The physics are different online?

You can practice all day on a car and track and then get completely caught off guard when you try the same thing again online.

Why are they different from the offline portion?

BEFORE PATCH - I only play online. There's 1 physics as far as I'm concerned. The online one seems more realistic anyway, so I'm happy.

There should be no difference though. There's no reason for it. - BEFORE PATCH

But they patched it I think, and there's a thread on it already.

It does bother me. You practice driving offline and when you go online, you realize that you need to learn how to drive all over again. Just another consistency issue with GT5.

Here's a hint: Starts with an L & ends with a G....three letter word.

I'm assuming it's lag?

I'm not too sure how lag can affect the physics that much. I mean, even as the host, the difference between offline and online physics is quite noticeable.

If what I said is true, then it's probably something else that differs the physics. I'm guessing the online physics won't "lag" as much (don't ask me, I'm no expert at this stuff ).

To me it looks like it takes a bit longer time before the tires get warm. That's what I think at least, but I haven't conducted any scientific experiments to know for sure.

Edit: And I don't think lag has so much to do with it, as the physics are processed by your own PS3.

It bothers me. There is a noticeable difference and right now I am in four leagues (finally down to four lol) and I can't get any practice in. Of course I guess it makes no difference since we can't race anyway but that's for another thread. I don't see why they were changed for online racing but it makes no sense to me.
