Does GT5 Need More OLD Cars?

Was just thinking from GT4 and there seems to be an abundance of old cars in GT5. And when I say old I mean old going onto vintage. Past the GT40's and those small 50's and 60'sJapanese coupe's and the Golfs, 2CV's and 500's, I'm talking about the Auto Union, The ModelT and that Mercedes Carriage that resembled a parking bench with a gas cooker on the back and penny-farthing wheels on the side.

The oldest car in my garage is a '56 Corvette I got off the Online Used Dealership thing, but I personally think GT5 could have gone into more effort to getting cars older than that. Yes there's the two Kubelwagen-mobiles but that seems to be it, and even then I sold mine as I needed the money at the time! 💡

The older cars in GT4 prompted me to do more research about them, espically the Auto Union, I remember doing the drag strip with it (as you couldn't race it) and the thing got into a top 10 littered with supercars and even a couple of race cars. Never knew there would be any car pre-1950 that could go that fast.

Please be nice, I'm new and my other thread seemed to dissappear so this is my new one.

Thoughts?

Not sure about the 40s and 50s as handling might be a little difficult when up against more modern machinery. Would be interesting though.

Could do with more 60s and 70s - plenty of omissions there. :)

In a word yes.

Would love to get behind the wheel of some vintage and classic cars. To be honest I find the prospect of driving a classic Ferrari or vintage Bentley for more exciting than latest Skyline or MX-5

Much more great classics from the 60s to 80s would be awesome. Older cars have more character than the electronic supported plastic-crap of modern days.

A great selection of famous historic race cars would be cool.

I'd love to see some classic 50's and 60's sports cars... Astons, Ferrari's, Alfa's etc.

More new cars, instead of being GT3 and 4 over again, thank you. Old cars can be fun, but I think, personally, that the most popular ones (and most useable ones) are already in the game.

I think 50's American classics should be better represented. The '57 Chev is an obvious one. But many more could be included.

The 60's saw the muscle era boom around the world. The Australian Ford GT Falcon was the fastest production car in the world in the late 60's.

But during that same time, think of all the classic European cars that have been missed. How many Ferrari models, MG and even the Ford Cortina and Escorts.

I would like to see historic F1 cars to honour some of the great stories from the sport, and the men who gave their lives to it.

Thumbs up for the Model T too:tup:

Totally agree:tup:

I would love to see more 80's & 90's European cars.

How many Aston Martins should be here?

MG TC, 49 Hudson, 32 Ford (with Hot Rod options). How about a Duesenberg or a Cord?

I agree. The oldest car in GT5 is the VW Kubelwagen from 1942. In comparison to GT4, the oldest car was the Mercedes-Benz Patent Motorwagen and the Daimler Motor Carriage, both from 1886. That's a 56 year difference!

I would definetly love some more vintage race cars in the game....some of the early "open-wheel" cars like the Brabhams and the Formula Fords...how about a "birdcage" Maserati and why is'nt Austin-Healey in the game at all?PD should have left the Auto Union streamliner in the game along with a lot of others.....far too many to list.:grumpy:

Even though GT5 already has by far the largest selection of cars I've ever seen in a racing game, it could always have more. I'd love to see classic F1 cars from throughout history, a Vanwall or Maserati 250F would be so completely amazing. The thing is, by having so many cars, a lot of people wonder why they haven't included a variety of very obvious choices. It would be great if PD did what Turn 10 did with Forza and actually asked the community which cars they'd like to see, though we'd probably just get the E30 M3, E30 M3 Sport Evo, E30 M3 Sport Evo II, E30 M3 Group A, E30 M3 Rally car (not sure if these are even things, just labouring my point) and the Veyron Supersport.

Also I think they could do with some more new cars, too. The Lotus 2-Eleven, Mk.2 Focus RS and Megane R26.R, even though they're already a year old or more, are some good examples.

I'd love to have more premium classic cars in GT5 such as a premium E-type Jag or even a premium Mk II Golf. And of course a DB5 :D Some classic F1 cars (such as 60's/70's and maybe one of Senna's McLarens) would be awesome as well.

Did someone say OLD?
It seems no-one requested late 1800s cars, except me.

I want them all; Model T, Daimler Carriage, etc. etc, in premium.

What this game really needs is the classic F1 cars like they had in GT3, plus more even :) Would love to see an old JPS livery Lotus in the game!

Same as my thoughts, however, even if PD gave us these cars, such liveries as JPS, Marlborough, Camel etc. would be changed or removed alltogether, as would any promoting alcohol.
It's a shame, but apparently they cannot put these in the game.

I would also like to see Indy cars, and some modern British touring cars.

I think GT5 is swamped with 1990s vehicles and 2000-2004. I'd like to see more new vehicles (not necessarily premium) and more <1970 vehicles.

More cars please.

Dont care which era/year or if they are prem/standard.

Just more... Even an austin maxi!
