Roman and Seth had an epic match which was definitely match of the weekend, Roman retained following three spears to Seth and they did a Shield fist bump after the match to end that chapter, they also paid homage to Dean Ambrose during the match.

Chad Gable deservedly won the Intercontinental title beating Penta in his hometown of Minnesota, he celebrated with his family in the ring after, Chelsea Green won the interim Women's champion in the ladder match which was also deserved and she dedicated the win to Michael Hayes after taking a shot at him, Baron Corbin beat Trick Williams to become new United States champion in a bit of a weird decision, Trick must be moving on to bigger things. Danhausen winning the monie on the pole match was just whatever.

Kevin Owens returning was great and I'm so happy for him that he is back, he has been missed and Owens v Punk for the title will be great.

Some news from tonight.

Brock Lesnar was a guest on the Pat McAfee show and he said that he is officially retired, he has been moved back to the Alumni section of WWE.com.

Bianca Belair and Montez Ford have welcomed their first child into the world after Bianca gave birth, its a boy whom they have named Romeo Leonardo Allen Crawford. Big congrats to them both.

On Raw last night, Big Cass returned and attacked Je'von Evans, Bron Breakker and Oba Femi had an intense stare down (Breakker v Femi? Yes please!) Both Becky Lynch and Stephanie Vaquer returned to challenge Liv Morgan for her title, Jacob Fatu went back to his old persona and brutally took out Royce Keys in the street fight main event, AAA general manager Rey Mysterio said he had something to run by Roman Reigns, my guess is that it could be Triple Mania related, that big show is coming up.

Used to, because of Liv Morgan...but that Dominic Mysterio's girlfriend gimmick is too cringe and for another number of reasons, mainly the wrestlers I liked were not the ones being pushed lol, I stopped watching WWE several months ago.

Speaking of which...

So that interaction between Roman Reigns and Rey Mysterio at the end of Raw will be a tournament featuring the best luchadores where the winner will face Roman for the world title on the September 14th Raw which is in Mexico City, it will tie in to Triple Mania which takes place on the weekend before and its like AAA's big show of the year, like their own WrestleMania.

Rhea Ripley has had successful surgery on her right knee injury, it seems Chelsea Green will transition from the Interim Women's champ to being the out-right champion.

And I'm all for it :D

So am I, she totally deserves it and i think she should hold it for a while and not have a Sami Zayn and lose it in a week or so.

Bad News! Interim WWE Women's Champion Chelsea Green suffers broken orbital bone. This WWE Women's Title pictures is cursed (not by Danhausen).

On the bright side, Tatum Paxley debuts on the Main Roster at SmackDown last night.

Solo Sikoa was really starting to hit his stride as a babyface, he has been excellent and it looked like he was having a blast in the role, he was so funny during his promo segment with Jey Uso at the start of Raw. But then he lost to Jey in the main event and the stipulation was that if he lost he had to go back to the Bloodline, so all that babyface stuff looks like it will go out the window. :indiff:

I hate this 'new' Bloodline, its just a copy of what have seen already with a few little differences, we have seen it before. Speaking of Roman Reigns, Penta won in the first round of winner-loses-to-Roman Reigns-in-Mexico City tournament, another thing I don't like about Raw right now is Big Cass's return, he is just another generic big man heel crushing the little guys.

Oh well, at least we have Oba v Bron which still looks like its happening, give it to me now!

Zilla Fatu, the son of Umaga, debuted on WWE TV last night on NXT.

CM Punk v Kevin Owens for the WWE title is set for Smackdown in Toronto next week, Cody Rhodes v Randy Orton looks like will take place at Sunday Night's Main Event in Atlanta on 5th September.....not on a Saturday this time!

Two titles changed hands last night, Tama and Talla Tonga won the tag titles in a triple threat beating previous champs Damien Priest and R-Truth plus the War Raiders, Jacy Jayne won the women's US title from Tiffany Stratton and it now means that Fatal Influence has all the gold with Henley and Reid from the faction currently holding the women's tag titles, they are on a roll now after a slow start on the main roster.

Nick Aldis has given Chelsea Green 30 days to get medically cleared from her orbital bone injury or she has to vacate her women's title, its not known if its a serious injury or if it needs surgery, she did have a pretty big black eye on the show last night.

