Hi guys!

I have another account into my PS3, and I was wondering if I buy the GT5's DLCs is it going to work on GT5 into both accounts?

Anyone can confirm that? I never bought any DLCs before.

Thanks so much!

AleX

It will work 100%.
I have both the stealth's and chromelines and I know I can use them on all accounts. The DLC will work the same way.

Fixed.
Just because it worked for the stealth and chromeline's doesn't mean it will for the new DLC, but it should.

if you buy a downloadable game it appears on all accounts on that ps3 and always has, this should be no different.

So does this mean that I will be able to send cars from one alternate account to the other main account?

Just be mindful that the old DLCs do not need to be loaded with that new DLC Button on the Main Menu, that's all.

Meaning that the new DLCs MIGHT be handled differently from the old Stealth DLCs, ie limited to a single PS3 user.

We'll see soon enough in a couple of days, when the reports start coming in from the DLC users. :)

Definitely will not be able to send any DLC purchased from account to another, would be dumb as stupid decision from PD if you did....

You can do it with anything else downloaded from the psn store.

Cannot send my Stealth cars from one account to other....

The Stealth cars will appear automatically on any GT5 save (doesn't even need to be a new one) on any account on a machine they have been downloaded on, so long as the account's region matches the region of the PS Store used to download them from.

So your saying that my Stealth cars which I got from the UK PS store won't be on my US account? If so your wrong as they are on all my accounts. :)

So your saying that

No, I'm saying what I said, which is what will happen, not what won't happen. What will happen is that if your account region, DLC (PS Store) region and disc region match, all DLC from that region will appear on all accounts from that region.

If you're using an EU disc and downloaded EU DLC... it probably will appear on any account regardless of the region of the account - I haven't used either of my US or JP GT5 saves since v1.07 came out to check (and I'd probably need to reset passwords for them, post-hack). If you're using a US account and download US DLC but use an EU disc, the DLC won't appear on any save.

It's a case of matching the DLC region (and thus PS Store region and thus account region) to the disc region for the initial download. After that, I'll take your word for it.

Comparing to past DLC, the content should be shareable. Since the introduction of the new DLC handling system though, users are assuming the entire PSN ticket-unlock system was changed specifically for this game. (Which I find to be very imaginative.)

Only real way to know is wait 'til the 18th.

Of course.. that goes without saying. My point was about you saying that the stealth cars which I got from the UK psn store.. Wouldn't show on my US account.. ;)

You cannot send Stealth (note: SEND as in gift or trade) cars from one account to another so I expect DLC to be same.

I didn't say it wouldn't... I said it would show up on any other account on the machine with the same region as the DLC (PS Store) and disc, but did not preclude it showing up on other accounts with different DLC (PS Store) regions and the same disc.

I'll add that it will not show up on any gamesave created using a disc from a region different to the DLC region, regardless of the account region. Which is nicely complex.

The thread is not about sending. It's about multiple accounts on the same machine getting access to the same DLC - which is what happens with the Stealth and Chromeline cars as it stands.

I didn't say it wouldn't... I said it would show up on any other account on the machine with the same region as the DLC (PS Store) and disc, but did not preclude it showing up on other accounts with different DLC (PS Store) regions and the same disc.

**"so long as the account's region matches the region of the PS Store used to download them from." **

You didnt mention the disc in your original statement.. Which is what made me question it.. ;)

I also didn't mention why you wouldn't get the DLC across accounts, only why you would - if [this] results in [that], it doesn't mean [not this] doesn't result in [that] - because it's unhelpful to the thread starter. He wanted to know if he could receive DLC across his accounts, not ways that he couldn't, so I didn't include it.

Your boring me now. :dopey:

Good. Perhaps you'll stop sidetracking the thread by assuming things on my behalf and telling me I'm wrong for saying things I didn't say and the thread starter won't find confusion instead of assistance.

If you have no interest in helping the thread starter - and your sidebar is intensely unhelpful to him - you shouldn't be posting at all.

It's worth an additional note that although we know how the existing DLC works in terms of cross-accounting, this DLC is slightly different (for a start, it comes in the form of tickets, rather than automatic addition to the account's garage) so we have no real reference point for how it will work. We'll all find out soon.

You were wrong with your initial post and you know it. :dopey:

Shame I didn't put £10 on you responding.

No, I gave information that would help. I gave information on what would happen. You then interpreted it your own way - quick hint, any time you have to say "So your saying that" (sic) and reword things, you've either misunderstood the point or are deliberately misinterpreting it to give you something to attack (Straw Man Fallacy) - and told me I'm wrong for it, despite me not saying your interpretation of things.

I at no point said you cannot get EU DLC on a US gamesave. You made that up and told me I'd be wrong to say it. Since I didn't say it, no problem - only despite repeatedly telling you this, you still think there is a problem.

So do you actually want to help the guy out, or do you just want to run across the internet and tell people they're wrong for saying things they didn't say but you've imagined up? I should put £10 on that answer too.

I wanted to make sure you weren't misleading the OP by telling him the following.
"so long as the account's region matches the region of the PS Store used to download them from"

EU and US are the same region now are they? :dopey:

If you spent less time changing my words in your head - and editing them to pink - and more reading, you'd be less bored and mislead:

if [this] results in [that], it doesn't mean [not this] doesn't result in [that]

Downloading EU content from EU PS Store and using it on an EU account with an EU disc results in the ability to play the content on any EU account on the machine. It doesn't mean that downloading EU content from EU PS Store and using it on a EU account with an EU disc will result in the inability to play the content on any non-EU account - like you made up and told me I was wrong if I was saying that. Luckily I wasn't, so no problem. Right? Apparently not...

Since the thread starter only wants to know if he can use DLC on both accounts on his console, any further "information" only confuses the issue. It doesn't help him to know what circumstances he won't be able to, so I didn't mention them. Your interpretation of it was that I was mentioning circumstances he won't be able to.
