Not a huge amount happened on Raw or SD this week, Owens v Rollins for the Universal title at COTC, however its Owens v Reigns on Raw next week and if Reigns wins then the match is a triple threat , over on SD American Alpha got through to the tag titles tournament final but they were attacked by the Usos (who turned heel in the process) after the match, Chad Gable picked up a storyline knee injury and they have since been pulled from the final at Backlash, its thew Usos v Hype Bros to meet Slater & Rhyno on Sunday night...

Backlash is tonight, the first of the Brand Split PPV's, its a Smackdown show and here is the card

Smackdown Tag Team Tournament-Last Chance Match
The Hype Bros v The Usos

Smackdown Tag Team Tournament-Final
Heath Slater & Rhyno v The Hype Bros/The Usos

Intercontinental Championship
The Miz (c) v Dolph Ziggler

Randy Orton v Bray Wyatt

Smackdown Women's Championship-Six Pack Elimination Match
Naomi, Becky Lynch, Carmella, Natalya, Nikki Bella & Alexa Bliss

WWE World Championship
Dean Ambrose (c) v AJ Styles

And that's it, quite a thin card, no word on any sort of kickoff show/pre-show, no John Cena either as he is taking part in the company's tour in the far east.

in other news, CM Punk made his long-awaited UFC debut last night and unfortunately for him he got chocked out by Mickey Gall very early on.

Not sure if Alexa Bliss, or Margot Robbie... Por Harley Quinn?? Lol

Overall opinion: I'd give it a 8/10

This PPV Overall beats Summerslam in every aspect, even with a lackluster Main Event.

Women's Championship match: 7.5/10

I really did like how this match was the one to excite the crowd. Each Women had there very own offense and while the middle was a bit rushed, the conclusion made up for it with a really deserving winner.

Second Chance Tag Team match: 8/10

Love the new Usos, a lot more like "We don't give a 🤬" and a lot more brutal in the ring, I like :D

Intercontinental Championship match: 9/10

This match was incredible. This has got to be the best year ever for The Miz, and Dolph wasn't awful too. They both pulled off amazing offense, both looking strong and how the match ended was cheap but was a great way to show Miz's persona and not ruin Dolph.

Entire Bray Wyatt segment: 5/10

I can't really say anything about the segment and what I do like about it because it would be spoiler heavy. I'll just say poor Bray :(

Tag Team Championship: 8.5/10

This is the match I wanted to see the most. Both teams played perfectly and I was so happy with the outcome, it was a great result and can't to see the aftermath of what happened.

WWE World Championship: 3/10

I'll admit, I hate AJ Styles he's just a guy who can do wrestling moves. That's it. He barely brings his character into his matches no matter how much Dean Ambrose tried and that's not what you want as a heel.

But this match was bad in far more levels, it started way to sluggish and slow with silly early gimmick of breathing that was forgotten about anyway. I'll admit near the end, the match picked up and it was quite entertaining to watch (that's why I gave it a 3), then how the match ended just ruined it, I understand that they want to keep this story along and develop more but fragile refs is not how you want to keep it going. When I saw the ref fell over, I just knew what was going to happen and it upsets me that the match had to end like this in the most empty way possible to develop the story.

Didn't see it last night because of work, will probably watch it tomorrow, cant comment on what the matches were like but found out the results, delighted for Becky Lynch for finally winning a title at WWE, she really deserves it 👍

Didn't wait till tomorrow just seen all of it now!, the Women's match was great and a great way to start the show and like i said before Becky is such a deserving winner, no real surprise that Slater/Rhyno won the titles but great for them nonetheless and i'm loving Uso's hell run so far, Intercontinental match was great but let down by the finish.

on to Bray then, look, i get that Orton is still feeling the effects of his match with Brock at SS, i mean who wouldn't be?! he almost had his scalp ripped off!, And that announcement was made just a few hours before the show so it left them in a difficult spot, but they still could've handled the whole thing better, and in a way that Bray wouldn't have been screwed over yet again, he really could have/can still be one of the top guys in the company, but they keep o letting him down.

And on to the main event, match of the night for me, but again let down by a screwy finish, I am happy that Styles won and is new champ as he is a great wrestler but i sort of agree with you @RESHIRAM5, i do think he is a good character, but he isn't a good heel, he is not believable as a heel for me.

Finally how about this, our three main Champions are now Kevin Owens, AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura, Holy ****!!!!

I wanted a Double Turn to happen during the main event, I think Dean can make a really good heel and since AJ is so popular, making him face wouldn't be too hard.

Pretty good Raw and Smackdown i thought, matches added to Raw's Clash Of The Champions in less than two weeks and matches already made for Smackdown's No Mercy on Oct 9th, including the main event, John Cena is back in the title picture.