Playoffs for August 18th in Korakuen Hall:
  • Saya Iida v.s AZM
Small and strong v.s small and fast

  • Dreadlocked Rina Y whose last name makes the GTPlanet swear filter angry v.s Rina (Pink Devil)
Either way, a Rina will advance :sly:. (fun fact but there is a nearly 18 year age difference between the two)

  • Starlight Kid v.s HANAKO
haha HANAKO big, Starlight Kid smol

  • Hanan v.s Ruaka
funnily enough for two wrestlers who came up together (Ruaka was Hanan's debut opponent back in 2017) and stayed in the same promotion since, they're meeting again with title implications

  • (winner of Iida/AZM) v.s Maika
  • (winner of RINA FIGHT) v.s Konami
  • (winner of Kid/HANAKO) v.s Ami Sohrei
  • (winner of Hanan/Ruaka) v.s Suzu Suzuki

I'm loving Solo as a babyface, hopefully he stays like this for a while.

Playoffs for August 18th in Korakuen Hall:

  • Maika and Suzu Suzuki each look to become the first two-time winner. In Suzuki's case, also looking to be the first World of Stardom Champion to win as champ. Meanwhile Maika looks to become the first three-time finalist. (lost 2023, won 2024)
  • Rina looks to be the youngest winner at 19
  • Starlight Kid looks to be the first masked winner

Solo Sikoa is surely now one of the top babyfaces in WWE, he and LA Knight attacked Roman Reigns and the Bloodline when it looked like Solo was about to re-join them. Also Jacob Fatu just stood there and did nothing to help them although Roman told him not to get involved in attacking LA Knight, Roman wasn't happy with him when the show went off air.

Chad Gable and Rey Mysterio had an excellent match for the Intercontinental title, the last five minutes or so was red hot and it got a great pop from the crowd, its amazing how Rey can keep doing this at his age and with his injury history. He is one of the best to ever do it.

Considering he started before I was born and I can technically argue I'm a Cold War baby then yeah it's wild how he's still going

Not sure if it's available in other regions (I assume it would be) but Lucha Underground has been added to Amazon Prime in Australia.

I can actually watch it now.

Ilja seems to be leaving soon 😕

Yep, his contract is expiring and he has been moved to the Almuni section.

Another criminally under-rated guy not used properly recently, his last TV appearance came during the Andre The Giant battle royale during Mania weekend back in April, he had a memorable return last year and had a fantastic run with the US title with the open challenges.

People were dreaming and salivating for Ilja vs. Walter Gunther on the main roster... And yet, here we are again. All that good will that was pulling me back, totally gone again, and not just from mishandling Ilja.

So many decisions that feel like more aggressive end-of-Vince era burials of people that get over, over adherence to creative while shelving talent, the recycling of ideas, Michael Cole again. Then you add on the TKO BS with jacking up tickets and selling everything under the sun without any self awareness, and I can't tell if Paul out of ideas and just full of nonsense or if he is under pressure to be the burning circus' lead salesman while his position is undermined.

WWE seems to be going through a bit of a lull right now. The Bloodline is sooo 2020 I see they are trying to rebuild the tag team after letting New Day and the Motor City Machine Guns and DIY depart. To me is seems like the suits at TKO don't know how to run a wrestling business. Or maybe just maybe I have grown wrestling again

Its been reported that Dragonov was asking for too much money during the contract negotiations, and whilst they thought he was a great worker and reliable they thought he wasn't a money maker and therefor not worth what he was asking for, Dragonov didn't have a non compete 90 day clause because his contract expired and he wasn't released so he is free to go anywhere right away.

CM Punk v Kevin Owens for the WWE title in a huge match on Smackdown tonight.

Sami Zayn will be out for a little while with a broken left hand, its a legit injury and not storyline related.

Sami Zayn got involved in the title match on Friday and cost Kevin Owens, there was a ref bump (two actually!) and then Zayn appeared, he gave the title to Owens to use on Punk but Owens didn't want to cheat and win that way so Zayn used the title on him which led to Punk retaining, Zayn then used the title on Punk after the match and stood tall at the end of the show.

Hiromu Takahashi debuted on Smackdown and till be Shinsuke Nakamura's tag team partner, his WWE name is Kyoki. Blake Monroe was meant to have her first main roster match but she attacked Giulia before the match so it didn't happen which means she still hasn't had a match on Smackdown yet despite being on there for a few months. MFT''s retained there tag titles against Truth and Priest, it looked like Priest was going to turn on Truth after but it didn't happen.

Lil Yachty and Baron Corbin will have a match at SNME and if Yachty lasts more than five minutes then Trick Williams gets another US title shot against Corbin, rapper Yachty has been training with Ivy Nile and her husband.

Rina has followed her late mentor Hana Kimura and won the 5Star Grand Prix, defeating Starlight Kid in the finals.

Avery Styles, the son of AJ Styles, has signed with TNA and made his first appearance at Lockdown last night. His dad of course and a long and storied career at TNA so Avery is following in his footsteps.
