mark mccool taker hasn't retired, I have a good feeling this is leading up to some where it will be his actual final match. Goldberg or cena I see something happening.

Seen the show, it was a tough watch at the end, we all knew this could have been his last match as he needs a hip replacement, we all knew it couldn't last forever, but...I wasn't ready for it, and from the reaction from the crowd they weren't ready for it either, I don't think this was the right way for it to happen, or indeed if Roman was the right opponent for it to happen, but right now i just want to think of the memories he has given us and thank him for everything he has done, plus we will be seeing him next year in the Hall Of Fame anyway...

#ThankYouTaker

As for the show in general, I thought it was great, some fantastic moments, great matches with great action, for me Rollins v Triple H was MOTN, Triple H looked pretty stupid on his trike., but I'm happy that he put Rollins over and hopefully Rollins is back proper now after his injury, Liked the opener between Shane and AJ, Shane is a ****ing Lunatic!, pleased for Naomi to retain the title in a decent match, no surprise for me that Owens won the US title or the Lesnar beat Goldberg but the Universal title match was really good, I hoped that Wyatt would retain as Orton is kinda boring and Wyatt is for more interesting but it was a decent match.

Umm...anything else?? Oh yeah, wasn't really impressed with the Raw women's title match, Bayley retaining just seems like a safe option, and the stuff they did in the corner seemed to be messed up again, Hardy Boyz coming back was a big surprise and the tag division in general badly needs them, what a brilliant moment that was!, Mixed tag was meh and I hope it doesn't damage Miz in the long run, the proposal was a nice moment.

The only thing i didn't really like was the Battle Royal, Mojo Rawley winning with the help of some American Football guy that 80% of this planet have never heard of, what an absolute joke that was!

Fantastic show overall, I didn't want it to end, well done to everyone involved. 👍

Not to mention they were basically um.... fighting over whose yard was it...

All this stuff about Roman still being a Babyface, to me....in my eyes, he has turned heel, the way he slammed the chair on Taker's back and the state of the Chair and Takers back afterwards, plus in recent week him saying that its my yard now, to me that's all heel stuff, just my take on the matter...

I doubt it, in a face vs. face rivalry there are multiple cases of the faces performing heelish actions during the feud.

Wow. The fact they're still trying to spin this after that reaction is actually pathetic.

He's getting chants now that Cena never got. Let that sink in for a moment.

I'm just waiting for Roman do some version of this...

Also, Captain Dum-Dum (aka Vince) is in the arena.

Oh its true....

OH ITS DAMN TRUE!

Yeah, overall Wrestlemania 33 was a great show. Sure there was some questionable booking but there was still some tremendous matches. I personally thought Lesnar v Goldberg was great fun to watch, wish Goldberg got a bit more offence in though and it went a minute or two longer but still, great fun. AJ v Shane was a great opener. The shooting star press was by far one of the best things o

If Reigns was getting those chants in front of a PG Raw crowd, I can only imagine what would happen if he was put in front of that same ECW crowd Cena was put in front of.

It's oh it's real it's damn real. Not true.

Now the question is......is RAW finally going to improve and maybe finally might go on par with SD Live?

You know what would be great? Angle vs Samoa Joe. Though its done already in TNA (remember that match where every TNA title was on the line and Angle beat Joe) but it would interesting to see it in WWE.

But how will that work? Assuming that Angle is a babyface GM and Joe becomes tired of what Angle is doing, then Joe could become rebellious against Angle and it will lead to a match for both of them. And with HHH watching over Joe, maybe a HHH vs Angle?

Still I'm excited he's back as RAW GM. Let the milk drinking begin!

Angle debut in tna to fight for the title against joe.

I'm going to mic drop this:

I don't know if people are purely delusional, in denial, or a combination of the two. He doesn't have "heat" anymore, it's likely breached into legitimate vitriol.

The level of effort being put into spinning this into something positive is, like I said before, pathetic. If you want to capitalize on that hate — which is likely what everyone wants — then that's one thing, but don't pretend there's some misunderstanding or that this one particular crowd is "impassioned".

The only thing he "owned" was being disrespected for thirteen minutes.

Here we go SD Live. Please show up Nakamura!

Oh god the Cena/Miz thing isn't done yet. :banghead:

So Tye Dillinger is in the main roster now, 🤬 I'm going to hate the crowd even more.

Also please tell me AJ Styles is finally face, PLEASE BE FACE!!!

I think they will let Naka fight AJ so I doubt the face turn is going to happen just yet.

I must say, WM33 wasn't the worst, wasn't the best either, but I gotta say it was the most emotional one IMO. I mean, the Hardys returning... Undertaker's retirement..., Cena engaging Nikki for a bonus... I mean, the best way to mix emotions arround WWE fans was showed last Sunday. And the RAW after 'mania was..., I gotta say, cool we have Kurt Angle back, but dude, Reigns really got hated... Justified reasons obviously, and WWE didn't even edit that part!! That was really something surprising... Also on Smackdown, a strange way to debut Nakamura on the STILL Miz-Maryse/Cena-Nikki feud... But it was a nice debut!! ;)

My night peaked. All else is nothingness now.

Waddle Dance Senpai noticed me!

A something almost 3-years-old, but still...Cute ;)

Yes, it's mine, and it's still safe and sound on my art bag ;)

Just noticed it hasn't been mentioned yet. Simon Gotch got released. Apparently Aiden English will be repackaged and used as a midcarder