Usually I'd be upset about Cena in the title picture but now I don't mind, I think it is how the Booing and how he responds have pretty much turned into his character and his great run as U.S Champion.

Well like i said on here before i do think he is transitioning from being a full time wrestler to becoming some sort of celebrity and i think he is planning what to do once he is retired, he will probably be gone in the next two years or so, maybe sooner, him bowing out with a title run would be a great way to bow out, i don't think he has held the WWE/World title for over two years now.

I now feel old, considering I started watching around his first US Title run. :(

The CWC is over and......

TJ Perkins is your winner and new WWE Cruiserweight Champion.

Paige is rumored to be back on Raw next week, but i have the feeling that if she does return then she will be Nia Jax's next victim.

Yay. It's also about time we have a Filipino wrestler who is holding a WWE title. The last time we had a Filipino WWE champion would have to be Batista. And its also because of him who brought WWE into our country.

Now with TJ as champion, I hope this means that the popularity of WWE in our country will be restored.

I do have to say that I was rather shocked that TJ won. I thought for sure Kota was going home the champ. But TJ worked his ass off. He deserved it. It would be nice if it increased the popularity of the sport in the Philippines.

So a few sites are reporting that WWE have placed a bid on purchasing TNA, and so have the owners of ROH. Makes sense considering they need more talent for the Brand Split, but most of the guys in TNA are WWE rejects or people who are unhappy with WWE.

It's not just about the wrestlers contacts that they would acquire. It's also about putting a competitor out of business, increasing the viewers of your own brand (hopefully). Then, you also get all of the video archives, which would increase the traffic the WWE network would see. Imagine every TNA PPV on demand. Then, you get all the trademarks, which if used correctly, could increase merchandise sales and various other business ventures. Plus, you would hopefully get the fan base TNA has, preventing it from staying with Billy Corgan or going to another promotion, increasing viewership and ticket sales. Now, I've heard the asking rate is $40 million. Which compared to the rumored actual value that is rumored, $4 million. But I can see WWE making a pretty high offer and ending up with consuming another brand again.

I honestly want this mostly for TNA PPVs probably being on the WWE Network.

and if the Hardy's are willing to work with WWE again, imagine "Broken" Matt Hardy vs Bray Wyatt :D.

I don't mind WWE buying TNA but WWE is just buying back their rejected ex WWE talent like Eli Drake, Aiden O'Shea, Tyrus, Drew McIntyre/Galloway.

So there has been some story-line stuff going on away from the TV cameras this week, its to do with Miz contract re-negotiations and its all been on WWE.com and social media, at first he was in talks with Daniel Bryan, then those talks broke down, then he was being traded to Raw (yes really!) and finally today it was announced that they have struck a deal, guess we will hear about it on Tuesday nigh.

Randy Orton has now been medically cleared to return to in-ring action.

And on tonight's Raw, its Rollins v Rusev, which should be interesting as i don't think those two have ever faced each other, plus the Cruiser-weights are on tonight.

Women's title match at COC on Sunday is now a triple threat, US title and Cruiser-weight title matches have been added, so too has Jericho v Zayn and the kick-off match is done too.

The Cruiser-weights were by far the best thing on Raw last night!

Tj Perkins vs. The Brian Kendrick is also in the card for COC.

Er...yeah i just said that the Cruiser-weight title match had been added

Didn't like the main event last night, didn't make much sense to me...

I missed the cruiserweight part. My bad.

As much as I enjoyed the Cruiserweight match, I must say I'm not filled with hope after the first Raw outing for them.

Just how bland the build was - Foley decrees that the match will happen, match happens, we have a number one contender and... that's it. No debut for TJ Perkins so the Raw audience could see who the title holder is and what the title even looks like. Just, "go out there and do a good flippy man match, please".

So I was thinking; what if we put a Cruiserweight-exclusive show in the slot formerly occupied by CWC? Tape it before Raw instead of Superstars, because who the hell cares about Superstars. Use the time on Raw to showcase whatever is the top of the food chain within the division, and allow other people and other stories to build on... Heat.

As well as using the guys who are signed with The 'E, you could also bring in non-contracted guys as they did on the old days of Heat and Velocity.

Now by no means am I suggesting that the show would be as low-calibre as the old Heat was, it'd just be a cool nostalgia kick to use that name, and it would give the WWE Network a proper, important 'main roster' show to air.

Hopefully people like Neville, Sin Cara and other eligible guys are allowed in the division. It seems silly to have them wasting away when there's a division sitting there that matches their CV's nicely.

@adam46, I felt the same way about way the cruiserweight match. It seemed rather rushed and sloppy. The match itself was decent. But I tuned into Raw this week to watch the debut of these guys and we get four of them. The Cruiserweight Classic was freaking awesome. It was the best thing coming out of WWE, and I fear they are going to kill that excitement. I think, right now, I'd be more excited if the Cruiserweights went to NXT.
